  1. I went back to Soups and yogurt and I feel better. Thank GOD! And thank all of you for the advice, I really appreciate it. I guess moving onto solids is going to take me a while.

I guess my body starts feeling better and my wounds start healing, but I have to remember that I just had this big surgery only 5 weeks ago and my stomach is stapled shut. I have to remember that it's going to take time and patience :)

  2. Hi there,

I'm in week 5 and I'm not feeling great. I started my soft solids this past week and I've been sick since Sunday. Sunday I was stupid and I had one chicken finger. I chewed and chewed and chewed, but OH I was so sick. I thought I was going to vomit and I was sweaty all over. But it passed and I was okay about 30 minutes later. The next day I made myself some tofu and the same thing happened, just not as severe. And now it feels like something is stuck! I feel it all the time whether I'm eating or not. I don't want to eat anything at all because it feels so terrible now. I have gone back to Soup and yogurt. How do I get this unstuck??

    Please help!

  3. I think this is what happened to me too. I'm in week 5 and I'm not feeling great. I started my soft solids this past week and I've been sick since Sunday. 4. I had surgery with Almanza on 4/28 and he and his whole team are so wonderful. The recovery house was a perfect recovery place for me and I felt very comfortable being there. The nurses were so wonderful and attentive. They were there for me whenever I needed it. Always checking on me, bringing me ice pops, pain meds, anything! They work so hard in that recovery house and I am so appreciative of all of them for making my experience down there so good.

  5. Isn't it funny that we seem to lucky and are able to drink.... And we are questioning our good fortune. I think there are a lot of people who would love to able to drink like us! =). Once we get to have "real" food I think we will have the restricted feeling everyone else is talking about.

I hope so. I'm worried that I won't get the restrictive feeling or I'll blow right past it and blow up my stomach and fail. :(

  6. Hi there,

I am 5 days post op and I am having no troubles drinking at all. I just drank an entire can of chicken broth with no problems, then it hit me. Am I stretching my sleeve by drinking too much at once? I'm not talking big gulps or anything, just regular drinks. It didn't hurt at all. But I'm so scared of stretching my sleeve. I thought I read somewhere that I was only supposed to have 2 or 3 oz every 15 minutes. Is this true?

    Thanks for the help!

    Cynthia

  7. I'm 5 days post op and I can drink normally. I can't take a big gulp or I'll get the discomfort but I'm not having any troubles drinking. I thought it was going to be a big deal and it's not. I'm afraid though that I might stretch my brand new sleeve. Is this possible? From drinking too much?

  8. Hi there! I live in Uptown Dallas, right near the American Airlines Center. I'm getting sleeved in Mexico on 4/28 - 13 days!!!! I can't wait! I'm going through this totally alone, so I would love to have some sleeve buddies to go through this with me!

Baylor has a support group and I went on 4/12 and it was really great! We need to get together and support each other!!

    Take care,

    Cynthia

  9. YAY! You made it. Keep it going girl!!!

LOL! Ribs are my favorite food. But I don't want any of it right now. I'm thanking God that I am not having cravings right now.

Try a nice thick chicken breast baked with BBQ Sauce. I know it's not exactly the same thing, but it's good! :)

Yeah, I'm hoping next week will be better for my tiredness and this is just because it's my first week working out. :)

  10. LOL!!! You sound just like me. One minute I'm SO excited, then next I'm terrified. You only have 10 days left!!!!! I'm excited for you!!!

So, I have gotten alot better about my eating. AND I'm exercising! :) This has put me behind at work though, so I don't have it all figured out yet, but I just put the exercise first this week. It's been hard because I will get home at 4:00-4:30 and exercise til 5:30-6:30. By time I settle down, take a shower, eat, etc. it's 7:00 and I'm so exhausted. It's been funny. I found myself having more energy at times, and then at other times I'm just wiped. I suppose I'll get used to it.

Here's what I'm eating during the week (I've got this pretty much down):

    8:00 - oatmeal

    10:00 - apple

12:00 - chicken breast and one tray of broccoli and cheese

    2:00 - carrots

3:00 - 100 calorie pack of almonds if I need it.

4:00 - 1 scoop of whey Protein in Water

    6:00 - fish and veggie

    8:00 - banana

I've done this same thing every single day this week and it's worked out great for me. Plus I force myself to drink TONS of Water. I try to have 12 glasses a day.
