Does Eating Get Any Easier?
FishingNurse replied to Lisa's Hope's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yes, 100x easier. I eat 100% exactly how I used to (with protein as my main course) just about 1/3 as much with zero problems. I am 10 months and I have felt like this since 4 months out. the first 3 months are rough but sooo worth it to be at goal -

FishingNurse replied to Patrick Curl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was very worried about this too....pre-op I obsessed and worried about all the details-- but trust me your sleeve tells you what to do post-op and you just need to be patient and the weight falls off. -

Actually you might look in to a DS, that's most common after VSG if you have not lost enough weight. Thanks for posting! this is good to know!! -

I Am So Pathetic. :(((
FishingNurse replied to dsleon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep, I let a couple cheezits dissolve in my mouth in the mushy phase, not a proud moment but it is what it is. -
I have been drinking multiple carbonated beverages a day since 2.5 months out. (1 diet pop and 2 sparkling waters) I made goal, didn't stretch my stomach contrary to some people's beliefs on this forum!!!

The Old Fear Is Coming Back :(
FishingNurse replied to cacilluf's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you ever considered having your metabolism checked? I had mine checked at a Lifetime Fitness. The trainer told me not to eat less than 1500 cals a day ( I had it checked at 2.5 months) so that's where I have stayed and made goal in 8.5 months. Maintaining now with ease at 1800-2200 per day depending on my activity for the day. (I easily ate 3500+ cals a dayto maintain my 255lb pound physique pre-op) 2000 cals per day for an active (i jog and lift weights and work full time as a nurse) 28 year old like myself is reasonable and healthy to maintain my 169lbs-- I have maintained or even built more muscle. I do have lots of protein and veggies but also have carbs. If my weight creeps back up even a 1/4 pound I reign the cals in! I happy with this because unlike some sleevers I can eat very very normally with ease and I didn't lose all my muscle mass and tank my metabolism eating 600-800 cals a day. Cause when you eat 700 cals a day for 8 months and get down to 125lbs-- bad habits can creep in and then you eat 1200 cals on a "bad day" and gain weight cause you have no muscle and you tanked your metabolism!!! -

Need Comparison From The Pros
FishingNurse replied to CT Fats's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I can eat a 6 inch with veggies minus the top of the bread. Sounds normal and reasonable. -

The More I Lose, The More I Fear...
FishingNurse replied to Donito's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you thought about picking a weight loss goal that is more modest? that is exactly what I did. I am currently at goal, no longer obese, no lose skin, just think and curvy. I am not thin either-- that is not important to me. I do however like the way I look now (i wear a size 10-12 and medium or large tops, and a 36C. AND I am healthy..... I would not feel good about myself at a lower weight if it meant I had body issues realted to lose skin. Also a more modest weight goal is much easier to maintain in the long run. -
Gaining Weight Rapidly!
FishingNurse replied to wondering1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
wow, really? I ate 1200-1800 per day and made goal in 8.5 months. When I would eat less than 1200 I would not lose. Its quite easy to eat that much, trust me.... Pre-op however I would eat 3000 cals per day minimum -
