    Babybel cheese

Oh yes! I lived off of babybels for the first 2 months!!
  2. you are so positive and kind!!!!! love your posts
  3. Yes! I had my metabolism checked (its was called BMR, or CaloriePoint at lifetime fitness) as well and my trainer says NEVER go below 1800! It works!
  4. I made it my goal to not ruin my metabolism-- at the advisement of an awesome personal trainer. I eat about 2000 cals a day in maintenance now. I have for an entire year. If I creep up, I cut back a bit. I got my cals up to 1200 as soon as I could post-op in an attempt to not tank my metabolism. I lost most of my weight at the 1500 calorie point. I still made goal at 8.5 months post op! I think I am able to eat a hefty 2K per day now cause I work out and stay active and cause I didn't stay below 1200 cals a day for long. My friend that had gastric bypass ate 600 cals a day for almost year so now when she started eating a measly 1000-1200 a day now she has regained 50 pounds. Thats why I love my sleeve. I can maintain my weight now at a reasonable calorie count!!!!
  5. I would assume that this is water weight! If you had your period this week It is certainly possible. There is not a chance you gained fat weight at 6 weeks post op, let alone 7 pounds. Don't fret, drink extra fluids for a few days and re-weigh. I think you will be back to where you were. You have been using the same scale? weighing the a.m. in the same clothes?? Is the battery up to par too??

    shocked

Regaining is a big fear of mine- and I am assuming everyone else's here. That's why I stay on this board, keep my lifetime membership (and make time to work out), take the stairs, eat Protein first, and the minute that scale says 170 I cut back- and get back into the 160's again. (that's my sweet spot) I know first hand 5 lab band failures- almost all weigh as much as they did, if not more, and 3 gastric bypass failures-- gaining and can't stop, including a 550 pound patient that goes to my support group as well. I feel like we got lucky with the sleeve-- and thank goodness my surgeon talked me out of the band, and signed me up for the sleeve! Maintaining for more than a year now!
  7. The thought of losing my precious long blonde hair was almost enough for me to cancel my surgery..... this was my thing- my security blanket. I was the fat girl with the cute face and the lovely blonde hair!! I started losing hair around 4 months and it slowed at 8 months... I was a wreck about it and recall sobbing twice. I kept up on my Protein and liquids, Biotin, and used nioxin shampoo and conditioner. But I survived! I still have long pretty blonde hair! I lost some but nobody could tell besides me. It does grow back- and the chances of anyone noticing are slim. So now I am the healthy, average sized person with the cute face and the pretty blonde hair! I get noticed for me not my hair now! Yay. Btw 20 months post-op. My whole point: don't fret about this-- it doesn't help., its going to happen almost no matter what! You will be fine!
  8. at 2 weeks: -cream of wheat made with milk- kinda of thin. There is Protein in it! -pushed up cottage cheese - soft cheese like babybel- let is sit at room temp for about 10 mins. first they melt in your mouth. -greek yogurt. -if you can tolerate them refried Beans. with a little sour cream. Thats what I lived off of from 2 weeks to 1 month

    mayonnaise

I am probably going to rile up a bunch of people! I don't use low fat or sugar free anything... never have since day one post-op. I ate ALL sugar free and fat free everything since I was 7 years old and guess what? I ended up 260 pounds. So, I eat the real deal in small portions, I am so much more satisfied and healthy. I have maintained my goal weight for a year and counting. When you are eating such small amounts of things I truly believe real fat is much better than processed, fat removed, sugar added crap. My cholesterol is normal, all my labs are great. Just my opinion!!

    Binge Eating Food Funeral

I did the same thing- I gained 8 pounds in 3 months before surgery. But take it from me! You will be able to eat your favorite foods again in time. I am 20 months post op. I eat what I want in moderation. there is nothing I can't eat, or drink now. I would love to go back and not gain those 8 pounds, I would probably 8 pounds less now!!

    8 week post op

I'm a little suprized. But i wouldn't worry too much! Your calories are right on. Your body can't maintain at that count for long. I wish I had more input for you! If possible try to get more liquid in between meals. Keep us posted! Does a anyone else have any ideas?

    Gastric sleeve stretched

Ugh that's what happens when I respond on my 2000 dollar MacBook Pro! I had to go erase it on my iPhone. Anyone else with a MacBook have that problem?

    Gastric sleeve stretched

I would say I eat the same as I did at about 14 months as I do now at 20 months. But the difference from 6 months to 14 months was pretty significant. I am very happy with my restriction, except for with cheezits. lol
  22. I think you're more popular than me Kathy!!
  23. FishingNurse

    Am i the only one?

No, this is common. Have you compared pictures? It helps. and time helps too. I sometimes still see the 260 pound girl. It does get better.
  24. FishingNurse

    Gum?

I do. I'm 20 months post-op. if you do be careful not to swallow for the first few months!

For sure. Losing the weight was easy. Honestly! Maintaining is the trickier part. But nobody wants be a failure. I'm finally normal, and I don't want to go back. It's huge insentive to pick the right foods. :-)
