What Does Goal Look Like For You?
FishingNurse replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my goal initially was 170- I made it just under. my highest weight was 260-- I chose a higher goal weight cause I wanted to keep my curves and I wanted to not have a bunch of loose skin. I made my goal and I am a size 12. I have maintained this goal for at least 7 months now! It was right for me. I have decided to try for a size 10 with a new work out regimen. we'll see how it goes! Happy happy happy. -

Plateau And Weight Gain
FishingNurse replied to VitaleEM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
relax! This is not fat, its definitely a fluctuation in fluids. This happened to me several times on my journey it will come off in no time and you will be losing again soon, -
Oh yes. I eat completely normal/ fast. I'm 16 months post op. I don't feel like I had surgery and I haven't since 8 months out ( except I eat less of course)

Should I Be Able To Do This?
FishingNurse replied to spieldose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You should be careful you're putting yourself at risk for a leak. The amount isn't a worry your fresh staple line isn't ready for beef! -

How Much Can You Eat A Couple Years Out
FishingNurse replied to Bryan Whitson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 16 months post op. I can eat 1 normal slice of pizza and some salad for example or 6 inch from subway minus the top bread and a couple chips. Or a small burger no top bun, with pickles and about 5 fries. Sure with some soda- i dont do diet though. Yes I chug water, and feel like my portions are healthy. I maintain my weight easily and eat 2000 calories a day. :-) -

Serious Question Need Advice ..please
FishingNurse replied to steelergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will be ok! It's just a soft noodle, yes you are on liquids so your stomach can heal, but a soft noodle shouldn't give you a leak. Just stick to your plan, protect that staple line- and you will be ok! -

What Is Your Average Caloric Intake?
FishingNurse replied to Strangefruit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
did he say why? My surgeon says its absurd that it would stretch your sleeve-- obviously not a good idea until you're 100% healed -
What Is Your Average Caloric Intake?
FishingNurse replied to Strangefruit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have zero restrictions since 3 months out. I eat anything I want- including carbonation. I have 3-5 beers per week. I drink sparkling Water everyday, multiple bottles. My sleeve isn't larger necessarily-- its just right in my book, I am 15 months out so Its a whole different ball game for me. I could hardly eat 2 tablespoons of anything a month out. I still feel a lot of restriction, I can only eat for example 1 slice of pizza. pre-sleeve it was 6, easy. I am very happy I can eat reasonable amounts of food!! You will see it keeps getting better!!! -

What Is Your Average Caloric Intake?
FishingNurse replied to Strangefruit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For my weight loss I was higher than your average sleever.... 1200-1500 a day. 15 months out now, maintaining goal for 7 months at 2000 cals. I don't count carbs, I don't eat low fat, or sugar free. -
I go through phases where I feel like that.....when I feel like I can keep eating/ snacking... i kind of do but I chose veggies, lots of veggies!! raw, cooked, roasted, steamed, stir fried, you name it. I will also eat apples, air popped pop corn, etc. Try snacking on those if you want to snack. Thats been my key to maintaining my weight loss. (or losing weight)

totally agree it is not fat gain, it's a fluctuation in fluids. Don't worry!!!

Should Wls Be Performed At An Early Age?
FishingNurse replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am on the younger side- sleeved at 27... Although I considered bypass multiple times from 21 on. I wish the sleeve was an option back then! I think definitely it should be ok if you are 18 or older. I was a chubby kid since the day I was born... It only gets worse. But I have maintained for more than 7 months now and plan to continue to maintain!!
