    This forum is dangerous

I joined this message board the day after my visits with the doctors and you know every message board has diffrent people on it, and just as we do in our daily life, we have too choose what to let get under our skin and what to just shake our heads about. I have been finding wonderful advice, and no I dont think eating pizza is the right thing to do, if she does, she will pa for it. IT IS HER CHOICE> Not the doctors. And just becuase she is banded if it fails, she will have no one to blame but herself....as we all do. We are all adults, let us not loose sight of the good this does for people.... We all have opinions....an the right to them

It is going way to smoothly for something not to snag this. I am from around the French Lick area....My address is in Shoals, but I am only 10 min from French Lick. We moved here from Evansville in 98 and I work at Crane. Where are you having your procedure done at? I am seeing Dr. McEwen in Fishers. The staff there are really nice, and It is so diffrent than going to your regular doctor where you are not treated the same...you know what I mean? Do you have kids? We have 4..one is in college, and the others are in High school and Junior High. It is nice to talk to someone who is going through this.... Please stay in touch....
  5. Well, after viewing EMMI and talking this over with my direct family members, we had the visit with the Physc. doctor. I was scared too death of taking a 485 question test, but really it was not a big deal, and they did not ask some of the questions I thought they would. The doc was "OK" and cleared me and gave me his blessing....YIPPY Now offf too see the Surgeon. My husband went with me and was and has been very skeptical...but really liked this man. He was very to the point and if you dont work with him, than he cant help you. I realize that this surgery is not a quick fix, and that will help me allot...(I HOPE) He felt like I was a very good candiadate, and I than had about an hour before I met with the dietician. Now he was awesome...... Realistic, but serious.....strick liquid diet 10 days pre op....but he has me starting on a modifired diet as well now, starting NOW.... Hopefully in a short time we will get insurance approval....and get scheduled... I am so ready to start getting this off and living better. I am a little concearned about having to try new things....ok, allot concearned...but I figure if you can only eat a "small" amount, I can at least try it and force myself into a new way of thinking... :help: So....now the time is waiting... My weight on Tuesday of this week at family doc was 323 weight at Surgeon which is what we will count is 318.5

Hi My name is Traci and I live in Indiana. I just had my my pshy visit(and passed yay!!!!) met with the surgeon, what a wonderful guy with real expectations of this surgery..and also the dietician. Allot of informaiton in one day, but it looks like now all we are waiting for is insurance approval. I have a letter from them saying it is aproved if you meet certain requiremtns, so, hopefully we have met all of those... I guess what is real interesting is that people dont realize just how much behavior modification really goes into this. We liked the fact that our surgeon will not perform the surgery if you are not following the diet as asked to do prior to surgery and if your liver is too large he will also not do it until it shrinks. I have allot of weight too loose, but really appreicate this forum. Good luck with your weight loss and please tell me how your hunger pains were handled pre op on the liquid diet??
