  1. girl scout cookies! alot of them.
  2. Wow! Thanks everyone for sharing your stories! I love to hear how everyones journeys are going! There are so many ups and downs in this proccess! I just got my lab results back and I have too much vitamin b12 and folate levels in my system and my bad cholesterol is too high and my PCP wants to put me on cholesterol meds! So I went off blood pressure meds and on cholesterol meds! Of course thats contributed to my low carb diet! I will take the meds because i am scared to stop low carb and go back to old habbits, if that makes sense. The low carb diet is keeping me on track even if the weight loss is slow...very slow!!! LOL! Good luck everyone!
  3. I am 6 months out and I have lost a good amount of weight, but, not as much as I was hoping for. I am 6 months out and I am down 61 lbs since surgery. (18 of the pounds was immediate after surgery) Which I no way could have done on my own, but, I just feel like my weight loss is slowed drastically and I really have to work at losing now, going to the gym 4/5 days a week and eating healthy. The honeymoon is over and im scared that if I dont exercise or eat low carb that I will gain and/or just not lose anymore weight. Its exhausting how much effort I have to put into losing weight. I dont want people to think, boy, she had weight loss surgery and she is still fat! Plus I can eat normal size portions. Not big ones, but, I can eat a small meal with my family! I stay away from potatoes, rice, pasta and most bread products, on occasion I will have wheat bread or crackers. Anyway, how are you doing this far out and further? Does the weight still come off after the window of opportunity is passed? I need some hope and encouragement!
  4. I was sleeved August 17th, 2011! It absolutely gets better! The 1st few weeks are rough, but, I am 6 months out and I eat EVERYTHING! No restrictions. No issues. My food intake is less, but, I can still eat a meal. I just had 4 chicken wings and a half piece of my husbands chicken parm. For breakfast, I have no problem eating a 3 egg cheese omlette, I eat 3 quarters of it. Some times I think I eat too much! Be careful of the sliders, like crackers because they go down real easy! Today was a bad eating day. I usually eat much healthier, but, I am going through a lot of stress and one of my triggers for over eating is stress. But, the discomfort will be a thing of the past in 2-3 weeks. Once solids are introduced you will be in a much happier place! Then your gonna get mad at all the stalls! LOL! But, it is totally worth it! Good luck!
  5. Hey broadwaybaby! We really do have the same situation! LOL! I have PCOS too! I went to a support meeting with my friend who is having the surgery and it helped! I still use this site as my main support group, but, it was nice to be around others who had the surgery. well, i was the only sleeve! But, it was nice to hear about gastric bypass issues too! It made me feel less alone in my struggles and made me feel refocused i guess. Like going back to square one. Thats funny you mentioned going back to protein shakes, I did too! I didnt have my coffee this morning, I had a shake!!! LOL! Good luck!!!
  6. Lil miss diva! You look amazing!!!! I will definately take your advise! Thanks for the link! I will have to up my game. I was on my fitness pal, but, I have been on and off it lately, your right, I need to start tracking. switching it up a bit! Thanks for your advise!
  7. thanks, i needed to hear that. Your right! I am feeling good about what I have lost so far, but, im not done. I know they say its a tool, the sleeve, but, i guess i didnt realize how much work it is to get where i want to be. I have learned alot and definately working at it, but, its alot of work. and when I dont see any movment I get upset to be honest because I didnt lose as fast as I would have hoped or started exercise sooner. I am dedicated! I just cant help but feel like a failure when I dont lose or feeling like my body is telling me that I will never be thin!
  8. hi guys! i have been a slow loser thoughout this whole journey, but, i am feeling discouraged. I have been stalled for over a month, i got back on track after the holidays and have gone to the gym basically every day for the last 3 weeks and I have been gaining and losing and gaining the same 2 lbs. my dr. put me on a low dose birth control 3 weeks ago and im afraid that might have somthing to do with it too! im getting frustrated. i feel like this is it for me. i am able to eat quite a bit more than i used to. i am still doing mainly low carb. i have slipped up here and there but not all the time. my calories are probably in the 1200ish range. ugh, i dont know why the scale isnt moving. i have been doing crazy cardio and some circuit traing and abs. my waist hasnt shrunk. is a stall commen at this point? please tell me the scale keeps going down after 51/2 months! thanks, i needed to vent
  9. hey guys! i am having a hard time sticking to the rules lately, i basically binged on cheeze its. my 2 yr old kept feeding them to me and the more i wanted, 2 days in a row. then my husband put a bowl of crackers and dip next to me and i kept eating them. i didnt even feel full. i cant say no. my husband is not supportive food or exercise wise and i battle with myself what to eat and what not to eat. I am having a really hard time getting back on track. my husband cooked dinner the other day and fried chicken, tonight fried sausage patties, which i skipped since i ate a ton of cheeze its and crackers. to be honest i am not a cook or meal planner and struggle with healthy choices. plus it doesnt help that i have been more hungry lately, been able to eat much more and have been craving salt and sweet foods. my appetite and cravings are changing back to old habbits and i am getting upset. any advice would be great! thanks and happy yew year!
  10. Hi guys!!! I was on a losing streak for a while and made my thanksgiving day goal early! Now I am stalled! I went up 2 lbs and have been losing a few oz.'s at time. I wanted to hit onderland by christmas, but, looks like I may have to move it to new years!!! But, I am so thankful for my sleeve. I am able to eat everything and more than I thought I was gonna be able to. which I am kinda greatful for too, because one of my biggest fears was that I wouldnt be able to eat at all. Anywho! People are starting too notice the weight coming off (74 since I started my pre op diet) and I feel good about myself. I am 4 months out and still have a long way to go, but, I am so happy. I wish I had done this sooner!!! No regrets!!! except for the hair loss! LOL!, but, I'm dealing! But, I discovered Joan rivers hair powder. It works awesome. I have thinning hair at my part and crown, this powder stuff hides my shiny scalp and boosts my confidence!!! Yay!
  11. I have a 2 year old too and was on a 10 lb. weight restriction for 6 weeks. I would sit in a big chair and she would cuddle in my lap, or I would get down to her level and play with her on the floor. When I got too confident and started to pick her up, i pulled the big incision site open a bit and was put on another few week restriction, so, please be careful and dont over do it.
  12. you loo fantastic! Congratulations on your success!
