  1. thats where I was at for a calorie count at 3 months. I made goal at 8.5 months! Some bodies work better with more calories.
  2. I honestly get hungry like before. I eat when I'm hungry. Big difference now is I am full and satisfied on (for example) 1 small slice of pizza not the entire thing!

    Wanted Minnesota Buddies

hey ladies-- MN girl here. I am a nurse at Park Nicollet too. My surgeon was Thomas Jones. I hit goal at 8.5 months out and have been holding steady since. I am so excited for you all!!!! Let me know if you have any questions! Anybody go to the support group every other Wed at Methodist? I go about once per month.... Lisa
  6. well- I am nearly a year out-- 10 months basically..... my day is as follows!!! breakfast: iced vanilla latte (not sugar free and made with 2% milk) 1 cheese stick, and a 6oz yogurt. snack: carrots and dip (not low fat) lunch:about 1/5th of a burrito bowl (3/4-1 cup total) with steak, rice, salsa, Beans, cheese and sour cream from chipotle. a few chips snack: 15 slices of turkey pepperoni Dinner: grilled chicken breast or fish (3oz)and a veggie. Snack: small chunk of cookie dough. :-)
  7. I had quite a few stretch marks. Our BMIs were probably similar to start. I am 5'4'' and started around 260... and I almost 29. I basically have zero loose skin! If you look closely you can see the stretch marks but they shrank a lot. I can mostly see them on my hips and sides of my breasts. I am pretty happy with my results! I do have to say that I am still pretty "thick" but that helps the skin and it is easier to maintain this weight..... Good luck!

    Goal Setting

I am a little odd here. I had a weight loss goal of 170 or less...... Thats almost 100 pounds down from my heaviest. It is not "thin" but I am average and healthy. I wear a medium top and size 10 in pants. That is fantastic to me. I have zero loose skin at this weight. I look normal. I know that I can maintain this weight forever. Couldnt be happier.

    Sleeve Or Bypass

I vote sleeve, but it depends on what your expectations are. I don't need to be 120lbs to be happy or healthy.

    Sag

I noticed when I was losing weight fast I would see this or that sagging, and a few weeks later the skin kind of catches up. Keeping hydrated, getting your protien in, and working helps too.....

Really Hating My Family Right Now :-(

the good part is in 6 months you can have 1 slice of pizza (and feel completely satisfied), and be very close to your goal weight and have a tool to help maintain the loss!!! In a way you can have your pizza and eat it too! The first few months of torture are sooooo worth it
  14. Yay!!! Next stop 200's, very excited for you!

Seriously 40-45lbs! (to go from a 22 to 20. But after that I changed sizes very frequently..... I went straight from an 18 to a 14 then to a 12 a month later. :-)
  17. I drink 2-3 carbonated waters a day and made goal in less than 9 months. Didn't stretch my sleeve. My surgeon says that's bull and so do I.

  22. Sleevers in maintenance….. Any tips? This is the oddest place I have ever been. Not trying to lose weight (or knowing I need to try but am not trying) is a very odd place mentally. I am nervous about it. I have given myself the number of 170 pounds… If I go back above that EVER I need to alter what I am doing to get back to the 160’s again. Is that how maintenance works?? I need help from others in maintenance! Tips, stories, anything? Thanks!!!
