I am 33 days away from hitting the one year mark from my surgery. It is truly amazing to me how I have gone from someone who is not very active to someone who has a drive to climb hills now.
Last year when we started riding, the last thing I ever thought i would do was tackle the huge hills at the lake. But....lol and behold.....I did. I climbed them and was at the top and happy as could be.
I am very excited for the new outlook, the new clothes, the confidence I have once again and the way I feel.
I feel truly blessed each and every day to be able to get up without pain, and enjoy each an every day to the fullest.
My surgery has taught be allot. Although, habits are still hard to break, and at times the old me gets back in my life and I get lazy. But......I am bound and determined to continue to move forward.
This time last year I was in a size 30/32 pant and a pair of jeans was unheard of to get on my body.
This spring, I am wearing a size 18 jean capri, and some of my pants depending on who makes them are bigger....but for the most part, I feel like woohoooo!!!!!

Well, that is all for the day.

Well, I am about 9 months out from surgery now, and I am very pleased with how the band has worked with me so far. I did real well before and up till December, and then recently seems to be getting into old habits that are really bad to break. I am at 90lbs since March of last year, and 70 since surgery. I really want to make it to 100 by my annisversery date of getting the band, but I am really going to get my butt in gear to get that done. I bought my new bike last night and splurged and got clipless pedals and shoes. Wow.....some may say the bike I chose is not the one I should of, but for me and for my ability at this time, I feel like it is a good choice.
I ended up getting a Giant FX2 Same componets as the road bike, but has a flat handelbar and bar ends. So......no i wont be riding all humped over just yet....but...it is a big step up from where I was last year. I am nervous about trying out the clippless pedals...I just know i will wipe out.....but hey.....have to try.
So....do I like having the band...you bet I do. I need to re focus and get motivated to get moving again, and will get to that goal.

Well, after viewing EMMI and talking this over with my direct family members, we had the visit with the Physc. doctor. I was scared too death of taking a 485 question test, but really it was not a big deal, and they did not ask some of the questions I thought they would. The doc was "OK" and cleared me and gave me his blessing....YIPPY
Now offf too see the Surgeon. My husband went with me and was and has been very skeptical...but really liked this man. He was very to the point and if you dont work with him, than he cant help you. I realize that this surgery is not a quick fix, and that will help me allot...(I HOPE)
He felt like I was a very good candiadate, and I than had about an hour before I met with the dietician. Now he was awesome......
Realistic, but serious.....strick liquid diet 10 days pre op....but he has me starting on a modifired diet as well now, starting NOW....
Hopefully in a short time we will get insurance approval....and get scheduled...
I am so ready to start getting this off and living better.
I am a little concearned about having to try new things....ok, allot concearned...but I figure if you can only eat a "small" amount, I can at least try it and force myself into a new way of thinking...
    :help:
    So....now the time is waiting...
My weight on Tuesday of this week at family doc was 323
weight at Surgeon which is what we will count is 318.5
