12 Day Clear Liquid Diet - Anyone Else On This?
FishingNurse replied to MyJourney2013's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you are on 12 days of clear liquids??? that seems odd..... there is no protien in clear liquids usually. Seems like a good way to make your body weak for surgery? Any one else have any thoughts? I would not been able to do clear liquids only for 12 days pre-op. Post op yes..... -
I started eating it about 2.5 months out. I can a few normal sized chunks. Careful early on if you eat it to fast its a good way to get "the slimes" eek
-
perfect sense! good luck with your procedure... BTW I am 1 year + out and super happy! Excited for you!

Why Lap-Band To Sleeve?
FishingNurse replied to Barisaxylady's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I personally think most banders got the band cause they didnt want the RNY. Then they found out the band is horrific but still don't want the RNY...... the sleeve is the answer!! I love mine! -
No Outside Food Allowed
FishingNurse replied to vampsy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tha'ts ridiculous! I would bring something with you and explain to the person hassling you about it that you are on a post-operative diet. If they still dont allow it, sneak it in next time! (I always do at the movies....) -
Can I Rant For A Minute?
FishingNurse replied to SkinnyMinnie2Be's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also needed something solid in my life for the preop diet. I hated the carnation instant breakfast I was supposed to drink! I ate a lot of cottage cheese-- I even told my NP at the surgeons office and basically got her blessing except when I had to do clear liquids only the day before. Lets not fool ourselves. Restrictive diets of any kind are SUPER HARD, if they were not everyone would be thin. -

Question: Why Is Caffeine Off Limits?
FishingNurse replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my doc says its ok in moderation like EVERYTHING else post op, including alcohol and such. I have a medium iced vanilla latte everyday, a diet coke everyday, and I have about 3 beers a week on average! Made goal in 8 months, easily maintain my weight, and I am happy and healthy, and not deprived. -
After Your Stomach Has Healed Can You Eat Fermented Foods (Like Kimchi, Sauer Kraut, Etc) And Spicy Food?
FishingNurse replied to nyxa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Former Obese Ppl Judging Obese Negatively? Wtf...
FishingNurse replied to JimmyGotSLEEVED's topic in Rants & Raves
I agree! I feel like a few certain people in my life that have lost a lot of weight (and a few on this site for that matter) have hopped on their high horses and make others feel bad. Even just for asking questions or making not so good food choices and confessing. It makes me feel mad/ hurt too, but all we can do is control our own actions and support others that are struggling. -

FishingNurse replied to Bethany's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How many days of liquid diet did you have to do? 2 weeks How much weight did you lose during it? 6 pounds :-( How many days (if any) did you have to stay at the hospital? 2 Did you have any complications?)none :-) How long after surgery did you try to eat normal food? (non-puréed, etc) 1 month How soon after surgery did you feel mostly or fully back to normal? 2 months Please share any extra comments about things you weren't expecting or tips: best decision I ever made!!! -
I am not concerned about getting to small witht he sleeve... I am more concerned with not keeping enough weight off... Unfortunately I think most of us should be more concerned about that! I have easily gained 3-5 pounds a few times and have had to be careful to lose those again!!!!

I ate 1200-1600 for weight loss, maintaining at 2000 :-)
