Hitting 60 lb mark and hair falling out in HANDFULS!
Thanks!!! Any info is appreciated! I know everyone has different ideas and what works for one person does not work for the other! Doc only has me on 500 a day of biotin...might up that and see what happens....at this point couldn't hurt! Thanks again! And it makes me feel great to see you are ahead of me and still have hair at 81 lb loss (CONGRATS to you on that too!) Thanks again!

I Need Food...
I eat lunch at work with my friends everyday. Now I have a chicken breast grilled and a couple bites of veggies. I cut the pieces up small and chew well and take my time and ENOY food. Eating is not going to be a problem. Before even after I finished a big plate I always had the "muchies". That feeling is gone and I don't miss it at all. I am in my 40's ....wish I would have done this at 30 and have more years not being the fattest person in the room. Good luck on your journey!

Hitting 60 lb mark and hair falling out in HANDFULS!
Fixing to hit my 60 lb loss mark! YEA! Don't get me wrong ...still not sorry I chose the sleeve. Feel better everyday (although I still get really tired sometimes). My husband has commented that I act years younger! My knees don't creak and joints all over my body feel MUCH better. I am getting my Protein, Vitamins, and Water in everyday. (and doc had me on B Complex Vitamin which contains Biotin since surgery) Just started end of last week.....HAIR falling out in CLUMPS! Thankfully I have alot of hair but STILL KINDA FREAKING ME OUT HERE! I know everyone posts that it will come back when weightloss evens out. 1. I have read that month 3 is when the hair usually starts (and yes this is month 3 for me) What month did you notice it start coming back? 2. Do you loose it to the point of bald? Do most people? I have no bald Patches yet but I mean to tell you I am scared to run my fingers through my hair as it comes back with a HANDFUL? Just trying to prepare myself....if I had not read it here I really would have freaked. This support group ROCKS!!!! Thanks for any info......

2 years post-op
I hope at the end I look as great as you do! I started out at 230 and hope to get down to 140...because I am short 5'1". I am an adoptive mother also. Adopted a princess from Guatemala . She was 2 months when we signed papers and got to see her....but did not get to come home to us util age 1. She is 4 now and diva of the household ! Have one bio son 20 and then years of infertility (and fertility meds pack on pounds which I think did not help matters any). If I had known how great adoption was I would have done that first!!! In case anyone is thinking of adopting - YES it is just like when they hand you your own bio child. When they put them in your arms you fall in LOVE! Wish I were a few years younger (45) and had money laying around and I would do it again in a HEARTBEAT! Congrats on your beautiful life! Thanks for posting.....alot of us newbys wonder about 2 years out etc..... Forgot to add..............YOUR BABY IS GEORGEOUS!!! POST AS MANY PICS AS YOU WANT....I AM ENJOYING THEM!

Caffeine? Husband?
I am not going to lie...drink REAL coffee 1 cup in am. Was coffee junkie before surg. 3-4 cups a day. Now one (and maybe drink only 3/4 of it) in am and take my Vitamins with it so I am not going to fuss at myself too much for drinking it. My hubby thought I was crazy too. His mom is really heavy and has developed diabetes and he is scared of loosing her and I think that was the only thing that kept him from telling me no. Good luck! One of the best decisions I ever made. Sleeved in May down 56 lbs...

On my mind.
Lady at works daughter had lap band. Went from 300 to size 8. Her lap band fell apart. Now she still has the parts in her that she can still feel through the skin (port box feels like a pacemaker) and has to pay to have surgery to have it removed. She gained all the weight back. Did not want plastic parts in there but that is just me.

Help, please! Chewable Multi Vitamins are making me sick!
BA made me vomit too....what is weird is the berry flavor of Iron goes down ok but the multi makes me puke????The sublinqual B12 ok too. I went to the Vitamin store and got a pinapple chewable that I like (they will let you taste some there which helped!) Asked my doc to look and he said they were great. Still doing the chewable Viactive calcium but have seen others post not as good of source of calcium....from googling it still on fence. Will ask dr. next visit. Loosing ok and labs look good so wondering if he will care.

