Hi everyone just a quick note. .i'm slipping out the door to go pick up my youngest can't wait to see her..but for those of you that are going this week i wanted to get this up as i have a video and pictures from my experience in Mexico with dr. Ponce de leon and Trish.. which of both i highly recommend.. Good luck to those going this week..

On another note. gals.. two must have items.. well it will make your life easier anyways.. bring chapstick and silky pajamas.. that way you can move in bed much easier!!! Good luck to everyone who is getting ready to go.. i'm leaving today.. love the lucerna but i can't wait to be in my own home and my own neighborhood... :-)

yes the hospital gowns are like the ones in the states but you would think they would have big ones..they kept putting me in Large.. and it just wasnt enough room that's why i put on my undies and my capris . if you bring pajamas.. make sure they are silky ones so you can move around easier in bed. .. we just got back from the beach with Trish she sure is a great person.. makes sure you get to do what you want and get out.. it was alot of fun dipped my toes in the ocean.. that was cold lol. I feel much better tonight than i did this morning..it's because i've been up and walking all around it was nice!! Hope you do well janneth and Krista.. i really liked the nurses sonia and patty they were extra good.. you will want sonia to pull out your drain she was so nice about it!! Tomorrow trish is bringing a girl to do a pedicure and then we leave at 1 to go catch our flight.. i'm so glad i had the extra day my swelling is going down.. been getting all the Water in good today.

no i have had my gall bladder out and had carpal tunnel surgery on both wrists. I thought this recovery would be alot like my gall bladder surgery since it was done laproscopically..i was back to work in a couple days with that surgery and minimal pain... this seems to be more painful than that.. on a scale of 1-10 ... 1 being the lowest today i feel like a 5 first day i definetly felt like a 2... I just took some medicine that is suppose to help with the gas.. well see if that's what it is.. I havn't had any acid reflux pain thank the lord it's mostly all in the belly.. waiting for my hubby to wake up now so we can get out and have a walk outside.. can you beleive it's chilly in mexico i'm sitting in my hotel room wrapped in a blanket.. went out on my balcony and it still felt cold out there.. make sure you bring a sweater or jacket just in case.. i didn't bring any pants.. just streachy capris.. now i wish i would've brought my stretchy yoga pants...

i was sleeved on thursday and the first day was bad.. yes they do give you the pain medicine and naseua but the gas pain just hurts...and the only way to get rid of it is get up and walk...you will not feel like it though i had to force myself to get out of bed and get walking...so i did the whole day on friday and felt better.. but really felt better by saturday... here it is sunday and i'm feeling okay..it's hard to get things down with these tiny sips i have to take. but i've been taking sips of water every 2-3 minutes. My incisions still hurt when i cough.. i'm going to make it my mission to walk as much as i can today.. not too sure about sleeping on my back last night i woke up every 3hours and walked around my hotel room for thirty minutes each time.. i may have to sleep in my recliner when i get home i think.. we shall see... it will all be worth it.. in time each day get's better and better. i will say that!! Thanks everyone today i plan on walking alot.. my arm is still swollen from the iv.. and you do have to be very careful with your drinking for the first time.. i know people and read about how small a sip but wow you can totally feel when it's too much very small sips!! i suggest you wait to watch your video of your surgery until a good month afterwords when you are all healed up... i watched mine yesterday 2 days post op.. and it totally grossed me out and now i feel like i really have to baby my stomach you don't realize what a major surgery it was until you've seen that. Wish i were going home today but i have one more day at the lucerna then home tomorrow. DD thanks for the tip about printing out boarding tickets i saw those computers but didn't even think of doing that... :-) Holly

Thanks.. i had changed doctor's since then.. going to Dr. Ponce.. leaving today.. so excited!! Fasting starts in 30 minutes..

I just got to thinking.. and my surgery is at 8:30pm.. what did you do right after surgery.. am i going to be up all night?? To be able to walk it off.. or did you sleep? Just wondering that way i will try to sleep in a little the day we fly out.. don't know if that will happen with all the excitement.. Also if you brought a small heating pad for your belly.. what kind did you get and where? Was it an electric one? That's the only thing i'm trying to figure out if i need to buy

Hey Niki hope all goes well for you too sleeve sister!! Your babies will be happy when you're home that's quite the houseful.. Mine will too but they are not animals.. well sometimes they act like it..lol I have 4 kido's and 2 step kido's all are excited but anxious for mom to be home again!! My surgery is tomorrow and i'm getting so anxious for that day to come i have so much to do today.. Really wish my headache would go away.. i'm detoxing so much and i feel it!!

IT is tomorrow.. yay i'm so excited.. i'm pretty much useless at work today because i'm thinking non stop about tomorrow making sure i have everything done and taken care of...I keep reminding myself to go to the bank and get my cashier's check... I'm packing my bags tonight. Thanks for putting my mind at ease about doing it the same day...I think i probably wouldn't have gotten much sleep either if i had waited till the next morning. I have such a headache this morning.. i feel like i'm detoxing from food in general.. can't wait for that to go away!!

I think he must do surgery later in the day my surgery isnt scheduled until 830 pm... that's got me thinking about being up all night or not.'.. hopefully I get to sleep and walk it out in the morning

I am leaving on thursday and I have yet to pack my suitcase... washing clothes tonight picking up a cashiers check tomorrow and thursday our plane leaves at 225... surgery will be at 830 pm... now to decide what to bring lol

Thanks DD I was really on the fence about that one.. I could've had an early the next day surgery..but i figured if i get it done the same day then i will have more time to recover there.. before my flight home. I did ask how many surgery's he has that day because i had the same concern that i didn't want to be last.. but he is only doing 3 sleev's and a gall bladder before me.. so that made me feel better. I'm still on the fence but i think it's too late to change to the morning surgery.. i did just email Trish and asked her to really make sure that would be okay.. so we shall see. Thanks for your concern and input.. i appreciate it!! That's great to know.. i guess every surgery is different .. i figured i probably would still be groggy..
