    I agree in that spin does look intimidating, but the funny thing is that its the easiest exercise to cheat at. You're controlling the tension, so if you leave the tension low, pedaling will be much easier than if you crank up the tension, which is really great for beginners, or if you've taken some time off from spin, like I have, because you can really go at your own pace until your comfortable to crank up the tension. You guys should definately check it out! (I know, I sound spin crazy, but I just love it!)

    Try a seat cushion. They sell them at any sporting goods store and a lot of people in my classes use them.

    Whos, try spin. Its awesome, and if you want to get back into cycling, its a great way to strengthen your leg muscles. I'm always in for a challenge!

    Thanks for starting the thread Stefanie, I'm totally psyched for 2008. My goal is to lose another 42lbs by June. Not sure if I can pull that one out of my ass or not, but we'll see. Haven't been to the gym in a week, so I gotta get my but back there as well. I just hate the gym in January, all the newbies screw up the parking, and 90% of them never make it past February. I'm gonna start going a little later though, around 8pm. When I go at that time, I just take a quick shower and pass out. I think it really helps my sleeping. Oh and Stefanie, what flavor of the Protein powder would you recommend? I'm thinking of making a purchase as well....

    My trainer didn't know anything about the "lapband" at all, but I told her about how it works and she researched it and we worked together just fine.

    Last Year at this time...

    The funny thing about this year is that each christmas I have a huge party at my place and last year I was crazy sweating, like I had some serious issues. This year, I didn't even get warm. Guess I was just sweating because I was fat!

    Staying full for that long may not last forever, but protein first does make a big difference in fullness levels.

    I love this stuff with a scoop of Peanut Butter. Tastes like a peanut butter cup. And its cheap. I usually use 1% milk with it.

    I'm sorry whos, I just looked it up, 15 grams of protein. Still better than half a cup of sugar....... Alynne, just take it easy for now, don't worry too much about weight, etc. Just get in the protein, take your meds, and relax. Two months from now there won't be any swelling and you're gonna look awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Yeah, I'm going to by a case of the atkins shakes and make that part of my new years resolution. Its mostly just to make healthier choices, and thats going to be one of them. On top of the fact that I have to fit in a white dress soon.......Yikes!

    yeah, atkins makes a cafe caramel one thats pretty good and they have about 160 cals and 20 something grams of protein. The only problem is that they aren't super filling, but my coffee is not at all filling and its probably a lot more cals than that (I know, I know, it was the one thing that I just couldn't give up before). I take it with regular cream and a lot of sugar, so if I gave that up and added protein I'd probably be much better off......

    Yeah, I was going to ask, are you guys also taking proteing supplements? I was having a protein shake for breakfast every morning, but then stopped because I never noticed a big difference, but I was thinking about starting again while I try to give up my morning coffee....
  25. Not every doctor recommends it, but if you doctor is telling you to do something, I would listen.
