I was a food addict and still am but the sleeve prevents me from overeating too much. I slipped around the holidays and gained 30 lbs back because I kept eating slider foods. I didn't think I could gain weight back after being sleeved but I sure learned my lesson. Now I track everything I put in my mouth and eat under 1200 calories a day. I make sure that I exercise at least 30 minutes daily as well. I have anxiety too and take meds for it, which increases my appetite.

awesome good for you!!

I felt like that too at first but it goes away after a couple months. Don't eat to fill full, eat until you are no longer feeling hungry or empty inside.I hate the too full feeling.

great job!! I'm now a medium and going towards a small when before, only 4x would fit. YAY!!!

I made this last night but put in almond flour (ground up almonds) so it was thicker and tasted more like bread. It was very filling. I could only eat 2 small slices.

The first 6 months I lost 100 lbs then when I lost my job I gained 30 lbs because I kept eating so many slider foods due to depression. Now I've lost 10 lbs of that and trying to go back down with a new lifestyle change of eating low carb and high Protein.< /p>

Do you have any co-morbidities like sleep apnea, diabetes, etc? They will cover it at 35 if so. I was perfectly healthy with a BMI of 42 so was covered with no problem.

Thanks all for the encouragement and support.

I can't believe it that I'm overweight and no longer obese!! This is great! I don't know why I'm so happy about being overweight but I am. BMI is less than 30!!!! I used to be 42 before surgery.

It is cheaper to eat only an appetizzer or off the children's menu. You could even share a meal with someone.

I think I would of had the bypass if I did it all over again. The reason is that I crave carbs and fatty foods so can eat a ton of them with the sleeve. I only feel full if I eat meat.< /p>

Yes I have had excessive Hair loss. Luckily no more is falling out but its really thin compared to what im used to.

I'm always feeling that way! I can't eat much so thank God for that or I'd be 400 lbs again.

Thanks all for the support. I have lost 10 lbs since this post by being on a mostly liquid diet (protein shakes).

This is the only place I can share this and know that people will understand. I tried on size 14 jeans today at Target, and they fit! They looked good. I can't believe how small my legs look in them. I don't EVER remember wearing 14s, even in high school I wore 16s. This sleeve is amazing! Does anyone else have to fight the urge to go up to plus size strangers and share your surgical success story with them?
No way. That would be very rude and might make them feel bad. I know I would if someone did that to me when I was huge. Just saying!

Hi! It's been almost 1 year out (sleeved Dec 6th 2011) and I think I'm just gaining weight back. My lowest was 205 in the summer but now I weigh 235!! I had a rough summer with getting laid off so gained back some weight because of it and could not afford my Vitamins. I got a new job now so am trying to lose weight again and taking the vitamins. My hair is falling out so is now very thin. I'm used to having a thick head of hair. Right now I put myself on a liquid diet for awhile so I can lose the 30 lbs and get back on track. I feel I should have lost way more by now so feel like a failure. My weight before surgery was 300+ and highest I been was 400. I'm still glad that I had the sleeve because there is no way I could have lost 70 lbs on my own. Does anyone have any advice on how I can get back on track?

I've lost lots of hair myself so now its very thin. I have no bald spots so I think my hair is regrowing. It looks awful but I rather have the weight gone then thick hair.

I have loose skin on my arms, belly and thighs but I think it will tighten over time. If not, there is always plastic surgery. I started the Zumbaa game on XBOX Kinect two weeks ago. I will take the class option on there on moderate level.
