  1. *waves hi* I'm 3 months out and I'm feeling great. How's everybody doing?

  2. *waves hello* So I'm almost 3 months out and I feel like I can eat a tad bit more. Is that normal?

  3. I had cookies last night and I feel extra guilty. I will say they didn't bring me much satisfaction.

  4. Hey there! I see you're all lined up for surgery. Are you excited?

  5. Hey there! I'm doing well. How's the working out going?

  6. Has anyone practiced Bikram post surgery? If so, how soon after? I started practicing Bikram in October and I've come to enjoy and crave it, for mental and physical reasons. I would like to make it part of my post surgery workout routine. My concern is it's very important to stay hydrated before, during, and after class. Doing 26 postures in a room for 90 minutes at 105 degrees with 50 % humidity can take a lot out of you. Water is essential. I'm worried that it will be awhile before I'm able to consume as much water as I currently do to prepare for class.
  7. I'm back to doing Bikram Yoga. Yay!

    Bikram Yoga after surgery

@Getinmybelly The meds/supplements haven't made any difference in my practice, well not that I know of. My first class back was pretty rough, I was nauseous, dizzy and tired, but that's b/c I didn't prepare well. I know now that I need to eat something before class, drink twice as much water, and sit out when I need to. With Bikram the more you go the better you feel. My first class (a year ago today) was pretty rough, but I came right back. Bikram has put me in touch with my body, increased my flexibility, and helped me release stress. I can't believe it's become a normal part of my exercise routine and how quickly I was hooked on it after my first class. I'd say give it another shot, drink plenty of water, and get in your protein prior to class.

    Bikram Yoga after surgery

Hi all FYI. I'm back to doing Bikram after surgery. My first class back was pretty rough, but I'm sure it was b/c I went on an empty stomach. Now I make sure to have a piece of cheese, fruit, or almonds before class. It's just enough to get me through the class. I was concerned about being able to drink Water during class, but so far so good. Any other yogis out there?
  10. Looking for something crunch w/o the calories? Try Kale chips. Yum!

  11. Hi there. I was sleeved August 31st and so far I've lost 29lbs. Right now I'm experiencing my first stall, but the great thing is thanks to this forum I'm prepared. I started excersing again on Sunday and my body feels pretty good. My goal is to workout 5 days a week, cardio, weights, and Bikram Yoga. As far as food goes, I'm probably not doing the best. I'm finding it hard to get in the required protein while on the mushy diet. My menu currently consists of greek yogurt, cheese, soup, mashed potatoes, broccoli, peaches, oatmeal, grits, beans and boost protein shakes. I've been a tad frustrated with the mushies because they seem to go right through and the hungry comes raging back. I go back to the doc on Monday and I should be able to advance my diet, and I'm hoping I'll do a better job at meeting my protein goal.
  12. Anybody tired of mushies? *raises my hand* Anybody still hungry on mushies? *raises my hand*

    September 10th check in/weigh in

I'm checking in late as well. So far I'm 24.5 lbs since surgery August 31.
  14. I guess it's normal to be hungry during the two week post op liquid diet?

  15. How are you doing?

  16. How are you?

  17. I'm doing pretty good. The only thing that is killing me right now it the fatigue. I'm so tired all the time.

  18. Cabin fever is starting to set in.

  19. Oh yes, I remember the early stages of locing. It took my hair close to two years to loc, so I understand where you're coming from. Good luck! I'm sure things will be fine.

  20. Sounds like a great idea! I'd like to stay in touch. It's nice to see updates from folks who had surgery around the same time.
  21. Hi there! Congrats on your pending surgery! I'm 5 years into my loc journey and I haven't give much thought to the possibility of losing my hair. I purchased a bottle of Biotin which I plan to start taking once I move to the solid food stage. I'll adjust accordingly if my hair starts to fall out.

  22. Yes, I eat dairy and eggs, although prior to surgery I didn't do much dairy so I'm struggling with the amount of milk I have to consume. I go to the doctor tomorrow so I will talk with them more about it.

    my story... my emotions

Hi there. I'm 26 and I was also sleeved on the 31st. Yesterday I doubted my decision a little, but I had to tell myself what's done is done. The only pain I'm having right now is from the drain; it's about time for this thing to come out. Right now I'm trying to determine if what I'm feeling in my stomach are hunger pains or my stomach settling. I read under another post that hunger pains could be acid & Prilosec can help with that. So starting today I will take the Prilosec my doc prescribed. I'm looking at this change as a day by process with hills & valleys. I've made up my mind that I will succeed and change my attitude about food. It won't be easy, but I plan to tap into my supports systems. So think of the liquid phase as just that, another phase. You won't be tied down to liquids forever. It will pass! Good Luck! Luck! I've found great inspiration on this board.
  24. Hi all- I'm the last of the August Sleevers and I made it home Friday. I stayed an extra night in the hospital b/c I was running a fever. I will say these last few days have been a bit of a challenge. The gas was really getting to me while I was in the hospital. I walked constantly hoping to get rid of it before I went home, but that didn't happen. Yesterday I finally got some relief from the gas, but then my cycle appeared 8 days early. Since I can remember I've had horrible cramps, so on top of having a testy stomach from the surgery I was also dealing with menstrual cramps. Ick. I feel much better today and I can't wait for Tuesday so I can get this drain out! It's starting to hurt and I still can't bend down. I'm getting my liquids in ok, but I'm having a hard time digesting all the milk the doc wants. My surgeon requires that we add non fat dry milk to our Soups and yogurt. When I'm on my cycle I stay away from dairy products b/c it causes my stomach to rumble. I'm walking, sleeping, and resting. Ready for the next chapter. I've weighed myself and it shows a big loss but I know that won't be typical.
