  1. I use coconut oil spray a non-stick pan!
  2. @@KS123 - I was 46 when I got my lap-band and 58 when I revised to the sleeve. You are, definitely, not alone. In fact, you're practically a youngster! I'm now 59!
  3. The "dreaded 3 week stall"! Mine lasted 2 1/2 weeks. Not everyone is the same, though.
  4. My son is 3 years out and he can drink soda and beer! I'm not saying it's a good idea, but he can, without trouble!!! Oh, and he's maintaining his goal and looks fabulous!
  5. I just finished ordering the powders unjury starter pack! Oh God, I hope this works!!! My Protein was fine, before surgery. After, it nauseated me...badly!!! Now, I gag when I think about it & I can smell it everywhere!!!
  6. Mine lasted about a week, then got much better. I don't even think about it now. Everyone's different though!!! Good luck & feel better!!!
  7. That's weird! My bariatric surgeon's is ALWAYS higher. I go see him Thursday and I hope I'm not disappointed! I know this didn't help, but I needed to vent on the subject! Sorry!
  8. I do my protein shake and vitamins right before I go to bed. This worked for me.
  9. My "dreaded 2 week stall" lasted 2 1/2 weeks. It's a common problem. Your body thinks you're starving it and holds on to as much as it can. IT WILL END!!! But it is kind of discouraging, but try not to let it get you down. This too, shall pass!!!
  10. I didn't have a drain. I guess some doctors don't put one in, or it depend on the patient!
  11. I was sick as a dog the day before surgery. Coughing, sinuses congested, the whole nine yards. CE24 was right. As long as you don't have fever and your chest is clear, there's no problem. And you're a week out. Get some Tylenol Severe Cold & Flu. I took it up until the day before surgery. Quit worrying...you'll be fine!!!
  12. I was 2 weeks out, but only because my husband was scared he'd hurt me. I would have been good at a week out, maybe sooner. Remember the missionary position isn't the only way to have sex. He doesn't have to get close to your incisions at all. Make sure it's comfortable for you. I'm sure he won't care!!! My libido hasn't changed at all, so far! People are all different! Don't sweat it!!!
  13. HELP!!!! I'm asking for help here because I don't want to get sick of the same food, over & over again! I would love to hear from people who have already started eating solids & also from those how are in the same place I am. I've eaten fish and chicken, but it's kinda getting old! I mean they taste good, spices and all, but I'm kinda of over it!! I need some, actual, recipes!!!
  14. @@2/2015RN - Make sure you're using sugar free cough drops!!!
  15. Oh, I just thought of something else. Spicy foods. I am from the New Orleans metro area and we eat spicy food. I've always love it. Ever since surgery, spicy food makes me cough...a lot!!! Whether it's just black pepper, or highly spicy, I cough! It's like I'm overly sensitive to it! I sure hope this goes away!!!
  16. I tried an abundance of protein shakes prior to surgery. I FINALLY found one I like...prior to surgery!!! I started drinking it after surgery and from day one, it's disgusting!!! It makes me soooo sick to my stomach. I have to drink it right before I go to bed, or I'm useless!!! I get nauseous, sweaty, gassy, etc! Just UGH!!!
  17. 2oz is about my max and at a month out, I guess that's kinda normal. Not to say that yours isn't. There are different sized sleeves and everyone is different in how they loose!!!
  18. If you're getting your protein in your hair shouldn't fall out. I would check that first, besides consulting your doctor! That's a must!!!
  19. I can't even imagine drinking a soda! The bubbles would kill me!
  20. A lot of insurance companies require their patients to diet for a period of time prior to surgery. This diet sometimes lasts 6 months to a year. If I could do that, there wouldn't be any need for the surgery. In fact, my doctor's preop was only the day before on Clear liquids, but I was self-pay!
  21. Sounds like your eating too much. That's the only time I get the burps!
