When do you tell someone new you're dating you've had WLS?

Oh that fat belly [emoji35]
I have not had surgery yet, but I know that for any other dieter when you have a problem area it is usually the last to go. I myself carry the bulk of my weight in my tummy and any other diet I have ever been on that is the last place that wants to leave me. Legs and butt go first then face and arms last is the boobs and tummy.

I cant stop thinkng about it.
I am in the same boat as many of you. I have started doing my requirements but will not be able to submit until January first because I have to switch to the more expensive plan. I think it about constantly and am totally consumed with everything SLEEVE..lol At least we get this time to prepare ourselves for the great changes ahead. You are not alone, I too hate bringing up the surgery to others because I feel like every time I open my mouth it is Sleeve related and my family is probably rolling their eyes whenever I talk..haha (jk..I hope). We have two short months left, I hope all who are waiting have a quick and fast holiday season so we can get to January already!

Lost in the process, feeling like it will never happen.
chubbychunkythickplump replied to chubbychunkythickplump's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&AJust wanted to say thank you for your replies. I called the WLC back today since no one had returned my call (patients is a virtue that I was not blessed with). So I talked to one of the girls in the office and she said that everything is okay and scheduled my apt for 11/12. I am so relieved, I was getting all worked up as usual. Now I have to weigh myself and see what damage was done over my little bender. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Lost in the process, feeling like it will never happen.
chubbychunkythickplump replied to chubbychunkythickplump's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&AI am going to tell them that I was with a friend that was in the hospital (not a lie) and the hospital she was taken to is out of our town. I live in Illinois and the hospital I was at is Univ. of Iowa in Iowa City. Its about a 45 min to an hour away. I guess all I can do is just see what they say. I haven't gotten a call back yet so I don't know if I should call them back yet or wait a little longer?

chubbychunkythickplump replied to chubbychunkythickplump's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&AOne thing at a time...such a simple yet efficient way to get things done. I am not simple and efficient..lol I am more chaotic. I love the list idea that way I see progress. I will definitely implement the old grade school KISS method (keep it simple stupid) lol. Thank you for your encouragement!

Lost in the process, feeling like it will never happen.
Missed my last appointment at the Weight Loss Center, it was just a Dietitian visit but I feel so lost. I just feel like this is never going to happen and I am going to be huge forever and just keep getting bigger. I have reverted back to terrible eating habits and i am scared to go to the WL Center and get weighed. I do not have a supervised diet from my INS company but was told not to gain any weight. My very best friend of 25 years was injured in a house fire and since then I have been eating terrible. I know one of the things I need to focus on is emotional eating but this one just blew me out of the Water. Now I don't know what to tell the Center I go to. I knew I had an apt that day last week but I just skipped it. There are just so many appointments and tests to have done I feel like I will never get them all taken care of. I know I need to call and reschedule I am just ashamed of myself. I just need to get up put my big girl pants on and stop feeling bad for a relapse. Sorry for the pity party just needed to get it off my chest. Thank you for reading my ramble, if anyone has any helpful solutions with scheduling of appointments please share. I wish I could just take one day to get multiple things done but it never works out that way. Thanks again

OMG I'M APPROVED! AND I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THEY SUBMITTED
I am a smoker and I know I need to stop like now but I need some major help. How did Chantix work for you? Obviously it worked but how does it make you feel? I wish I could quit on my own because I know what I have to look forward to but having been a smoker since I was 14 I cannot completely stop. I am down to just two packs a week and you would think I could just kick it but alas I cannot. Many Congrats on your upcoming surgery date! Cant wait to be in the same boat!!

Looking for buddy in the Quad Cities
I looked into Gastric Bypass back in 2010/2011 with Trinity but backed out. I am now trying to have VSG, I wont be able to actually have the surgery until the first of the year for insurance purposes. All I have to do is another Sleep Study and my NUT and Psych evaluation (oh and stop smoking..the toughest thing of all) how far are you into the process?

I want to be a woman again.
Oh my god, you could have opened up my brain and took those thoughts right out. As I started reading your words I started to cry, because this is how I feel and have felt for the past year. Sure a year ago I was still big but I at least tried to hide the emotions and look as if I was fine. Now I don't even leave my house unless it is for work or to go to the store. I used to love doing my hair, makeup, and get my nails done. Now I feel so disgusted with my body and how I feel I cant hardly bring myself to color the grey in my hair..lol Its crazy to know that if someone else can relate to what you're feeling it makes it a little better. I guess I just feel alone because I am the "biggest" one in my group of every day life people and I just don't think they understand how "Fat" is not just something on your body but it is a state of mind as well. Thank you for putting your feelings out there!

Insurance Question BCBS IL ***-Chicago
I have BCBS IL and the first time I looked into wls was four years ago and I did not have a PCP so the Bariatric Center I went to hooked me up with a Dr. that I had never seen before. So there definitely was not a year stipulation. It must just be the rule of that Medical Clinic. This time around I went with a different Bariatric Center who meets the "Blue Standard of Excellence". Hope all turns up in your favor, good luck!
