  1. Wow 12 miles! I don't even wanna drive 12 miles. LOL Great Job! Down from a 24 to an 18 in just 3 weeks. Amazing! Reading this just make me even more impatient while wating for my date!!!! LOL
  2. Don't know why the subject line came out like that but it should say "Were you a DD cup prior to surgery".
  3. Thanks guys. I actually can't even get a chance to speak with Jeanie. Everytime I call, I'm being sent to Cathy Coleman and she is clueless and no help at all. I actually asked her about the "ready to go anytime" list and she pretended to have no clue of what I was talking about. I was able to get her to tell me that there were 17 people ahead of me. Ugggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! How am I supposed to wait that long!!!!!! This is killing me. I wanted this over and done with before the summer hit. Doesn't look like that's going to happen though. Kaiser really needs to get some more surgeons on board who can perform this surgery. This is ridiculous. It took over a year just to get approved now I'm looking at another who knows how long just to get it done. Very frustrating. Thanks for all you guys' input though.
  4. Whoaaaaa! Don't hurt em diva!!!!!! All that weight loss with no loose skin???? I don't know whether to say congratulations or to hate you!!!! LOL I hope I'm as lucky when I get my sleeve. You look amazing!
  5. Also, spaghetti & meat sauce works well frozen. You can easily brown your meat (ground beef, turkey or whatever) and package that in freezer bags as well. When you're ready to eat it, you can thaw the meat in the microwave, add your favorite sauce, reheat, top with parm cheese, and voila! In place of the pasta, you can try it over shredded zuchinni or a (I'm sure I botched the spelling - LOL).
  6. I haven't been sleeved yet but I would just like to offer another suggestion on the canning jar idea. If you don't want to invest in the actual jars, the same thing can be done with ziplock freezer bags. I actually do this now with my chilli, sauces, casseroles, etc. Just package them in the quart size bags (you can fill half or quarter full) and grab one out of the freezer in a pinch. They can easily be thawed in the microwave or by emersing the bag in water. Pop in a bowl, heat, and you're good to go.
  7. I know for a lot of people the reflux, gas, etc. is pretty bad initially after surgery. For those that have pretty much healed and quite a bit of time has passed, did the surgery improve your reflux or eliminate it all together?
  8. CHELL

    Sleeved!

Congrats! Can't wait until I'm full of gas and feeling uncomfortable just like you. LOL
  9. Awesome! I'm jealous! I haven't even gotten the surgery date yet. LOL
  10. Sorry Guys, I just had to get that out. I've been waiting since October for the surgeon's office to call with my surgery date. I know they told everyone at the seminar not to repeatedly call them asking for the date but come on. I was told he was about 4 months behind back in October but I'm coming up on 4 months of waiting and they haven't even called with the date. I'm so impatient and I want this NOW!!! Whenever I try to call the office, I just get a machine and they never return my call. I guess everyone calls though so they probably just don't have the time. Thanks for letting me vent for a minute. Ugggghhhh this is so frustrating. I guess the hardest part is over though - actually getting approved. I want my sexy body by spring dammitt! Come on!!! )
  11. Capt. D - I've only been able to find vanilla or chocolate. Where did you find the unflavored kind? I typed in trueprotein.com but it took me to truenutrition.com and a search of the product turned up nothing.
  12. @ Sabrina - Yes, I've actually been approved and went to see the surgeon in October. I have Kaiser Insurance so I'm limited to my surgeon choices in my area. He did tell me he had a 4 month waiting list for surgery but I'm coming up on the 4 months and thought I'd at least know the date by now. This is so frustrating!!!!! @Capt. D - Thanks so much! I'll have to definitely give them. If I ever get a damn date that is. LOL Just kidding!
  13. Congrats! I've been waiting almost 4 months to get my date. Damn Kaiser!!!! BTW, love the name.
  14. Don't know why my posts keep showing that smiley at the end BTW. LOL
  15. Oh yeah, and I know Spring was kind of a stretch but I'd like to be sleeved and showing some kind of results by the time my cruise comes in October. )
  16. Capt. Derel - I actually haven't stocked up on anything yet. I figured I'd wait until I had the actual date and then make a mad dash to the store. I have however been trying different protein shakes to figure out which kind I like. I'm not a big fan of "milky" vanilla or chocolate drinks (hate chocolate milk) so I'm hoping to find some protein drinks that are more of a fruity juice nature. I'm still experimenting though.
  17. I want to be able to stop running and hiding when someone whips out a camera at an event. I have let so many uncaptured moments go by with my husband over the years because I hated the way I looked in photos. I used to love to take photos when I was younger. I want to feel that way again.
  18. Well Happy Valentine's Day to You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Am I the only one who's having an irrational fear that I may lose too much weight. The surgeon has assured me that this won't happen but I can't help fearing that once I have the surgery and begin losing, I won't be able to stop. I know this is crazy but has anyone else ever felt like this?
  20. Hi everyone. I'm new to the board. I finally got approved by my insurance and am just awaiting my date (surgeon is backed up about 4 mos.). Anyway, everyone around me keeps telling me there is no way I need to have this surgery. "You're not big enough" they keep saying. To put it in perspective, I'm 5'8 1/2 and weigh 245 lbs. After hearing this so many times, I'm starting to second guess my decision. I'm starting to get scared that I may lose too much weight. I'd just like to hear anyones thoughts who may have gone thru this. Thanks.
  21. Thanks so much for all the replies guys. And just to follow up, yes I was approved by my insurance (Kaiser). My BMI may not be the highest but I do have other co-morbidities so that's why I was approved. Thanks again everyone for your responses and support.
