  1. Thanks everyone! No, I didn't know that about Prilosec. Good to know about the erosion! I'll have to get that checked out. Thanks!!
  2. Hi All, I had surgery in Mexico in August. There is ALWAYS this hunger/ gnawing feeling. It was horrible the first day out of surgery..At the time I thought it was hunger pains, but learned it was acid. I've tried Prilosec, Zantac, you name it. But the gnawing comes and goes. Is this an ucler? Do I need an upper GI? Anyone else have this prob? THANK You all so much for reading!!!
  3. Krista, BELIEVE in yourself. I was in a NIGHTMARE relationship and will forever have the guy around, as I had a child with him. I did this weight loss surgery for myself in Aug and have never looked back. 45 pounds down, I feel like a new person. I'm starting to go online to the dating sites and whatnot and am still afraid to write the "cute" people. It's all about how you feel--- an attitude--- you DESERVE it. Whatever it may be in a man.. Go out and get it!!! I hope that philosophy works for me as well one day! Go for it! But again, it all boils down to YOU. Believe in yourself....
  4. Thanks everyone! I'll sound more educated now when people ask me. All I knew is that it sounded more dangerous and that it was more pricey. Haha.
  5. Hi! So, for me, this is kinda after the fact, since I am sleeved, but why did you all choose the sleeve vs. gastric bypass? They re-route your intestines for bypass, correct? Just curious why in your opinion, the sleeve is better than the bypass. Thanks!! (My friend's mom just did the bypass and it got my wheels in the brain turning.)
  6. Duh, I just noticed your posting is really old. Oops! Sorry! YOu can tell I'm tired! haha
  7. I'm also five weeks out and kinda hate life. Eating was ENJOYABLE before. I look at everyone longingly that they can actually eat yummy food. I'm so tired on the weekends that I'm basically worthless and just wait for me and my son's naptime! I hope this passes soon.
  8. I have that same yucky headcold from daycare. I was wondering if we could take anything. All good info! Feel better! I also got sleeved the same day as you. (In Mexico) Too funny!
  9. My Ex YELLED and screamed at me for WEEKS, months , years, and now, after Ive gone to Mexico. My parents have no idea I went. I lied and said I had to work that week and couldnt find daycare. Thank God my friends were 1000000 percent supportive. So, I feel you. My mother said the same kind of thing.... "you eat less with surgery, right, so why not do that without surgery"? They'd FREAK if they knew. Will I ever tell them? Sure, when Im thin and hot... But not now. So, I feel you. Hang in there. You need to do what's right for YOU. Sorry about the loan thing. I did mine on a credit card and did Dr Kelly , so he was a little less. But you'll find a way. Where there's a will.. there's a way!
  10. Aussie, I am 33 and am single. Was sleeved 2 weeks ago. I'm in your boat, sister! Cant wait to see what the future brings!! Bring it on, right?! But yeah, I mean I'll admit it scares me. I did this for ME and my son.. but you KNOW in the back of my mind I'll always think the chances after surgery to meet a decent guy should be better! Ya know? And what if they're not? A total disappointment. We shall see....
  11. Thanks everyone! Back to broth today... Blahhhh.
  12. EXACLTY. Everything but popsicles sit in my throat. I'll try the pureed chili. Good idea! Hot chocolate at work seems to be my friend also. And that's about it. Thanks for the tips!
  13. Hello again party people! I know Dr Kelly said no advil or anything like that. Umm, so I guess Tylenol is the only option, correct? I forgot to ask! All of these questions seem to come as I trod along.. Baby steps! Thanks!!
  14. Hello! It seems like I'm always starving and when I eat a bite of cottage cheese, it just hurts going down. Were you all still on the broth stage at this point? Thanks!
  15. I thought it was something like 30-35 percent gain the weight back?
  16. Dr Kelly ROCKS my SOCKS. You ladies are in good hands. Today is my last day before I leave for home tomorrow. Am enjoying the quiet time in the hotel. Ahhhh.
  17. I can't believe you're already online, you tough broad you! Haha! Finally got online the next morning.. took me a while to muster up the strength to grab the laptop. 3rd day today though and I feel great. Sounds like you're doing awesommmme!!! I'm sure I'll see you in the post op diet section, baby!!!
  18. Ahh, this is SO helpful!!! Thanks Suzanne! I'm liking the whole mint cookie protein shake idea. Gotta go find it!
  19. Hi Scorch! Awww, thanks! Nope, am at Hotel Lucerna. It's gorgeous. I had some lay out by the pool time and longlingly looked at all the people eating this FAB restaurant food. Very impressed! Sad about my lack of food and martinis though. the food really does look excellent.
  20. I'm single too! I feel so out of the loop being like the only non-married person on here. I just got surgery 2 days ago. Let me know how the dating goes! You will be FINE. Don't worry about the loose skin. Too bad none of you ladies live near me.. We could go out for a drinkie and get smiles from the men! haha
  21. Yes! I live in Glendale. I'm actually in Mexico now, recovering from surgery. Sexi Mexi, baby! Sounds good.
  22. Just got sleeved with my HERO, Dr. Kelly! Anyone else in the area? He was saying I should attend meetings? Does anyone do this? A buddy/ buddies would be great!
  23. Wannasleeve- you are in GREAT hands. Was just out by the pool enjoying the fab pool scenery. Good luck! Kelly, Thanks again-- you really helped calm my fears!!! Slhopps- I went through successfullyslimmer.com and went through Chistie. Trish and Sandi are also coodinators. Trish actually visits you on site, she'll come in twice a day to make sure you're OK. The downpayment was 2K. I put that cash up front and credit carded the rest. At least for now. Figured I'll put a chunk of a payment down. I have a s****eating grin on my face knowing what a GREAT investment this is. Do it!
