  1. Don't get discouraged! My scale went up 2 lbs (prob. water) and I know it is just a matter of time before I lose it and several more pounds. It has to go down! There's only 1 way for it to go from now on and that's down!
  2. Someone on another forum said this "eat raw garlic for ten days.. no more h Pilori. dice up raw garlic and eat a tablespoon twice a day for ten days. just put it in a small glass of Water and drink it" So I might try this. I was treated for H. Pylori before my surgery and somehow I still was positive after and the treatment is horrid. I gag every time I think it's time for my medication.
  3. Anyone had to get treatment for this after being sleeved? Dr said my stomach was sent for biopsy and I have this and now I'm having to take the worst meds for this. They smell and taste like crap and I want to puke every time I take them. If you had the same issue, how did you do it? The pills are freakin' horse pills.
  4. I'm a single mom of 3 boys.
  5. Still single??? Wow, I wouldn't imagine you'd stay on the market this long!
  6. Congrats on the progress so far! I am almost 3 weeks out and the Doctor cleared me to exercise from day 2 (walking) and just saw him yesterday and he said I can use my elliptical trainer and in another couple of weeks I can start weights. Everyone is different though.
  7. You know, I love watching those videos! They inspire so much. If you do become one, I'd like to follow you on there. I am too shy to do the videos but I will probably post before and after pictures and then put them on youtube. The only thing is that I look so different when I am thin and when I am heavy that nobody ever believes my pictures. lol
  8. I got very lucky! I didn't have to do an extended liquid diet. I only had 1 day before surgery on liquids and nothing after midnight the night before surgery. I also didn't have to do a swallow test.
  9. I am almost 3 weeks post-op and I was told between 400-600 and I usually end up consuming an average of 530 or so. The calories consumed largely depend on what your Dr and/or your NUT tell you and what phase you're in.
  10. It helped me with weight loss but never hear of it preventing weight loss.
  11. Skin Brushing... it tightens skin and rids you of cellulite. Coconut oil mixed with msm applied to your skin daily. Supplement w Magnesium, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Zinc, oral MSM. Good luck!
  12. Lol, some people post while at the hospital!

  14. Ladies, the best advice anyone gave me and I can give you is don't do the daily weigh-in! It will just kills your spirits. You will all lose, give it time! I was doing the same and everyday I was upset and started feeling down. I am glad I am no longer torturing myself this way and when I do get on the scale, I have lost 3 pounds maybe 2 or 1 but it's a loss and I feel it in the way my clothes fit. I tried on a pair of jeans today (size 16) that prior to surgery I was not able to pull up past my thighs and guess what? it fit! I was so excited and that felt way better than whatever the scale would have said this day. I encourage you to be positive and walk, walk, walk! It will pay off, my lovely ladies! God bless you all!
  15. I was ok'd by the Dr to take Benadryl pills so I took 2 last night and fell asleep. Finally! I didn't even want to get out of bed in the morning because I feared not being able to sleep again! lol I think I'll be taking Benadryl from now till things get back to normal.
  16. Yeah, your immune system weakens after surgery so it's to be expected. Take some extra zinc, vitamin D3 and vitamin C (of course check with your Doc 1st) but that should hopefully help.
  17. Poor thing! I hope you can also get some sleep soon!
  18. lol I hear you! While I was in the hospital, I was given Lortab and while it didn't take away my pain, it did knock me out. So... the other night when I was wide awake and unable to sleep, I decided.. hey! I can take some more Lortab and knock out tonight and OMG!!! I so regretted that after I took it. It made me hyper and what ever sleepy feeling I had was wiped away and my heart was pounding and racing fast and hard. I really couldn't sleep after that thinking I was going to stroke out. It had never done that to me till that day. I guess much more changes than just the size of our tummies.
  19. Thanks! I hope so too! Since it is only a little over 2 weeks since I had my surgery I'm pretty limited on carbs, actually mostly proteins and the carbs I usually get are in yogurt or cottage cheese or veggies but yeah, they are pretty low at this point and that probably has a lot to do with it too because prior to my surgery I'd get soooooo sleepy after eating carbs. Nothing like a plate full of carbs to know me out then! lol Now I don't have that and I'm eating only 400-600 calories and my body just doesn't know how to react! lol
  20. lol, I started getting excited and anxious too right before and although I lost some sleep, it wasn't as bad as it is now. Take it easy and rest up for now!
  21. I'm on pureed foods now but still low calorie, that makes sense though. I would have thought I'd be more tired than usual on a low cal diet but I guess everyone's body reacts differently and mine is just full of energy now.
  22. It's just been frustrating because I am usually a good sound sleeper but lately that's all changed. Thank God i'm still on leave but I don't know what I will do next week when I go back to work. I have a Dr appt for tomorrow and I am definitely going to bring this up to him.
  23. Wooohoo! 3 whole ounces! you lucky dog! hahaha! I am barely able to get in 1 ounce and yesterday I had to split 1 ounce of pureed chicken up into 2 meals! wth?? lol super full too!
