  1. Oh, man, I thought that said,"Splitting Up", a thread about divorce. I gotta get new glasses. That tummy just got traumatized. I could barely drink a thimble full for a week. It gets better.
  2. Welcome to the new band.....brothers and sisters of the sleeve. Our numbers are growing but our belts are shrinking.
  3. 64 here. Check my signature. Sleeve done me good. You're a young'n.
  4. I love my Peanut Butter whey shakes with banana. I only get one after a good workout. You can increase your running speed easily by doing it in rough neighborhoods.
  5. They took part of your stomach out, they didn't add anything but staples. They did not add will power. Your head brings that into the picture. Sleeving does not eliminate the need for will power, it just gives it help. It does not choose food for you. It comes down to how you are willing to fight: fight with the sleeve to be slim and healthy or fight against the sleeve for the right to indulge to your own detriment. This appetite bully thing is not as big as it appears to you. Back it down. Get mad, get mean, kick it's butt!
  6. I regret that I didn't fully appreciate my slim body that I had in my 20's. Now that I have it back I'm making up for it. Yeehaw!!!
  7. Terrible. Prayers for everyone there.
  8. Exercise...find something you like and do it. Make it fun..you can do it.
  9. Man, urinating out the left ear! That would have come handy the times I was stuck in traffic jams and my kidneys were busting. Roll down the window...aaahhh! Ya, every time I have told someone about sleeving they have known of someone who knows of someone that gained it all back or had big complications. It comes with the territory I guess.
  10. I was guessing Smoky Mountains. Where in Ohio was that? I moved from Ohio last year to Florida. Ran an alligator out of my garage last week with a flag pole. Danger, danger, danger! What a beauty!
  11. I do weights no more than 3 times a week and one of those days is a very intense HIIT with weights on my feet and in my hands running up a steep hill which I complete in about 20 minutes. Cardio has never worked for me. It always seems to run me down and lead to injury and sickness. Lifting has always worked for me. The HIIT seems to a cross between the two. I also keep the calories up especially on workout days when I hit the whey and glutamine and night supplements, (Animal Packs).
  12. I will check this out, Fiddleman! I am wondering how the foot thing will affect me. The chemotherapy I had for prostate cancer left a numbness in my feet, mostly on the left side of my left foot and the big toe area of my right foot. I never could get a plausible explanation about why this happened from the docs. I think it is pretty obvious that the chemo, which attacts fast reproducing cells, damaged some nerves. I would love to find out that something could be done to make it better but it is nothing I can't live with.
  13. Weights can be used around injuries. You just avoid using the parts that are injured. Since your lower body is the pain area upper body workouts are in order and working in lower body exercises very lightly and carefully will help. Aerobics can be had many ways. It's just a matter of raising your respiration and heart rate up for an extended period of time. Legs are just the easy way since they have the biggest muscles.
  14. Welcome, Tampa, from Dade City.
  15. Hi from Dade City. Welcome!!
  16. I did that this morning. Then I remembered it took me 16 months to get here.
  17. Looks like the only help you could give yourself and still take in Protein powders is staying up on removing the oilyness of your skin. I would guess that you probably stay at your skin regimen already. My mother had pimple breakouts well into old age, I don't. You said certain protein powders give you problems. That may be a break for you. Experiment and conclude which ones get the job done and still leave you smooth. Walmart protein powders bind up my bowels like a calf at a rodeo. The higher priced ones I order from the web don't.
  18. Sorry, Susan. I posted, second one down, with a GOLD STAR before I realized it was from the Powder Room. I was so enamored by my cleverness I didn't have the heart to delete it or at least reduce it to a period. I will try to be more aware of which forum I am posting on and not sneak into the ladies room like a pervert any more.
  19. My 81 year old, eccentric but lovable brother-in-law announces loudly to everyone, anywhere, anytime that my stomach is like a banana and my RNY wife's stomach is like a shot glass and we did it to ourselves. They normally just look at me like I'm a specimen from the Ripley's Museum. It's a good thing that I don't give a rat's backside what people think about it.
  20. I am wondering if post-op time is like early childhood. Traumas received then stay with you for your whole life. Hot and sour soup was the first food that came back on me. I went to my local Chinese restaurant and got my usual quart of egg drop soup which is a great post-op food and decided to get a quart of hot and sour, too. Hot and sour was my all-time favorite. It's flavors cut through to my deadened taste buds during chemo therapy and gave me relief from no taste food when nothing else would. But, alas, it would not stay down and hasn't even yet.
  21. Hot and sour Soup. I wanted to cry.
  22. Good news, your marriage to healthy food was not registered with the clerk of courts so you were not officially married! However, mayor Bloomberg may employ the IRS to drag you to NYC, jail you, and feed you oatmeal and tiny slushies. One binge does not a lifetime ruin. Mentally kick yourself in the butt and then resume your journey to Slim City.
  23. I was dreadfully skinny. It started changing after I got married. I have several theories why that happened but I blame it on marrying a good cook.
