7 weeks out and 27 lbs lost here. Try to stop weighing in. Hide that scale for a couple of weeks and focus on all the other things. best of luck to you and all of us.

That's great to know! I get sick of reheating 2 or 3 times. Also, I can't sit with my family. I feel pressured to eat fast so I eat later.
-
Eat meals without taking 30-45 mins? Are we always gonna have to wait 2 minutes between each bite?
-
Thinking and praying for you! I hope a speedy recovery.

Love this! Thanks. I really needed it.

I find a lot of great in home strength training on shape.com
You can break up your workouts in 2. You will see results. I do 20 mins in the am and 20 mins in pm.
Check out Pinterest for 20 min workouts. I break out into a good sweat. .
Best of luck.

When can I safely rest assure that I'm not going to have and major or serious complications from this surgery? I'm 11 days out and always think about leaks and scary things like that.
Is it weeks months years?

Thanks for the quick response how ya feeling today???
I feel amazing! %95 back to normal. Do all daily duties. It's night and day from 7 days ago!
-
I went in on a Friday. Surgery was 50minutes long. Was in recovery for about 1 1/2 hours. Was sent to my room afterwards and left Sunday afternoon. No complications. My dr wants all his patients to be in for 2 nights.
Best of luck to you.

When you say "sip"' date=' do you mean like lips to the edge of the glass and slurping up a little liquid or just small amounts that you "drinK" into your mouth? I know it sounds like a dumb question, but clearly there IS a difference between a sip and a gulp?[/quote']Just sips no gulps yet. It's not a dumb questions. I totally get it.

Thanks for all of your feedback. I'm trying to walk walk walk but man my shoulder is killing me!
-
For me' date=' it lasted about 7 days. Then it got easier, but I still have to be careful about how big a sip I take at once - even at 8 weeks post-op.[/quote']Good to know. I try not to drink more than an oz. every 10-15 mins.
Thanks.

I'm 3 days post op. anytime I drink, no more than an oz at a time, I get that tightness feeling. How long does that last?
-
Congrats! So refreshing to hear such a nice story. I'm 3 days out and hoping for relief. Way to go!
-
We have the same story! I was sleeved Friday and had bad nausea. Luckily no vomiting. I have my post op appointment on Thursday also! So far I'm trying to get my liquids down. So scared of dehydration. Hope our days get easier. good luck!
-
How many do you take at once? In 2 days post op and needing some. I have 2 with me but should I just do 1 for now?
-
Tomorrow is my surgery. Next week I have an appointment with my pcp and I will ask to get it. Thanks for easing my mind.

Yes' date=' especially for we heavier ladies hormonal birth control is risky, especially the NuvaRing. At the pharmacy I used to work at before nursing school we had all but stopped selling the NuvaRing because doctors are not writing for it any more, for some reason it carries the highest risk of embolism.
I am a firm believer that doctors need to do more to educate on the risks. But thats just me, the heavier you are in addition to taking the hormonal birth control the higher the risk.
Look into the ParaGuard copper IUD. It's one of THE MOST effective methods of birth control with no hormonal interference. There are so many women who have all kinds of hormonal issues and have been taking BC for years so they don't even know how they really feel without those hormones getting pumped in daily.[/quote']
Thanks! This is helping me lean more towards this. DH has issues with condoms so that's out of the question. Plus, who wants to wear a condom?!
-
I've been on paragard and I love it! It can last for up to ten years' date=' it's inserted once so you don't have to change it out! I chose it cause i can not remember to Take a pill everyday! It's non hormonal so there are no side affects! It works great for me, I hope you find what best fits you![/quote']This is the one I would love to have. Back 30 years ago my mom had and said she bled for months. That's why I'm scared. Did you bleed and have a lot of cramps at first?

Thank goodness for this thread! I just stopped my pill 2 days before surgery. My Dr. Didn't really say yes or no as to taking it. He asked if I could dissolve it in my mouth. I said I don't know I never tried. So I just decided to stop it and get something new. Anybody use an IUD?I'm so scared of accidents.
I meant to say copper IUD. I would love something that has no hormones!

I just got the UP band by jawbone. I love it. It does it all and it's a nice stylish band. One friend thought it was a nice leather Bracelet. It soon will link up with my fitness pal. I like how it buzzes every 15 minutes I'm idle. Research them all and see what fits your life style.
Good luck
What's up with red meat?

My dr says I need to wait 4 months for red meat. Does anyone know why? For those of you who do eat it, is it hard to swallow? How does it feel?
