    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

long to be...oh yea, it was defiantly a awesome ride. I have been invited to a park this weekend for some camping and riding...not sure about it just yet, will see how things go. Buffet...hello there and great job on the weight loss......That is awesome that you are still riding and doing so well. It is hard not to fall back into old habits...I say that from experience... well, hoping everyone is having a nice monday

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

well, I finally mastered getting my freaking front tire back on my bike and got a nice ride on base in this morning. I have never done anything mechanically with my bike other than move my seat, so this was a challenge in itself, but now I have done it, I think I have it figured out... it was pretty windy along the Atlantic and the head wind was fierce. I was able to see a ship leaving port, and all the sailors on deck in dress whites...pretty humbling experience.... I am going to try and get a ride in later this evening as well, or at least walk the beach...Have to stay busy or I am going to get homesick.....and I have a month to go..LOL Well, hope everyone is having a great weekend...and I am glad that everyone is enjoying the fall weather

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

i have met up with someone who use to live in Indiana and she now lives in Jax...she has put me in touch of some different rides, some during the week and some actual events on weekends. So, I am planning on staying busy....I will have to. I am a home body and use to doing everything with my husband and kids....this is a huge deal for me. Which is why my bike is along....keep me smiling...

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

I am going for work, but am staying right on the beach. My schedule is going to be pretty open in the afternoons and evenings and also the weekends, so yea...I brought the bike, which is why I drove. You know the way you have your seat (forward or back) may have something to do with your knee pain. If you use clippless pedals the positioning may have something to do with it as well. What part of Florida are your parents from? Glad to see you back on the boards again

long2b...hello Gosh, it has been a long time since I have talked to you. I have been busy this past week getting ready for my month long trip to sunny Florida.....and at least this time, I can actually say for sure it is sunny!!! I left this morning to head down, planning on stopping just on the other side of Atlanta, but I just kept on driving....I only had 3.5 hours left to drive, and I decided I better stop and tie up for the night. I cant check in until 3 tomorrow, so I will just chill out the rest of the evening. I left home at 4am this morning, but yet, I am not tired? Go figure. That is so awesome on the -70!!!! Way to go......I love it when it all works for us. I think we all have had those times where it just says NO and wont come off, but...it is great when it starts again. As far as the thread and the postings. All of us are busy people, and allot check the site, but dont post as much as before. I think the sad thing is that people come on here because it talks of biking, but arent finding much talk about it and move on. I know there are allot of new people looking for advice and it would be great to get the thread back to what the name says... But.......if not so be it.....I just love that we all have varied interest and can be helful to those needing advice.... So.....happy friday to all.....

Personal challenge between HP and D!!!

I know what you mean. We have made this a fun challenge, but my motive has changed as my reasons for doing the challenge at all First of all, I have come to realize that I have this band as a tool for me to eat the proper amounts. It by no means will tell me I cant eat something or yell at me for eating a slice of Pizza. I can choose to stay at this weight forever by not changing what I put into my mouth, or I can continue to loose and get healthier by making better choices. Life is hard, and it is diffucult to always think this way and we will have the days, weeks and sometimes months where nothing is going our way on the scale or in our lives....that is when we need people in our lives to give us the quick kick in the butt.... This is what the group here has done. I may not hit my goal weight by the 6th....but I have learned allot about myself this past few weeks... I can do this, and it feels so dang good to push myself to the next level. Everyone on this thread has come far. Everyone deserves a huge pat on the back and I hope we all know if anyone needs anything we are all here.... So.....whats next??????????????? We need a holiday challenge!!!! you know...I leave for florida for a whole month in less than 5 days?????? YIKES>>>>>>>>

Personal challenge between HP and D!!!

i posted this on the bike thread...but most of you guys read this so I will re post it here.... Well, I am pleased to say...I made it!! I did my first 80 mile ride...the route was hilly at the first with it going from rolling hills, to downright hills. Then after the 2 sag stop, it became flat as we crossed into Kentucky across one of the bridges. Then most of Kentucky was flat, which at that point I thought I would like it to give me a good chance to rest up...but at that point the mind started playing tricks on me. When I hit 50 miles (which is all I had ever done) I think It was telling me I couldnt go any longer. I wanted to stop soooo bad. I had a little argument with myself out there, and then re grouped. I ended up going across the 2 bridge that took me back into Indiana and had just around 10 miles left to go. we battled head wind ont the flats of Kentucky as well as the last 10 miles. But...all the mattered was I MADE IT! Very pleased...dead tired last night...but felt real good about the ride. I also weighed this morning.....and if it hold true I will have a pretty weight loss to put on my ticker.... I have less than 1 week until I leave for Florida....YIKES...so much to do.... Hope all you guys are having a good weekend.'

Personal challenge between HP and D!!!

thanks You know, to be honest on the last day I was getting very tired of it Heck, we ended up camping this weekend for the bike ride we did, and I just love it. We actually rented a camper, and it was really nice. Wish I had money to get another one...but....oh well. Yea, I am trying to find a plain purple jersey..(to match my bike of course) I have a purple one but I bought some purple socks yesterday and they dont really match!! LOL Anyway....we got in a 50 mile ride yesterday at the Hope ride...it was great.....I think I need to make some adjustments to my bike though...my back is killing me today.... Hope you guys are all having a good weekend.

B...love your new bike....and it is sure pretty!!!! Well, my daughter who is 14 completed her first 50 mile ride saturday! She has only dont 30 miles at one time so far, so this is a huge accomplishment for her. We had sit out for the 64 miler, but she was done at 40....Lol...so we had to push the last 10 miles to get her back. This was a excellent ride and they raised enough money to fund the food bank for an entire year. There were tons of people, great food, and just allot of fun. Not many hills...well, none at all really....so the flats were kind of boring, but refreshing as well. We have a ride scheduled next weekend and it is supposed to be hilly...I will be wishing for some flat roads by the time I am through with that one I am sure.. Hope everyone is having a good weekend
