    Will i ever?

yes... I was swollen for almost 3-4 months. I am 20 months post op and eat quite normal portions. But I was just like you in the beginning! Normal this is what I ate yesterday: 1 large slice of whole grain toast and a half a banana and peanut butter for breakfast. 1 cheese stick and 8 carrot sticks with dip for a snack. 3 oz of tuna salad and 8 crackers for lunch, a 8oz yogurt for a snack. a 6 inch sub from subway with half the bread removed for dinner, and a few chips. and for a late snack I had a 100 cal bag of popcorn. yes the entire bag! Don't worry! It gets better!

    Drinking alcohol

    I waited 4-5 months. I drink about 3-4 beers a week total. I am 20 months out.
  15. The first few days are brutal-- heck the entire first month is...... But all 100% worth it. I'd do it again in an instant. I'm 20 months post op and have maintained my goal weight for more than a year now!
  16. I would highly recommend making an appointment with a psychologist as soon as possible.
  17. That family obviously has issues. Don't let it bother you. It took almost 50 pounds until people noticed my weight loss. It was hard! But you're doing great and everyone will notice soon! Ignore that family- how rude!
  18. Personally I would wait! I bought a lot of stuff before surgery that I couldn't stand post op. a lot of people's tastes change.... Actually most. Get the essentials but see how you feel post-op! I wasted 100s of dollars.
  19. I agree I weigh 5 days a week (I'm a nurse so I weigh at work) I don't have a scale at home. It keeps me on track. If the scale creeps up, I cut back. I avoided the scale for months when I was in the 250's- it's easy to be in denial !
  20. good plan, you can do it!
  21. basically losing and maintaining the above is about 1500 cals, and that's pretty much what I ate when I was losing! I add more veggies now, and slightly more protein.
  22. I didn't "cut off 2/3s" of my stomach so I could eat less. I had a surgical procedure to help me lose weight and be healthy. Which I have done. I'm 20 months post op and am healthy and happy, maintaining my goal weight for an entire year.
  23. Sure! Breakfast : 6:30 sipping / eating for 1 hour. medium ice vanilla latte from caribou coffee- not sugar free, with 2% milk and 1 turkey bacon mini sandwhich from caribou. Total: 400 cals, 20 grams of Protein Snack 9:45am : babybels cheese 60 cals, 6 protein. Lunch: 1 large egg made in to egg salad with regular mayo, 1 serving of cheezits. Total: 320 cals, 10 protein. Snack: Stoney field farm yogurt- organic banana flavor - 1 cup 200 cals, 9 protein. Dinner: steak burrito bowl from chipotle- about 2oz of steak, cheese, sour cream, 2 tablespoons of Beans, 2 tablespoons of rice and hot salsa. I figure about 350 cals and 15 protein. Dessert/ late night snack, edys whole fruit Popsicle. 100 cals. Very typical day- I get burrito bowls and eat them for days! And at 2000 cals I eat similar, like 2 eggs at lunch and a little more meat for dinner- and ususlly some veggies at dinner and sometimes for my afternoon snack.
  24. my heaviest weight was 262- (I'm 5'4") I was sleeved at 250, made goal 169 8.5 months later. Total of 90+ pounds in 10 months. (very modest goal weight-- yes but I'm a size 12 and medium tops usually and I WAS a 24 and 2x tops easy. ) I will be 2 years post op a week after I turn 30 (July 25th) and my goal is to make it to the 150's (159!) by then with my new workout routine. Another positive about my modest goals is I have no loose skin.
