  1. My surgery was March 1 and have reached my goal months ago and have maintained my weight I am thrilled with my new life and new body
  2. Congrats. How much did you lose? I also just hit 6 months and lost total of 75 lbs. Haven't lost in 4 weeks anything but being I have never had a stall I ain't complaining. I'm pretty close to my goal anyway.
  3. Had severe sleep apnea before. Besides the loud snoring I actually woke up few times in middle of night gulping for air. Scared the heck out of me. I work in nursing homes and someone was admitted after suffering a stroke due to sleep apnea and its one of the reasons I ended doing the surgery. 5 1/2 months later and 75 pounds lighter, my wife does not hear a sound and I sleep like a baby.
  4. My breaking point was all my medical issues due to being almost 300lbs. Borderline diabetic, severe sleep apnea, high BP, achy body all over. I couldn't breathe just putting on my socks. Now 4 1/2 months postop all all of my issues are GONE. I am a new man. I have lost close to 70lbs total. Have never thrown up but like others have said. Listen to your body and the warning signs when you get full. But for those of you who are nervous or scared or not sure what surgery to get, the sleeve is the way to go in my opinion. It will change your life and yes it's not easy at first but as time goes by it gets better and better.
  5. My wife had the band 10 years ago but back then I didn't need the surgery. When it came time for me to choose I went with the sleeve after seeing all the problems she's had with the band. But now she sees how successfull I was she wants the sleeve but dosent weigh enough for insurance to pay for it!!
  6. Jenny that's is exactly what I'm talking about. You described it much better then I did. My skin was sensitive to heat before the surgery more then the average person so I'm wondering if that's the reason here too.
  7. I am 3 1/2 months out and doing great. One issue I am having is the sensitivity on my belly where they cut me. At times it even hurts when I touch it. Is anyone having these issues? Is this normal after this amount of time?
  8. Today is 3 months for me and have lost 56 lbs. but most of it was the first 2 months. The last 4 weeks I only lost 5 lbs but I am not complaining.
  9. Ive had regular coffee since 1 week out and have lost 54 lbs in 11 weeks. I was a diet coke addict but that I stay away from.
  10. I'm 45 and 3 months later I finally feel younger then I am. 54 lbs can do that to you lol. Good luck!
  11. I am 10 weeks out and doing well and I have found that some foods I LOVED eating before now literally make me nautious. Im not talking about many foods just a few. Has anyone else had the same experience? Does it change as time goes on?
  12. Sleeved March 1 starting weight was 290 surgery weight was 273 and now I am down a total of 52# at 238. Wow! All my previous medical issues are gone!! Can eat just about anything now and I love how the sleeve forces you to have portion control. No more overeating like I use to.
  13. I'm also at 9 weeks and have lost 52 lbs with 48 to go. I also haven't started working out but want to now. Feel great and eating almost everything. Are you guys eating as well almost anything you want? Obviously healthy foods and not junk.
  14. My wife got the band 10 years ago and till today throws up at times because of food getting stuck. After seeing her struggles over the years when it came to my surgery I chose the sleeve and boy am I glad I did. I'm now 9 weeks out and have not vomited once. With the sleeve you can eat just about all foods as supposed to the band some foods will always get stuck. just one example I can eat pasta or lomein already with no issues and she can't even after all these years. Don't get me wrong there are a lot of similarities but just go to the section on here on revisions and see the comments there. Good luck on your decision. Oh btw I have already lost 51 lbs!!
  15. Went out last night and to my surprise I was able to eat a lot of the lomein. Went down no problem. Had a few pieces of the chicken. I am at 8 1/2 weeks and down 51 lbs.
  16. I agree it is too early for chicken. I am 8 weeks out and now I can eat a drumstick at the most. I had also 2 small pieces of grilled chicken.
  17. Was sleeved March 1 and I am down 50 lbs. I have officially entered my first stall and have been same weight for last week and half. I expected it so it does not bother me. Otherwise I am eating almost everything and enjoying my new life.
  18. I moved to solids one week before I was supposed to and it went fine. Today is 6 weeks and I've lost 45 pounds and eating almost everything.
  19. One reason why I posted the question to begin with was because someone told me that her brother and sister-in-law both had WLS and her brother lost all of his needed weight and couldnt stop losing and became very very thin. He was weak all the time and he became a different person. I would assume in most cases your body knows when it is time to stop losing and then you just maintain the proper weight you should be.
  20. I second that. It was obviously a joke and in no way we would act like children racing with our lives! Crystal I understood from the start what you meant.
  21. You got a deal Crystal lol. Good for you and it's nice to know someone else is losing as quickly as me. And we're the same date sleevers too!!
  22. I am male. I do take vitamins daily and I have definately lost muscle mass and plan on starting to work out again. Thanks for your comments. When did your hair start falling out?
  23. Was sleeved March 1 and as of today I am down 43 lbs. Lost 17 from preop liquid diet. I see a lot of people complaining about stalls and don't get me wrong I love that I'm losing weight I just don't want to lose too quickly. I am eating and drinking ok. I have already started eating a bit of solids so I am for sure getting in most of my protein. My goal is 100lbs and I know I will get there but not in 3 months! Am I crazy for thinking like this? I haven't even started excercising.
  24. Crystal I was also sleeved 3/1 and because I can't eat much I've lost 43 lbs already. No way I can get in 65 grams of Protein yet. I have just started experimenting solid foods and it's not easy. Drinking the required amt of Water is also still difficult. Btw 17 of the 43 lbs was from preliquid diet
  25. Amazing!! Do you mind me asking how much you weighed when you started?
