What's Wrong? Food Stuck? Stricture? Help!
I went back to soups and yogurt and I feel better. Thank GOD! And thank all of you for the advice, I really appreciate it. I guess moving onto solids is going to take me a while. I guess my body starts feeling better and my wounds start healing, but I have to remember that I just had this big surgery only 5 weeks ago and my stomach is stapled shut. I have to remember that it's going to take time and patience

What's Wrong? Food Stuck? Stricture? Help!
Right, and my concern is that I ate that chicken finger 4 days ago. I shouldn't still be feeling like this should I? Today all I've had is soup and yogurt and I still feel like something is stuck in my stomach and it makes me nauseated.

What's Wrong? Food Stuck? Stricture? Help!
Hi there, I'm in week 5 and I'm not feeling great. I started my soft solids this past week and I've been sick since Sunday. Sunday I was stupid and I had one chicken finger. I chewed and chewed and chewed, but OH I was so sick. I thought I was going to vomit and I was sweaty all over. But it passed and I was okay about 30 minutes later. The next day I made myself some tofu and the same thing happened, just not as severe. And now it feels like something is stuck! I feel it all the time whether I'm eating or not. I don't want to eat anything at all because it feels so terrible now. I have gone back to Soup and yogurt. How do I get this unstuck?? Please help!

Chest Pain! Food Stuck?
I think this is what happened to me too. I'm in week 5 and I'm not feeling great. I started my soft solids this past week and I've been sick since Sunday. Sunday I was stupid and I had one chicken finger. Oh I was so sick. I thought I was going to vomit and I was sweaty all over. But it passed and I was fine about 30 minutes later. But the next day I made myself some tofu and the same thing happened, just not as severe. And now it feels like something is stuck! I feel it all the time whether I'm eating or not. I don't want to eat anything at all because it feels so terrible now. I have gone back to soup and yogurt. How do I get this unstuck??

Almanza
I had surgery with Almanza on 4/28 and he and his whole team are so wonderful. The recovery house was a perfect recovery place for me and I felt very comfortable being there. The nurses were so wonderful and attentive. They were there for me whenever I needed it. Always checking on me, bringing me ice pops, pain meds, anything! They work so hard in that recovery house and I am so appreciative of all of them for making my experience down there so good.

Can You Drink To Much?
I hope so. I'm worried that I won't get the restrictive feeling or I'll blow right past it and blow up my stomach and fail.

Will Drinking Too Much Stretch My Precious Sleeve?
Hi there, I am 5 days post op and I am having no troubles drinking at all. I just drank an entire can of chicken broth with no problems, then it hit me. Am I stretching my sleeve by drinking too much at once? I'm not talking big gulps or anything, just regular drinks. It didn't hurt at all. But I'm so scared of stretching my sleeve. I thought I read somewhere that I was only supposed to have 2 or 3 oz every 15 minutes. Is this true? Thanks for the help! Cynthia

Can You Drink To Much?
But what about stretching my pouch? I am 5 days post op and I can drink as much as I want. I just had a whole can of chicken broth without even thinking about it, and now I'm scared that I'm stretching my sleeve. Is it possible to stretch it with liquid?

Rate Of Water Drinking?
I'm doing the same, I'm 5 days post op. I'm worried about stretching my sleeve. Could drinking too much do this?

Sipping
I'm 5 days post op and I can drink normally. I can't take a big gulp or I'll get the discomfort but I'm not having any troubles drinking. I thought it was going to be a big deal and it's not. I'm afraid though that I might stretch my brand new sleeve. Is this possible? From drinking too much?

Good Sources Of Mushy Foods?
Remember to try to keep them protein enriched too. Tuna is a good one. Eggs. Tofu. Puree chicken or fish. Baby food maybe?

UGH! Sorry girl. Hope you held strong. But if not, don't worry. The only thing that really matters is the next choice you make. There's nothing we can do about the past.

Checking In...
YAY! You made it. Keep it going girl!!! LOL! Ribs are my favorite food. But I don't want any of it right now. I'm thanking God that I am not having cravings right now. Try a nice thick chicken breast baked with BBQ sauce. I know it's not exactly the same thing, but it's good! Yeah, I'm hoping next week will be better for my tiredness and this is just because it's my first week working out.

Checking In...
LOL!!! You sound just like me. One minute I'm SO excited, then next I'm terrified. You only have 10 days left!!!!! I'm excited for you!!! So, I have gotten alot better about my eating. AND I'm exercising! This has put me behind at work though, so I don't have it all figured out yet, but I just put the exercise first this week. It's been hard because I will get home at 4:00-4:30 and exercise til 5:30-6:30. By time I settle down, take a shower, eat, etc. it's 7:00 and I'm so exhausted. It's been funny. I found myself having more energy at times, and then at other times I'm just wiped. I suppose I'll get used to it. Here's what I'm eating during the week (I've got this pretty much down): 8:00 - oatmeal 10:00 - apple 12:00 - chicken breast and one tray of broccoli and cheese 2:00 - carrots 3:00 - 100 calorie pack of almonds if I need it. 4:00 - 1 scoop of whey Protein in Water 6:00 - fish and veggie 8:00 - banana I've done this same thing every single day this week and it's worked out great for me. Plus I force myself to drink TONS of water. I try to have 12 glasses a day.

Checking In...
Hi there, So, how is everyone doing this week? What have you done to take care of you this week??? Here's what I'm doing: 1) Drinking LOTS of Water. I find that many times when I feel hungry, I'm actually just thirsty. 2) Getting plenty of rest. I'm actually trying to change my sleep pattern so I wake up earlier in the morning. I would like to work out in the mornings, if possible, when I get there. So I have been taking it easy during the week at night and going to bed early. 3) An apple a day. This SO works! I like apples ok, they're not my favorite, but they sure help me feel full. And sometimes I find that it takes me forever to eat an apple. So I just nibble on it for a few hours. It helps! 4) I'm trying to make smarter food choices. Okay, I'm not there yet, but at least I'm conscious of it! I would love to hear what you all are doing this week. Fill me in. We're in this together!! Take care!!
