  1. Man its crazy to think that its almost been a year since I was sleeved. It seems like just yesterday. SOmetimes I look in the mirror and don't even recognize myself. But I'm really starting to like who I see now. I still have about 40 lbs to lose. But I'm almost there!
  2. My starting weight was 356 my current weight is 216 and I'm 5'4. My goal is 180 so I'm almost there. My anniversary is 02/29, and I am eating about 600 calories daily. Sometimes I get those calories in 3 meals, other days if I know I'm going to be snacky, I will eat about 6 little things during the day.

    Sleeved a year ago today...

So very exciting. I lost my way for about a month as well. I'm so very close to goal so I've decided its time to get back to it! I haven't been on VST in a while. I'm approaching my 1 year mark at the end of Feb. Its nice to be back and see all the motivating people, and see the progress of my friends that started the journey the same time as me. Congrats on your success you look great.

    Lack of motivation

Hey, I was sleeved 02/29 and I had the same problem. It was so hard to go from being sedentary to wanting to exercise. My suggestion would be to start small. Slowly work your way into it. Don't try doing 1 hr on the elliptical your first time. Remember even if its only 10 minutes of movement thats 10 minutes more than you were doing. Then I would either increase in 5 or 10 minute increments.
  7. It took me a few day. Milk of magnesia was my best friend. I'm 8 months out from surgery and still have to take it from time to time to get things moving.
  8. I am 6 months out and I have a wicked headache. I have been avoiding capsules but the only Tylenol we have in our house is in capsule form. The thought of opening it and mixing it with applesauce is making me wretch. Does anyone know if its cool take take capsule pills whole now, or do I have to open this gross thing up?
  9. So I had my surgery on Feb 29, 2012. I have lost 115 lbs and I'm coming up on the final 60 lbs. However I have stalled something fierce. I have not lost any weight the past 3 weeks. Did anyone else have a hard time with that final stretch. I heard you lose a majority of your weight in the first year. I really wanna reach my goal weight by Feb but at this rate its not gonna happen. Just wondering if the last 50-60 lbs was hard for anyone else.

    Taking Capsules After Surgery

Thank you, I'd almost rather just deal with the headache than take this nasty powder. I will have to call the surgeon and pester him.

    Drank 11 -Oz Slim Fast

I'm 8 months post op. Now I have absolutely no problems drinking and I can eat quite a bit more then I could in the beginning. At two weeks I didn't have problems drinking either. At this point the swelling in your stomach is going down and liquids pass through quite a bit easier than food. I was able to drink a whole protein shake at two weeks out too. I have lost 115 lbs in 8 months. I don't think I would be too concerned if I were you. Once you start eating food, you will see just how little you can actually consume.
  12. I have been feeling like the weight isn't coming off as fast as others. But now that I actually sit down and look at the fact that its only been 5 months since my surgery and I'm down 92 lbs maybe it is! I think its because it feels like soooo long ago that I was sleeved. I feel like its been at least a year, but its only been 5 months. The weight loss is starting to slow down a bit. But the first almost 100 in 5 months is not too bad. Yay! I'm halfway done!

  18. I saw a recipe on here from Emily Bites and decided to go and visit the site myself. I miss philly cheesesteak and french dip so much! But its just not the same without the bread. Adding that won ton makes these so great that its almost like having a real french dip, but its much easier on the sleeve! I just thought I would share with y'all that they were very very tasty and tolerable. They look cute too lol. http://www.emilybites.com/2012/01/french-dip-cupcakes.html

Thanks for those ideas!! I'm excited to start playing with different ingredients inside these sweet little things!! I may just use one wonton wrapper to save me some calories and stretch these a little further!!

    Reboot

I was sleeved 02/29 and have lost 76 lbs so far. But I have been stuck and cannot seem to get the scale to move for the past 2 weeks. It is driving me nuts. I have tried increasing my calories and lowering them. I do Zumba every night and alternate nights with weight training. So the only thing I can think of is to reboot my system. Tomorrow I'm bringing protein shakes back and I'm going to be more mindful of what I eat. I think I may be snacking more than I should and I may be falling back into old habits. So its time to stop that right now! I've got my cottage cheese, protein shakes and tuna ready to go. Time to get that scale moving again!!

Made It Thru My First Zumba Class!

I love Zumba. Did a 45 minute class tonight. I probably look like a total tool doing it, but it is so much fun!!! Once I started doing the Zumba it broke the stall I was in and I have continued to lose consistenly now. It really helps!!
  24. Do you have a recipe for the cottage cheese pancakes?
