  1. Getting back. 40 pounds over goal. Downward spiral ends now!

  2. I have gained back an extra 10 pounds. My wrists and back have problems so my activity level has decreased. These extra 10 are not long for this world. I will work them off even if I have to take up belly dancing...:D

nice to see you - oh those aches and pains are awful - hope you feel better soon and are able to return to your normal active self - hope the wife is fine too - happy holidays - kathy

  3. Hi, everybody! I am still alive and at goal. My weak wrists have somewhat curtailed my strenuous exercise but I am still in reasonable shape for a guy pushing 66. Missing you guys.

      Welcome back G-Man !

  4. I haven't updated in a long time. I am still under goal, in great shape, very tan due to extended time in the Florida sun. At least it is sort of a tan...or the convergence of many freckles.. :D

I can't get the chat to work for me. I am trying to access it on my ipad but get a doofus message about getting the admin to configure it.

  5. Hard labor this week, post hole digging in dense wooded area having to cut roots every few inches with a Saws-all. Also hauling lmany arge boards the 350 feet back through trails to the dock area where we are working. Sore everywhere but grateful to God that I have the energy and health to go get it done.

Stop all your whinning.....I've got you beat down here in South Fl. We have solid Coral Rock. One inch down and the ground is solid. I mean it breaks the teeth on backhoes. To plant a small plant I have to use a steel digging bar and a pick and it still takes a couple of hours to scratch a 6" dent in the ground.

Wow, Florida does present challenges! That dense wooded area I was talking about ended up giving me a bad case of poison sumac. The next weeks afforded little sleep and a lot of crabbiness. My relief was a scrub cslled Technu. It took days to get me anywhere though. There's a price to live in paradise! :D

  6. As many of you know I have been bragging about my 64 year old new slim and fit body by telling of my exploits at work with wheelbarrows, digging, 80 pound sacks of cement, and such. I think I have found my age....my back. Been getting "stuck" lately and have to take it easy. Muscles, heart, lungs..all is well..back is the weak link.

  8. Busy week, I tore apart a long dock, helped unload and move long poles and hauled much lumber manually, and helped buld a boat house. The Florida sun is blazing hot, I jumped in the lake today...felt pretty good. I am getting quite a tan. Debbie has noticed. :D

  9. I worked at my niece's large lakeside home yesterday. Those of you from the deep south in the USA will know what Spanish moss is. It grows on trees and bushes and hangs down giving everything a mystical, lazy, decorative softness. I hate the stuff!! I had to get up on a tall ladder with a little rake and pull the junk off of her large Crepe Myrtle tree. I am not fond of heights. The stretching and fighting with the miserable plague has me very sore today.

  10. I ran up ""killer hill", (fat killer, that is :D ), 12 times, full speed with 2 1/2 pound weights on each foot and carrying a 20 pound kettlebell, 30 seconds a run. The kettlebell was a little awkward but I held it out in front of me, then switched to left side and then right side. I did my last 2 runs with the kettlebell overhead. I feel like I have officially exercised this morning. :D

  11. Due to a dear friend being in the hospital and requiring my help every day I have not been able to do exercises this week. I have lost 3 pounds, I am now down to 216, 4 pounds past my goal of 220. This confirms my theory that exercised muscles hold water until they are allowed to rest for a longer period. When I resume full blown exercise we will see where my weight levels out.

  12. Up to 12 times up "killer hill" on Monday, full speed, 30 seconds at a time, with 5 pound hand weights. Time to step up the hand weights to 71/2 pounds. I might have to do less times up the hill. My belly continues to shrink even though my weight is pretty constant. Still drinking Amazing Green Grass drink in the morning with a bit of green tea extract and stevia. Loving it!

  13. 10 times up "killer hill" this morning, full speed, 5 pound weights in each hand. Bodyblade before and push-ups afterward, quick shower and took my blood pressure: 130/76. Not bad for a 64 year old guy who used to take 2 ProcardiaXL and stiil was around 150/90. Now on no meds, no apnea, no diabetes, and plenty of fun!

  14. I ran up "killer hill" 8 times with 5 pound weights in each hand on Monday for HIIT. Bodyblade and push-ups on Wednesday. On Friday, legs only, knee bends and calf raises. The new Amazing grass green powder is working out well. I hit it first thing in the morning. It is helping me sleep and contributing to a general feeling of well-being.

  15. I did HIIT yesterday, I ran 8, 30 second intervals at full speed while carrying a 20 pound kettle bell. Also walked and pumped the thing various ways for 45 minutes. I followed it up with a nice shake made of ON natural Pro Complex protiend powder, 10 grams of micronized glutamne, natural peanut butter, and no fat milk. At night I took a pack of Animal PM rest and recovery pills. I am feeling pretty good today outside of a bit of soreness in the thighs.

  16. Took up dancing yesterday morning. I was putting seed in my bird feeder and felt a little tickle on my feet. I looked down and they were covered with fire ants. The little demons stealthily crawl on you and then, by chemical cue, all bite at once. They had just started the asault when I saw them so I did my foot slapping dance and jumped around like a chimp on angel dust. They put some minor welts on me but nothing serious. They have attacked me before and I had sores that took months to heal....

  17. I put up pics of Deb and me in Success Stories. It was fun taking our pictures this morning. Granddaughter Emily ran the IPad.

  18. Goal weight of 220 has been attained! Pictures shall be forthcoming. We are having difficulty locating suitable before pictures.

  19. I wnt to an outlet mall with my nephew and family. I bought some clothes he recommended and now I'm dressing like I'm in my 20's. I feel like I am most of the time.

  20. Now I am getting into HIIT, High Intensity Interval Training. Short bursts of full out running followed by short periods of walking , 8-12 cycles. Intense it is and I think effective. I feel energized afterward rather than run down like after long exercise periods.

  21. I increased my kettlebell size to 20 pounds. I went on a 45 minute walk and run with my wife yesterday while swinging it around. I had to take a nap soon afterward. :o)

  22. Exercise is going well! 1/2 hour walk with 15 pound kettlebell, Bodyblade, push-ups, and kneebends with the kettlebell. Tired but happy.

  23. Big coaster fun and walking today at Busch Gardens with the family. Yeehaw!
