  1. I was sleeved 02/29. My start weight was 356 and I am now at 295. Down 61 lbs yay!!
  2. I only drink with a straw. I get way to much air if I don't. I think each person is different so it just depends on how you do it!

    It Fits!

My surgery was 02/29 and I'm down 46 lbs. In my 26 years I have never lost this amount of weight. I am so exited and it is amazing to see results. Everyone is telling me that they can tell I'm losing. At this point I still do not see it. My start weight was 356 so 46 lbs is small in the grand scheme of things, but huge at the same time! I can feel that my clothes are a little looser. Also I have reached my very first NSV goal. My wedding ring fits!!! I was so excited to be able to put it on. I can eat more than I thought I would be able to, but still NOWHERE near what I used to. I'm so happy that I got the surgery. Sometimes I want to walk up to overweight people and tell them that they can change their life. I know if someone did that to me though I would probably knock them out lol. I love when people ask me questions. My grandmother has someone at her work that I'm meeting with for dinner on Wednesday to discuss the sleeve and answer any questions she has. I guess she will get a first hand look at what eating after the sleeve is like. I am so excited to be able to share the info about the surgery with her, it was the best decision I have ever made for myself. Still quite a ways from goal, but each day brings me closer.

    Hairy Throat

I had the same problem. It helped me to ensure I got all my fluids in because I was constantly drinking trying to get rid of it. I think it was just a way my body reacted to the change. It went away for me about 2 1/2 week post op. At this time I was able to get all my fluids in so I think that helped to get rid of the constant cotton mouth. I say just drink as often as possible, I also brushed my teeth several times a day to try to get rid of it.
  5. So here I am day 4 post op. I cannot seem to get enough in. I have no idea how i'm going to stuff all this protein and fluid in me. Evertime I drink it feels like someone stabs me in the gut. I tried to set a timer. But that didn't work either. How long should it take me to drink an 8 oz bottle of water?
  6. Well I'm up and getting ready to head to the hospital for my surgery. I am super excited. The other thing is I have a slight head cold and I'm dreading waking up with a cough. Thats gonna hurt. I already called my dr and he said since I don't have a fever or anything I am ok to have surgery today. YAY!!

    Ugh, Unjury Tastes Like Butt!

Its really funny that you say tasts like butt. That is exactly what I thought of. I grossed my husband out so bad because I told him "Ugh this stuff tastes like someone farted in my mouth" He said "Really Nik thats nasty". He should try drinking it then haha. I think they all taste bad, its just a matter of finding one thats tolerable!!
  8. Ok so this may be tmi but I was wondering how soon after surgery I can have sex again. I have heard 6 weeks and that just really sucks! I have my appointment with my physician pre op on the 23rd but my mom is coming with me. I would rather not ask in front of her lol
  9. yes it is possible. False positives on a home test are very very rare. But you can have false negatives for sure. It just depends on the amount of the hormone your body produces. Do you have any other signs? Breast tenderness, darkened areolas, nausea, hightened sense of smell? There are lots of natural signs. With my second child I had a positive blood test but it wasn't until I was 4 months along that the home pregnancy test actually registers as positive.
  10. ya'll just made my evening thanks!!

    Obituary

Today I lay to rest one of my favorite supporters. Cheesecake, thank you for all the good times we had. Cheesecake made me feel better in hard times, and was always there to reward me for a job well done. Cheesecake was always there for every emotion willing and ready to either comfort me or Celebrate with me. Cheesecake was always at its best smothered in strawberries. While cheesecake was there for me in so many times of struggle, it was not without faults. Cheesecake was full of sugar and calories and so many times lead me into temptation. Cheesecake will be greatly missed but it is in a better place now, in the refrigerator of someone with a high metabolism and self control. Thank you cheesecake for everything. I will now turn to my husband for support when I am at my lowest and reward myself with a pedicure instead. That concludes the food funeral for my great friend cheesecake

I'm so very sorry to hear about your friend Pepsi. He is in a better place with cheesecake now. And though its hard to admit, we are in a better place without them as well.
  14. Hello all. I work for BCBS. My recommendation would be to just contact the insurance company. Policies can differ, the representatives are there to help and answer your questions. If you didn't have questions we wouldn't have jobs! I know here in Kansas City our FEP department is so nice. I'm not sure about other Blues, but if you have any questions at all I would call to clarify. This journey has so many other factors and your insurance reps can help to make that part of the process easier to understand.
