Oh no Seannie! LOL. I hope that doesn't happen to me! I'd be worried in my medicated state after surgery I'd forget it was there for a day or so!

I work in Surgery. For any surgery involving the belly we have the patient remove their underwear because we prep the skin with a surgical scrub and they would contaminate the area/get in our way. For other surgeries you can keep cotton panties on, others are a fire risk. Hope this helps.

Do you have anyone who can be with you? As a Recovery Room nurse I know the staff will take care of you but it's so much better to have someone who can speak up for you and you will have to have someone drive you home. Good luck!

Ending day 2 of preop diet and this is harder than I though!! I just want one thin slice of cheese pizza or a kid burger from McD's... Don't need a full spread! Just want something with some carbs! I sure hope this gets easier!!!

Crazy phone! Yeah, I'm mixing them in blender with silk unsweetened milk and ice. Had my Coworkers taste test today and they all agree they are bad! I have some Evolv shakes already and have some PB2 ordered, hopefully that will be better! Thanks

9 days until my pre-op diet starts and 23 days until surgery!! Getting excited, nervous and feel like each good meal might be my last. Determined to do this though and feel like it's my chance for a do over...My current BMI is 37 and my goal is 23. Doing the Bariatric Advantage 2 shakes, 3 bars and 5 oz lean meat, 2 vegetables a day for my pre-op.

3:15 pm day 1 of preop. Protein shake for breakfast, 2 cups lettuce/carrots with 5 oz diced chicken for lunch and snack bar this afternoon. Ate lunch by myself to avoid the smells of Coworkers hamburgers, French fries, grilled ham and cheese etc. Lord give me strength but so ready to do this!!

I feel your pain! End of day one for me and I just want a sandwich and chips! Anything worth having is hard though...we've gotta keep pushing.

How are y'all doing with your preop diets? I'm at the end of day 1 and can feel myself getting more irritable since about 3pm. Also the protein shake was ok this morning but I only drank half for dinner. Ready to be on the loser's bench!!

Me too! I'm ok with paying a "weight loss note" every month if it works!!

I'm self pay scheduled for April 3rd in Dallas. My insurance doesn't cover weight loss surgery. When I hit 200 I decided for sure it was time to do something!! I'm only 5 ft 1'. My preop diet started today!! So grateful to have found this site...

My nectar samples are on backorder. I was supposed to choose my flavors from them to mix with my Bariatric Advantage wild berry punch crystals. So, I decided just to mix a little of the crystals to check out the taste and I don't think I'm gonna be able to stomach that 3 times a day post-op! Before I call my Dr. Office in am since this is what they have in their post-op instructions to take what are some alternatives? Did any of you take vitamin pills instead after sleeve? Is the double stuff nectar good for first 2 weeks post op? What are some other good flavors? Need to get this stuff ordered soon. Thanks

I can't wait to not run and get behind the person taking a picture to avoid having my pic taken. I can't wait to walk into Dillard's or Penny's and be able to pick up a cute dress and not worry about fat arms, legs or rolls in my back. I can't wait to not be aware of my weight constantly. Ready to get the skinny me hiding inside back!

Ordered my preop diet weeks ago through a rep at my Dr. Appt. Diet starts in 3 days and it's still not here! Called the company and it "may" be here late Wednesday. I start diet Tuesday! Luckily I have some powder here to make shakes. Would Atkins or slimfast snack bars make a good substitution for a few days??

Countdown... 1 wk until preop diet and 3 weeks until surgery. So excited because I feel like I'm getting 2 do-overs. After a long road the love of my life and I are getting remarried on April 1st, what would be our 17th wedding anniversary. So, my honeymoon will be spent in the operating room! But, I'm OK with that! Maybe next April 1 we can spend our anniversary on a beach and for once I won't worry how I look in a bathing suit!!! :-)

I got my surgery date for April 3rd and I am so excited but the no caffeine in the 2 weeks before and post-op period has me worried! I depend on my 2 cups to get me going. Tried doing half and half this morning and feel like I have a hangover :-(

I have carried a short term coverage for years that kicks in at day 8 after illness or injury. I've used it once for c-section. Called today to find out about coverage and was told if my Dr. wrote a dx code for illness/injury it would be covered. Don't see childbirth as "illness" so wondering if anyone has dealt with this. Consultation Friday so planning to ask Surgeon too....
