  1. After surgery I had the pain meds, chewable Gas pills to help relieve gas after surgery, Stool softners- to help soften and get things going without a struggle and I had the Bariatric Vitamins, I had Omeprozole (sp?) For stomache....

You really are not on anything too long, so dont worry, Besides the Vitamins... So its not as bad as it may seem.. Again this really seems to vary from person to person and each Surgeon is different.. I was in the hospital 4 days, I got shots while I was there but didnt need to them to come home with.. So guess it will depend what your surgeon typically does.

  2. Funny how different it varies person to person, I am typically a side sleeper... But could not sleep in bed after my surgery.. I had tons of belly pain any way my weight shifted caused it to be very painful, so we moved our smaller recliner in our bedroom.. It was very comfortable and easy for me to get up and down out of it. I had my surgery month ago and Im still in the recliner lm almost ready to transition to bed.. Itried this weekend and I cant lay on either side just yet, its coming though... Im almost there...

  3. Thankyou all for your responses, It was so odd how I would mix and mix and it would never mix in with the coffee and always sit like sludge on the top of the coffee and taste awful! Guess it does make perfect sence about the heat guess I didnt really think of that at all..

I cant wait to try it cooled, I prefer ice coffee over hot anyway... THankyou BonnieJune That sounds delicious!!!

  4. Wow! terrific weight loss -- you must be thrilled :) Yes, he's right -- everyone's ability to recover is different -- some have no pain, and others, like you and me, have/had pain -- go figure. But it's soooo worth it in the end. Glad you're doing well otherwise :)

Im really happy with my weightloss and hope it continues ....just could pass on that right belly pain lol In time I hope it disappears and I can start doing some exercise.. Thankyou for taking the time to read and respon Julie!

  5. Ive read alot about how people put Injury in there coffee for a lightner and flavor boost to cover the decaf... I tried one scoop and it sat like mud on the top and certainly didnt lighten it much lol

So the question is anyone do this?? And if so how much do you put in or how do you do it so its normal.. Im trying to use the vanilla Injury to replace my coffeemate and cover the Decaf taste..

    Thanks!

  6. Hi Everyone, I am 19 days post op and thought I would post a update.. I had my first Nutritionist and Surgeon appointments this week ..Nutritionist went well I have started stage 4 and have tolerated foods pretty well since starting it. Im more then happy to cut down on shakes, Im sooooo tired of them.

My meeting with the surgeon was great Im down 25lbs since my meeting with him before the surgery so Im happy about that but I dont feel much different weight wise... My tummy feels the same but my upper mid section feels thinner.. I am still having horrible stomach muscle pain to the right of the belly button its just awful! I sneezed last night and I immediately had tears, and I have a decent tolerance to pain. The dr said it will take a while to heal and that some patients get this and some dont and they dont really know why that is.. And the bottom line is if it hurts dont do it. which is alot I cant bed over to get something off the floor , or lay in bed I have to sleep in the recliner.. He said do not lift anything over a gallon of milk and continue to take it easy.. It could be a another 4 weeks.. It totally feels like that muscle is tearing inside its so bad, but they said thats the biggest insison and it will be a while they have to cut through everything to get through and its stretched and moved and theres stitching under there... So patience it is.. And Tylenol lol He felt everything and there doesnt appear to be hernia so I'm super thankful so will just take it easy and let it heal. Other then that I feel good, Im looking forward to the weather getting better so I can at least walk around outside!

  7. I am 19 days post opt and I have been feeling the same way! I want to see some results in the tummy section.. I know I still have swelling also.. I do notice a part in the upper midsection under my breasts is slimmed a bit.. I visited the Dr. this week and Im down 25lbs since I last visited right before the surgery which is great, but I dont really feel it lol So I guess one thing is we cant really control where the weight is gonna shed from... Hopefully we will be seeing some positive changes in the next month or so!

  8. Hi all, many thanks for the advice and the reassurance, it was really great, i feel much more at ease now, the panic has gone now and i am looking forward to each day now if i either lose or stay the same, i am going to take things at a slower pace and just take my time. thank you all.

Ange sounds like you are doing great, keep up the good work

Im no too sure, Im 12 days out and on mush but I havent really weighed myself.. I tried on the wii and since the surgery it said 14 lbs but Im not taking anything it says too seriously.. Im going on Thurs. and cant wait to see what it says! Great to know there is others here sleeved about the same time too fall back on!!!

  9. Im so sorry your not feeling well! I was sleeved the 1st and I still have pain on the right lower side of the stomach and its not gas for me, I think its just healing..I I try to bed over to much it hurts instantly.. or twist or anything. I have a dr visit on Thursday coming up and I cant wait to ask him about it. As far as sleep goes the only way I have been able to sleep is in my recliner and I use my pain meds at night to help me relax... I cant lay down still I just tried today and omg did it hurt. As far as a BM It probley wasnt till about a week later.. They sent me home with pain meds, stoolsoftners, gas meds . and a stomache one. The stool softeners I have to take 2 times daily..As it was put to me is that this is not some flimsy surgery so give your body the time to heal and recoup! Relax take it easy...Before to long it will be better... Best of luck with everything!

  10. My nutrionist gave me a list of specific ones to try and to choose one on the list or I could alternate I just had to stick with the same kind in one day... So I would find out what they want you to do.. After the surgery they suggest the whey Protein which I got to go with the regular shakes.. I choose the SugarFree Carnation Instant Breakfast because I can mix it up and I dont have a funny smell of a bottle..hahah
