When did you feel good post op
FishingNurse posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey everyone! I was sleeved Tuesday and came home yesterday. I wasn't prepared for the aftermath of surgery that's for sure! I feel much better than Wednesday but still very sore and having difficulty drinking enough. When did you feel at least pretty good? I can't wait! -
moving to soft foods - how to continue to get fluids in?
FishingNurse replied to MeMeMEEE's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Now that I started some mushies I have noticied I can drink fluids more easily now. I have had some mushy egg salad and chicken breast. It tatstes good. I notice for sure I can drink way more if I wait an hour after I eat. It makes a big difference. I can drink a 12oz of water in a hour or 2 if my sleeve is "empty" I don't even try to drink unless I know i am empty. I hope all goes well! -
You are both beautiful! Congrats!!

When did you feel good post op

I had very little nausea, and very little pain. I had this horrible air-trapped in my abdomen feeling. It was awful~ and I hated having a IV in. And I am a stomach sleeper and I couldn't do that until I got home. (ok, I am whining!) I really disliked the heparin injection in my stomach every 8 hours. I am a nurse and I hated the hospital. LOL Once I got home I was a new woman! I am thrilled about the 20lbs!!! -

It went well, the first 3 days post op were rough. But now I feel almost normal and I am advancing my diet. I am little low on energy, but I have lost 20lbs and I am getting like 500 calories a day at this point so I can't expect to feel like I am full on energy! People are noticing I have lost weight and it is so much fun! -
I asked my PA this same question. I got an "all clear" for franks red hot starting 2 weeks post op :-)

Low carb versus low calorie
FishingNurse replied to Jensharley's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Oh the low carb debate! We all know we should limit carbs but trust me I will NEVER cut anything I love of my diet completely when I know I can enjoy it (Pasta, sushi, etc!) once a week and can make it up by working out an extra hour or two that week! Also, the sleeve keeps that portion that would be huge before the surgery way more under control. -

I had my surgery Tuesday 8/9/2011 and I went back to work on Monday 8/15/2011. I work as a nurse at a busy clinic and I have felt just fine! Actually getting up and doing things helps me feel better. :-) -
Wow, you are so right! You are still allowed to miss your hair, and It will grow back!

We were sleeved the same day and I was beyond miserable until Friday too. I really took feeling well for granted. You WILL feel good again soon. I do and the weight is coming off quickly and it will be sooooo worth it! -
