I loved eating hummus at this stage. It is very mushy and savory tasting. A good break from the sweet shakes.< /p>

I know that pre-op diet is rough. Take care of yourself!!!! No more playing chicken with the red lights!!!

Hi Coops, I remember your posting from about 2 months ago, when you asked us if we thought you should keep trying so hard to lose, or kind of take a break. (I'm paraphrasing of course.)
I'm glad you continue to fight the good fight! Congrats to you not only on your weight loss but on your positive attitude. I hope I am the same a year from now!

I'm 12 weeks out, and yes I can eat about 3/4 to 1 full cup most of the time. It does scare me a little, but I figure controlling myself now is good practice for the rest of my life. Hopefully!!

I can't find the thread with all of the people's user names for myfitnesspal.com
I just bumped it up to the top of view new content. It is titled "anyone use myfitnesspal.com?"

Hi SV, I'm glad you've come to this site for support. So have you gotten back to basics: counting carbs, Water and changing up the exercise routine? I track myself on myfitnesspal.com. There are a bunch of people from this site that are also on myfitnesspal and we are all friends and share our food diaries. It's another good place for support. My username on that site is adriq (look for the posting on this site for a bunch more usernames to friend) Please join us there, and also look for some veterans on this site that might be able to give you more advice. Oh, and by the way, 80 lbs is a great accomplishment...dont forget that!!

My stall started closer to 4 weeks after surgery (at that point I had lost about 35lbs) and it lasted 3 weeks. It was a lonnngggg 3 weeks, but I'm losing pretty consistently now, slower but consistent.

I am 3 months out and I eat 900 to 1100 calories per day. I try to stay under 1000.

Well, I've had flax seed bread and everything else but the lox. I have eaten whole wheat crackers as well. I'm sure you can try it ...wait about 3 months from surgery. (Don't worry, time goes by fast!!!)

I found a good tasting low-carb bread. Oasis Sprouted Low Carb w/Flaxseed Bread=8 carbs per slice. Yes!, per slice, and they aren't tiny either. If I use two slices for a sandwich, I cut off the crusts cuz it's just too much for the sleeve. The taste is a little like sourdough. When you toast it the taste mellows a bit. So I like it for Breakfast, toasted with Peanut Butter and fruit spread on top! I found it at a healthfood-type store...they are online too. (If you're in The OC, they have it at Mother's Market)
"I love the smell of carbohydrates in the morning!"

I make white meat moist by spreading avocado on it when I serve it. I love avocado and this way I get the healthy fat instead!

At 4 weeks after surgery I stalled for 3 solid weeks! It was rough. But the weight loss will start up again. When my stall started I had lost 35 lbs, now I'm at 53. The weight loss is slowing down, but it's staying consistent (for now!), and I'm happy with that. I don't want to lose too fast in hopes of avoiding really loose skin.

I think we're all in agreement. Try to cut down on sugar/carbs. I know it's tough, but you're tougher!!

I made a big salad tonight for my family; of course it's still off-limits to me. I nearly started drooling. Before surgery, I would have never thought I would be craving rabbit food!!
I know, isn't that so bizarre! Starting about a week ago I ate a salad every day at lunch for OVER a week! (that wasn't me before surgery, my go to lunch was always a sandwich or burger) I guess it's because when someone tells you you can't have something...you want it more!
Don't worry ladies, your salad days will return before you know it!

From start to finish, did it take about an hour or more? I have found that if I'm not careful, I can eat a little, let it digest, then eat a little more, then let it digest and so on. I think this is what some call "cheating the sleeve." And it can be dangerous, this is why I really stick to 3 meals and 2 Snacks on schedule now. (and measuring or weighing helps too) I think this hasn't turned into a bad habit for me because now I don't get cravings like I used to, but it is something I have to stay conscious of so I don't over eat--over time.

At about a month out I went to Tutti Frutti and had about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of frozen yogurt. It was either low or nonfat with no toppings. And I really enjoyed it...no problems. I think we have to take rich foods small, slow and easy; especially greasy or sugary stuff.
