I know what you mean. I went to lunch with co workers a couple of days ago. I ordered chicken Soup. I could only sip a few spoonfuls of the broth. But in between I was watching everyone eat. I dont know if I was jealous because I couldnt drink and eat, but it was like eating with a pac of wolves. And I was overwelmed and couldnt sip anymore of the soup. I starting thinking OMG did I used to look like that ?

Thats true, she does have the money to get a skilled surgeon to perform the DS. I wonder if she knows about the DS ? Seems like the DS would be a better option then the lap band. Who knows with these celeberties

It's good to hear everything went well Dr. Ponce and you are able to get a lot of liquids in so early out. Hopefully more of Dr. Ponce patients will post there experience. More options the better.

I meet a lady that had her surgery when I did. And she had the bypass 7 years before and was there getting the lap band. Maybe the DS and VSG is not a option for previous bypass patients ? Im not sure ?

It is hard to get the water in for some reason. As weeks go by, you will get it in. i am 3 weeks out and I still can only get about 16 oz of fluids in a day. Pre surgery I used to drink a little under a gallon of water a day. I think I get discouraged because i cant drink it, like I want to. Sip, stop,sip stop,sip wait 30 min for that to go down and then start back up again. That sucks

I had surgery with Dr Garcia and I went alone. I felt safe. I went straight to the hospital and then to the hotel. I did not go outside the hotel. I just walk the halls and relaxed.

I didnt even want anyone to know I was having any kind of surgery. I took 12 vacation days. I just said I was going to paint the house and I was going to San Diego for a couple of days. I didnt lie, I am painting the house (well not me but a family memeber) And I did go to San Diego. Thank goodness I didnt say I was getting my gall bladder removed. When I was dehydrated, ER did 2 MRI and said I had gallstones and my gall bladder needed removing Also said I had a small hernia.

I was a light headed, very weak and my mouth was dry. But after 4 bags of fluids in the ER I felt much better. I know for sure, im no to to 64 oz yet. Seems like you are doing good if you have got 18oz so early on the day. I may be getting in 30 oz per day. I should measure it.

I had the same problem. I had my surgery on Feb 24th and everytime I took a sip of liquid it hurt at the begining and when it hit the pouch. Long story short, I ended up in the ER with dehydration. 12 days post op, I was finally able to sip with no pain. I am just now able to eat creamy broth with minimum pain. I guess it takes time for the swelling to go down. Good luck.

When you get home ask your Dr for some liquid pain medication. I took some with me, but I didnt need it. But since I have been home I take some just before bed. I have this one incision that just wont let up. And congrats on your surgery.

Kudo's for your 100lb pre surgery weight loss. I understand what you mean about getting tried after something as little as taking a shower. Take it slow and rest when needed. Congrats on your surgery and new begining.
