How Long After Surgery Can Someone Eat Hotdogs
FishingNurse replied to drelex210's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat hot dogs from time to time. I buy the all beef kind. I'm not going to pretend that I'm better than others cause I don't eat hot dogs! Jeesh. I waited until 3 months out. I usually skip the bun or part if it. -

At 800 Cals Are You Losing Weight
FishingNurse replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never counted carbs, only Protein and cals. I don't sugar free or fat free. Its toxic to me now. and I had no troubles making goal in 8.5 months..... Losing phase I ate: Breakfast: 6:30am Medium iced vanilla latte for caribou coffee (2% milk, not sugar free vanilla) 200 cals, 9g protein. 1 turkey bacon mini ciabatta. 190 cals and 8 grams of protein. (i would nibble/ sip on this for an hour) 9:30am snack: 1 baby bel cheese, 80 cals, 5g protein 3/4 slice of higher protein toast with peanutbutter . 230 cals, 9 grams of protein. lunch: 12:30pm tuna salad. 2.2 oz of tuna with normal mayo, 18 grams of protein and 175 calories. snack: 1 serving of almonds 1oz: 160 cals and 6 protein. dinner: 2oz beef roast, and a few carrots, and small portion of potato, 310 cals, 12 g protein dessert: 100% fruit bar 100 cals totals: 1445 cals and 67 grams of protein. -

Wondering About Body Parts Sagging.
FishingNurse replied to Ladylaurarose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved at 28. I chose a higher goal weight (170)- bmi currently 28 i think. so I have zero saggy skin, a round butt and perky breasts still. Plus my weight is easy to maintain -
What Makes Wls Different From Other Diets?
FishingNurse replied to carrieann70's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it is different !! I am proof. The beginning is rough, no doubt. There is built in self control. I do eat "normal" I eat 1600-2000 cals a day and I have maintained for 8 months now. I don't stick to 'the plan" per se... but I do make sure I get enough protein and don't go wild. Its easier post op- you feel satisfied so easily. Instead of eating 6 slices of pizza I have 1, maybe 1 and 1/2 if I want. (bam- saves me hundreds if not thousands of calories) Also I should add there has never been at time that I have made a "goal weight" ever (before my sleeve, that is) So there is a lot of motivation to NOT fail, to NOT gain weight back) I don't want to be that girl that gains the weight back- it would be horrifying. that is a huge motivator. -
Slimies- What Does It Feel Like?
FishingNurse replied to Lollyx3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
WARNING this is graphic!! it feels like there is something caught in your throat for up to an hour. It happened to me about half a dozen times. It has not happened for a year luckily. It happened to me when I had beef jerky, beef roast and chicken-- didn't chew well enough. Your body produces this mucous- clear and dense. Its your body's effort to lubricate the food down (or up)- but your tiny tummy can't take it and you'll up chuck a few giant mucous balls. lol ( reminds me of a small jelly fish) -
Talk Me Down Off The Ledge
FishingNurse replied to cmaloney's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh my, you are ok! It will come right off, don't stress it, it's just a fluctuation/ rearrangement of fluids. It won't be the first time this happens! -
Shout Out To All The Veterans...*carbs Or Calories*
FishingNurse replied to Kristi64's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
16 months out here- yes, and no! I can eat for example-- small hamburger (think mcdonalds size) with only bottom bun- i could never finish it and I'm stuffed but I can eat a big bowl of cereal ( like 1 cup or more of captain crunch) or more cheez-its (my weakness) than I'd like to admit. Those are my sliders. And I can eat significntly more if I drink with meals- so I avoid this :-) no troubles maintaining so far! -

Why No Babies? :(
FishingNurse replied to SweetSaso's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will probably be just fine to carry the baby. The reason they want you to wait is so you can lose most your weight before considering pregnancy. It is much harder to lose weight after pregnancy. It will be harder to nourish the baby in the first year too but you will not need to get an abortion, It is very common for sleeveers to get pregnant suddenly shortly after surgery! Try to get to your goal weight THEN get pregnant and get the most out of your sleeve! -