GOING INSANE, PLEASE HELP!!!!
If I had to do it over again I would cook and freeze some 1 cup servings of mushy stuff. Right after surgery I just got so tired for the first couple of weeks. I would cook a couple good soups, maybe a gumbo, a good chili, etc. At least it will already be cooked and all you will have to do is wirrrr it in the blender! Good luck.....lost another 2 lbs yesterday....this sleeve ROCKS!!!!! Having a great year!!! (Sleeved May 23, 2011)

Salty Sweet Crunchy Snack -With Pecans
Took an old recipe for snack pecans and did it sugar free. Mix together 2 egg whites 2 cups pecans 1 Tablespoon cinnamon 1 Tablespoon salt 1 cup Powdered Splenda (I used the one in big bag) bake 350 20-30 min (I used aluminum foil sprayed with pam so it came off easy) until dry and crunchy. Not sure of stats....but yummy and has protein! I forgot to put - make sure you include the egg whites....they kind of "bake" the pecans together like a praline (minus the sugar...hahaha)

How much should I be eating?
Just going to warn you....if you are not eating enough protein your hair can fall out and you can hit stalls....learned that the hard way....and read it here on board from different people over and over.....make sure you are getting the protein 50-70 a day is what most people say. Good luck.....so far so good!

Pills vs Chewables
My doc said at week 2 it was ok to swallow pills. Also could not stomach the Bariatric Advantage made me hurl. Went to Vitamin Shoppe and taste tested alot of chewables. Found one that went down fine. Got doc to look and he said they have alot of good stuff in them so OK. Also.....I find my vitamins go down better in am with coffee....in afternoon I hurl. Try different times of day!

Whatcha eating today!!! Sunday
Don't freak....I did that too....try changing stuff up. I was sleeved May 23, 2011. So Aug 23 I am 3 months (12 weeks) I have hit two stalls so far and noticed it was around my period?? Anyway....I think both times I was not eating enough. I also noticed the Water drinking helps it come off. I am bad about the water. I take most Vitamins in the am...and take the Calcium in the pm....It seems like the days I forget the calcium the weight comes off slower too? I also switched acid pills and that I think help break stall....I seem to loose more when I am off and eat more?????Go figure.....good luck don't stress! We are all in this together.....Inching along right?

Vitamin deficiency?
"deficiencies of Iron, folic acid, or Vitamin B12 (although supplementation with iron or Vitamins has not been shown to decrease the likelihood of ulcer resolution)" googled it....yep could be....emedhealth or something like that... but it also says stress- and the surgery, even if it went well,.....is stress on a body right?

I have a c-section scar too....maybe it is that surgery????that makes it worse for belly hang???.....but have an overhang prob too.....loosing everywhere else but not there. boo. How in the heck are you people fitting in size 8 jeans? I am 176 today....and telling you no way I am fitting into anything that small......SUCKS being short! I am 5'1". Favorite Transition Foods
I lived on baked fish too. Be careful the first couple of mushies you eat (try at home first). Mayo did bad things to my insides the first couple of weeks had to be near bathroom. (sorry if too much info) It does get better!

2 Weeks out and Suddenly nauseous - CANT STAND LIQUIDS!
There are ALOT of us who did protein before surgery fine but after can't stomach it. I am getting by using the Unjury Chicken broth a couple times a day and some protein bars (for when I am working or in a pinch). Popsickles and snowballs made with sugar free liquids went down better at first for me. Don't stress.....you don't HAVE to drink the shakes there are other options. Everyday gets better stick in there!

BIG secret... good or bad?
I told one friend at work who yelled at me. Even though we are talking again....it is still in the back of my mind how ugly she was. I took off a couple of weeks at work and going back and learning to eat slow and less in front of others was not easy. I am still dealing with it. Prob would have been better if I had not said anything. But I am the kind of person who speaks my mind and hate secrets. I would rather just be honest. Most of my friends are very supportive and I am thankful for that. I did not tell family as I did not want everyone showing up at the hospital! - not real proud of being so fat I had to have surgery - and I bet some of you know just how I feel. I told everyone after I was home and settled and that worked better for us.

Will it ever be enough?
Thank you for this post. Feel the same way. Not that I am not happy that I have lost so much weight so far. I know I am smaller but still feel like the "fat girl"....nice to see I am not the only one. Maybe when I don't gain it all back in 6 months like usual it will sink in?
