Anyone Weigh Or Did Weigh 330?

I was close at 309pounds to start. I lost 25 during the 6 month pre-op and was 284pounds on surgery day Aug. 1st. I have lost another 24 in the 5 weeks since my surgery. All went well for me, I have been able to meet all liquid and protein totals every day. Excited for you, it is so nice to have the sleeve to help me with the weight struggle I have had for so long.
  3. WOW! What a huge change in a short amount of time. Keep working it well.

    Ugh Too Sweet!

Unjury brand unflavored is what I used and thought the taste was almost unnoticeable. I bought it online directly from Unjury
  5. 1. Premiere Protein Shake (Chocolate)- helps me meet protein level 2. Cottage cheese and fresh fruit - not much of a yogurt person 3. Chili - easy to order at most restaurants and I do not like eggs

Psych Eval And At The Halfway Mark!

Just keep calling and being open if a cancelation pops up. Do every visit you can as soon as you can and follow every instruction, even double check that someone else did not make an error that will hold you up. I did and was able to turn what everyone sad would be a year into a six month process. Hope it works out for you that things can go faster then expected, use this time to prepare for the necessary lifestyle changes and loose as much as possible so you are that much closer to your goal.
  7. 5 weeks out and did it once missing a fun night out with girlfriends because it hurt so bad for about an hour and almost slimed! 2 other times there was a little bit of pain but I am learning that is my full signal and I do not dare take one more bite. There was a week I struggled with not getting to take a last bite, just some mental satisfaction thing related to head hunger. Now I seem to know how little to put on my plate and I also try to ask some one at the table a question after every 2 small bites to slow myself down.

    Asthma Questions

I am 5 weeks post-op and in all my preparation no one ever had a concern. It was always noted on my medical history and they asked if it was controlled. The steroids in some of your medications may hinder healing. It is the time of year I am not on any of those so that was not addressed for me either.

    Gained 20Lbs

the fear of them not being willing to do surgery if we gained.... the threat was there before us and we were told it had happened to others. Surgeons unwilling to do surgery if you gained. That accountability made me change my food choices duing the months before surgery... even went on a 7 day cruise gained 3 pounds and lost it the next 2 weeks. I wanted this surgery BADLY! Go to all liquids if you need to.... do what ever it takes for you
  10. I went to that support group 2 months ago and it was great! There are 4 or 5 of us who have have been sleeved since then.... come join us! It is a super group.
  11. almost to first 50 pounds gone.... feeling impatient! Wanting it by support group on Saturday.

    Stupid Question .... Protein Shakes

my plan uses them through day 90 (3 months) and I can not see getting in enough protien with out them. I only need one a day with 30grams of protien so that is all I use but how would you get the 80-100 suggested grams 6+ months out without one?

    2 1/2 Weeks Short Of 6 Months

89lbs is awesome .... way to work hard! I thin your doctor will be excited with you and you will make the 100lb mark soon the way you are going.
  14. I tried 6 Isopure flavors and hated them all. Don't over buy... sample. It is so hard to know what you will like post-op and even 3 weeks post-op my likes for certain things changed again. My favorite was the syntax nectar cappuccino and crystal sky ( kind of coconut tropical) I go 11 sample packs from BJsbariatrics.com and VSTalk is a code for $7.50 off a $30 order. And when 17 days post op I could no longer tolerate the chewable Celebrate vitamins I thought tasted like candy after surgery... so they exchanged them for the capsules I wanted. GREAT service!
  15. see myself showing frustration more.... now that I do not stuff it away with food

Before And After Questions About Meals And Protein

Here's the diet and shopping list we were given for the first 90 days after surgery http://xnet.kp.org/misg/bariatrics/after.html I did like the Premiere Protein Shakes in Choclate from CostCo and Sam's.
  18. Underhunder it is! My goal is to be there by next Saturday.... if so, or when ever it is I will start a forum topic for the first time after being on here for 7 months! Glad you like the name I created..... and glad to have friend like all of you on this journey!
  19. I was just thinking the same thing.... I am 5 pounds away from 100 to goal and feel like there should be a name for that achievement. Wonderleft... or Underhunder.... I will keep thinking!

    Where are the 50s ???

Hi all, I am 50 and was sleeved on August 1st exactly 1 week after my 50th birthday. So far all is going well, I am one month post op and am down 44 lbs. (25 were pre op diet) I am still weak and tired but have been at the gym consistently the last week and a half. Excited or this journey and my knees feel better already! Not excited for the skin sag/wrinkles, but praying it is minimal and prefer it over fat!
  21. wonderfully written, you are amazing and thank you for giving back

    Sushi!

I told my sushi waiter I was on a low carb diet and requested the mixed crab filling from my favorite roll and they served it to me in a bowl with a bit of spicy tuna on top. It was awesome and one serving was 3-4 meals. I've been twice this week but need to watch the salt intake from the soy sauce.

    Stopped Lossing Lbs

needed this question too...I am an Aug. 1st sleever and stalled currently even though I am following every instruction about diet and exercise.... it is quite a test of perserverence. I just know there is no way to live like this and not begin loosing again, ready and waiting for the fat to start melting away. Glad I'm not the only one.
