    Your most exciting NSV

My hubby can't keep his hands off of me!!! He tells me everyday that I look great.
  2. Yes I know exactly what u mean! Oh and another thing is I hate to waste anything, especially food. If u go through a drive thru and even get a kids meal, ur still gonna waste half of it! So I waste a lot of food and money.

    salads

Well tonight I got brave a made me a small salad. It was just a caesar salad because I didn't want to try a bunch a raw veggies all at one time. So it was romaine lettuce, parm cheese and dressing. I think I'm handling it pretty well because I ate it like 2 hrs ago and feel fine. Thanks for everyones replies.

    salads

I really have been wanting a salad but my doc says lettuce can be kinda rough going down. Have any of u tried salads since being sleeved and if so how did u handle it? Also, what are some things you include in your salads that you seem to handle ok.
  5. Longer-life, I've lost 70 lbs in 2 months because the very thought of eating completely turns me off so therefore I eat very little. If I could live off of gatorade or water I would have it made but, of course that's not possible. I can get down string cheese, potato soup, and sometimes turkey from the local bbq place. Oh and shrimp most of the time isn't a problem. Let me just say that I know 8 people that have had the sleeve surgery and none of them seem to have this problem. No matter who you talk to or how much research you do, everyone is different and you may have a great experience.
  6. DrMommy I am right there with you. My surgery was july 20 so I'm a little over 2 months out. I have absolutely no hunger whatsoever and it sucks. I have to force myself to eat and since everything tastes weird it makes it that much harder. I hate the protein drinks and bars so those are out 4 me. Stuff that I loved before surgery I can't stand now, even beef jerky is a good source of protein and I won't touch it. This last Friday I spent 8 hrs in the ER getting fluids, potassium, and antibiotics for a bladder infection I didn't know I had. I just got to where I felt soooo sluggish and my husband and mom did I guess u could say an intervention! I definately suggest doin that if your not getting any nutrition. At least go to your primary doc and have him draw labs on you. I have lost 70 lbs in 2 months and that scares the crap out of me. Yes I did this too lose weight but not to lose my life. I had no idea it would be this hard or this surgery would have been out of the question, but we are stuck with it now, there's no going back.
  7. I'm 2.5 months out and still feel like crap. The weight is melting off but it comes with a price! If u ask me, I would take that 68 lbs and my tummy back any day! Good luck to you.
  8. I am 2 months out and I can not eat hardly anything! I have not yet experienced hunger so I have to make myself try to eat something. When I think about eating I just want to gag and even my liquids are sometime to much for my tummy to handle. I can get in just enough water and gatorade to keep from getting dehydrated. Some days I can manage to get in 2 tbls of food all day so basically I feel like I'm gonna waste away. I've lost 60 lbs so far, which is way too fast I think, and I'm not even hungry. I feel pretty much like crap all the time and I know its because of the lack of nutrition. I can't even do the protein drinks. If anybody is having or has had anything similar to this I would like to hear about how you are handling it. Thanks.
  9. I am also 2 months out and I have those days. Not as many as I did at first, its gotten better the more days go by. I still can't drink ice cold water very fast.

    Would you sleeve again?

I'm with u MememEEE, definately on the fence about this whole thing. I'm 2 months out and I really can't say for sure that I would do this again. I have lost 58 lbs so far because I cannot eat. I have no appetite and when I do try to make myself eat it makes me sick. I'm really scared of what's to come with my health because of the lack of nutrition. You just never know what you are gonna get, we are all different.
  11. Oh my, the mucus is horrid! I walk around hocking up mucus and its driving my family crazy!!! Will this ever stop??

    Hairballs or Hairy Throat???

Ok I feel phelm at the bk of my throat constantly but not anything that feels like hair. I hock up stuff all day, its really disgusting. It grosses out my hubby lol. I was sleeved on july 20th and I remember reading people having the "slimies". I think that's what it is but not sure, just wish it would pass.
  13. Lol! I don't think so...actually my poor husband was so patient with me so like this last week I finally gave in. So we hadn't done anything until then. I have had nausea way b4 then. My post op appointment is sept 12 and I'm trying to hold out till then to go to the doc bc he is 2 and a half hrs away.
  14. Well I'm not of any help to u but I also have nausea. My deal is that I'm 6wks out and have had extreme nausea since day 1. I can't eat hardly anything and if I eat something like potato soup I can eat only like 2 tbls of it. I've lost 52 lbs in 6 wks. It is bc I'm starving myself to death but at the same time I've not experienced hunger at all. This experience has been horrible for me, needless to say.

    Day2 PreOp Not going well

I pretty much stuck to the plan though it was very hard in the begining. The first 3 days were hell but after that my body just kinda got used to it. Just remember that the purpose of this pre op diet is to shrink ur liver. I think ur liver just lays on top of what the doc needs to get to and this helps keep u safe from injury and complications. Although I had friends that had their surgery in mexico and they could eat whatever up until the night before. I think I would rather be safe than sorry.
