I'm Jen from Wichita KS! I'm 28 years old, married for 8 years, and have a 7 year old son. I'm just starting my surgery journey for the second time. I applied for GBP 2 years ago through my old insurance Aetna, and I was denied twice because I did lose 50# on my own over the course of a year. However, as of today, I've regained 90#! In retrospect, I'm happy now I was denied because my only two options were the lapband and the GBP surgeries, and I just wasn't 100% comfortable with either. Now I am eligible for the sleeve with my new insurance, United Healthcare, and I am so exicted for it! I was never super skinny (I was anywhere from 150-180# and sizes 10-14) before I got married (and don't get me wrong, I was totally fine with that!); now 8 years later I haven't been under 200# even one day, and for the most part I've always been 240# or more (291# now). I just finished my 6 months diet requirement, now its on to the psych eval and seminar before my surgeon consult! Yay!
