  1. 4 weeks post op: Does anyone else wake up constantly in the middle of the night, extremely thirsty? I've been having to keep water beside my bed and it feels like I get up every 30 minutes to an hour SO thirsty. I am drinking so much water during the day, so I don't think it would be dehydration? It's so annoying! I just want a good nights sleep!! Does anyone else have this problem?

    Protein Help PLease!!!

I actually ended up having the SAME problem. I spent SO much money on different items but everything made me gag at just the thought of it. I finally found that Muscle Milk is actually pretty good! It doesn't have a chalky taste at all. I buy the Light, it's about 8 oz, 100 calories, and has 15 g of protein. I get mine from walmart. They sell a pack of 4 for about 5 or 6 dollars. Get a pack and try those. THey have a very similar taste to a Yoo Hoo. Good luck!!
  3. I am 3 months post op.. but preop I was about a 20 at Lane Bryant. That only bras I would wear were Victoria Secret! Their bras aren't limited to itty bitty.. I believe mine are 38 or 40 D. I wear the Biofit without padding and it's amazing. I will next buy a bra from anywhere else. They will size you if you want, but that just makes me uncomfortable.. so I would just take a few and try them on yourself! Be careful.. You will get addicted to VS

    Head hunger

You have no idea HOW much I relate to your story. At first I kept thinking about every fast food joint I could think of. I started wanting things that I didn't even really LIKE to begin with. I had to quickly realize that all of these foods I was craving are TERRIBLE for me and that those a the reasons I was in the hospital bed in the first place. Food is truly an addiction. I am 3 weeks post op and it has gotten so much better. I still crave the occasional cheeseburger sometimes but imagining me trying to eat one grosses me out. I know it would feel TERRIBLE and make me sick. I love the quote, "We should eat to live, not live to eat." I'm realizing now how much food was on my mind before the surgery. I would go to bed wanting what I was going to have for Breakfast the next morning, think about what drive thru was for dinner all day long.. it was exhausted now that I look back on it!! Keep up the good work!
  5. Okay, I was sleeved on December 23rd and have lost about 22 lbs since surgery! I'm so excited about this, but I haven't lost anything in the past week! I'm getting extremely frustrated. I know one of the reasons I may not be losing like I want is because I have absolutely NO appetite and can hardly eat anything. I'm currently in the "puree/soft foods" stage but the suggestions that the doctor gave me just sound horrible and make me gag just thinking about putting them in my mouth! I have tried to puree different types of canned Soups but looking at it dusgusts me. I'm also struggling getting my Protein in! My doctor said I should be getting about 60 grams of protein daily, but I'm not coming near that. Does anybody have any suggestions on foods I can have at this stage? I would eat if something sounded the least bit tasty! Thank you all!
  6. Thank you all so much! This is why I love this website.. it helps give me a reminder that there are other people out there experiencing the same thing as I am! You all help me tremendously!

    5 Weeks out~Down 30lbs!

First of all, CONGRATS! Reading this was truly inspiring. I am almost at my 3 week post op and am struggling to get my protein in during this "mushy" stage. Can I ask how you are getting so many grams of protein each day?? I can't seem to find soft foods that I can tolerate because everything just sounds plain gross! My Protein shakes are even getting extremely old. Help me please! You sound so successful!!

Had my 3 week post op!!

Congrats!! So happy for you! I will be at 3 weeks this coming Thursday and am struggling with what foods to eat. Everything just makes me disgusting because I have NO appetite. Any suggestions for me?? Congrats again!
  9. Congrats!! I have learned that it takes a brave person to take on what we have! God Speed!
  10. Hey I've never tried vita cost but the unjury chocolate classic is very good! It doesn't have a chalky taste at all. I mix mine with Silk (soy milk) and it's fabulous! I mix 4 oz silk with half scoop mix and it's about 13g protein.

    Incisions

I had my surgery on the 23rd and have been wondering the same thing! They are starting to peel but I'm scared to peel them the rest of the way. It looks like theres a scab on my incisions and that the scab will peel off along with the glue. That makes me cringe : /
  12. I am almost 2 weeks out of surgery and I can relate to you about the missing food. I never realized how often fast food and unhealthy food is thrown into our faces. While watching television, every other commercial is about food... billboards on the side of the road are about food.. it's everywhere! I was discussing this with my mom and like she said.. "That's what wrong with us!" Food IS everywhere. It's def. an addiction that we have to cope with ending...
