Hello all. Today is day 3 post op for me. Today I went shopping at Target to pick up a few things. Then did laundry and loaded the dishwasher. I walk a lot and sip a lot. I walk 4-5 times a day for 15 min each. Also use gasX a couple of times a day. My first day in the hospital was rough. My body does not handle surgeries very well. I had extreme pain & nausea. Walking helped tremendously. The nurses were wonderful. Gave me meds when I asked for them. I complained of chest pain--which I'm sure was gas but my doctor who is very thorough wanted an X-ray to make sure there was no leak. The best recovery has been at home! So glad I made this decision and can't wait for the weight to fall off. Wishing you all sweet dreams of thinner days.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to post an updated photo of my progress. I still have a ways to go but I'm proud of what I've accomplished so far.

I'm sitting up watching TV. Taking walks whenever possible, siping Water & chicken broth.
All in all feeling Better than OK. Have a little discomfort with gas---but I'm working diligently to get the gas moving around and out. Gas X strips are my best friend & the heating pad. Best of luck to all you new sleeves.

My doctor's office called me right away upon approval & I received a letter in the mail. It probably wouldn't hurt to call UHC.

I'm one week out and feeling lots better everyday. Congrats!

Gosh from everything I've read on this forum, there is nothing to be concerned regarding safety.
I do think you need to investigate and ask questions of those who chose surgery in Mexico. I won't be going because my insurance pays for surgery----but hundreds of people go there all the time. Be safe and investigate!

I'm glad to see you are still on this board posting your journey. Did you have a 2nd surgery because of the original leak? Did the nurse say your stomach would not constrict any longer as soon as you are able to eat solid foods? Thanks for keeping us posted on yor progress.

That's why I don't have one anymore. Don't want to live with any jerks!!!

I am 37.5 BMI with only sleep obstruction apnea. I've performed all tests required by surgeon & UHC--blood tests , stress tests, heart ulta sound, sleep study, psychologist exam. I'm also just under 5 feet tall. My case worker is submitting my paperwork today to UHC. Hoping for May 7 surgery.
