  1. you're not doing anything wrong, you probably had lots of swelling-- I did too and it subsided after about 5-6 weeks.
  2. looks perfect to me. I wouldn't worry about beef. You will probably be able to eat 2oz or less at once. I'm almost 20 months post op and still can't eat a small burger. (Like a single from culvers) I take off the top bun and eat 1/2 to 3/4 of it when I get a craving a couple times a month.
  3. Crackers for sure. Cheezits in particular. My favorite unfortunately. :-/
  4. Yes! Zero loose skin. 92 pounds to be exact. But my goal weight was very modest. I'm a size 10-12, medium, some larges. But I'm thrilled to be average. I didn't work out at all in my weight loss stage either.... I am working on it now for health reasons.

    how to get my protein?

yes I did for the first 4-6 months. There just was not room for both. It isn't as important now. I hope you feel better soon. Please keep us posted!!

    how to get my protein?

oh dear, I am sorry you are struggling. The first month is sooo hard. I can relate to what you are saying on many levels. Let me reassure you-- you will feel better. YOU WILL! I was the same way-- could NOT tolerate Protein drinks. So I didn't drink them. I realize I didn't get 65 grams a protein a day for more than a month, and I lived. Made goal, didn't lose all my hair, and I am so happy now. But I felt your worry and despair..... it gets better! What i did was-- focused on liquids 1st, and I did Greek yogurt, Soups blended, cottage cheese mashed up really well, really mashed up egg salad, re fried Beans.... in tiny amounts. 2 tsp max-- broken up in to like 12 bites every 2-3 hours of one of these. And one day will you notice you eat your two bites and then you will feel like 2 1/2 bites! And you will get stronger, and you will see the weight loss-- and hopefully you will feel like it has all been worth it. That's how I made it. Now I am 19 months out- almost 20 months and I am maintaining my goal for ONCE IN MY LIFE-- and can enjoy life as a normal sized person (size 10!)-- and enjoy (for example one medium-large slice of pizza and a beer on a Friday night with my fiance) I think once you are healed and start to see the new you it will be so happy! Hang in there it is hard for a least a month. Hugs to you!

    Crazy craving

Early on all I wanted was fish with tartar sauce! Lol I think odd cravings are normal early on after surgery.
  8. if I did Atkins induction diet to a T ( no shakes or Atkins brand foods, just leans meats And veggies, no sugar) yes for sure I would lose 10-14 pounds in 2 weeks. I have done in it the past. It's hard, but I works. I actually was a part of a "medical" weight loss program when I was 15 that my parents paid 8K for that had me on that diet so I'm kind of a pro. I started at 212 and I got down to the weight I am at now.... 175... At age 16. And when I was at my heaviest I was 24 I was 262. Now almost 30 years I weigh less then I did when I was 14. I love my sleeve
  9. I would do the induction phase of the Atkins diet. Google it! But if you do follow it to the t it will work!

    Cholesterol seven months out

Did you fast for 12 hours before the test ?? Consider retesting! I'm a RN in a clinic and if it's significantly higher after major weight loss I would recommended testing again, especially considering your doc wants to put you on meds. It could have been a fluke, it happens more than people think. Just my opinion.

    Staff after surgery?

Ok I just read on your leg! I thought you were talking about your incisions. So if you have had previous staph infections on your legs it could be back! I hope it a works out. Keep us posted

    Staff after surgery?

I think you mean Staph infection. :-) No need to worry that it is automatically a staph infection! Could be infected slightly but you won't know the causative agent unless the drainage is cultured. MRSA is a serious staph infection and hopefully you don't have that! If your doc thinks you need antibiotics it should clear, if it doesn't then you might get it cultured and get the right treatment. Keep us posted!

    Help! Smells making me sick

That was me exactly for the first 2 months post op. how far out are you? It went away luckily!

    Freaking out about pain.

Yikes! I didn't even go home from the hospital until my 3rd day post op! I honestly could not have taken care of 2 toddlers until a week post op. not trying to scare you. Your energy is low, and moving around is slow. It might be hard to keep up with the little ones! :-(

    Sushi

Give it a try. Take it slow!! You will find out. I tolerated it well, even early out. Everyone is different. Enjoy! Small bites

    5 1/2 OUNCES?

Honestly volume of food is not as important as content. I could eat that amount of food too. As long as you keep your cals and protien where you are supposed to it doesn't matter if you eat 1oz or 12oz. The sleeve is just a tool to help us stick with our plans. Don't freak out! You will notice your restriction change, and it's ok. Stick with a plan and you'll be successful!
  23. My surgeon wants us to wait at least 2 weeks- and do a chewable. Honestly it's up to you, you'll be ok if you don't have a vitamin for a few days!

    Sleeping on your stomach

I'm a stomach sleeper... So I asked when I could sleep on my stomach before I left the hospital and my surgeon said that night! (3rd day post op) you should be fine now at 9 days out
