  1. 1 years has passed since you registered at SleevePlicationTalk! Happy 1st Anniversary Freedom!

  2. Hey this post is dated the end of October - what did you figure out? I also checked out Dr. Machado in Carmicael CA - very proficient. I did not hear anything about 'aftercare' prices. I get my Protein shakes, stick to the plan, excercise. Got not problems. I did some research and although there is not the 5 years of data they like to have on a procedure, this one is 4 years old. Have heard 99% good things and have experienced it myself. So update us on progress.......
  3. Hi, my surgeon was Dr. Stephen Patching in Sacramento CA. I had Blue Shield PPO. Had my laproscopic surgery on 12/13 went home on 12/15 - and I feel great. He is no nonsense, he wants to know you are committed. I lost 40 lbs before surgery and 11 lbs. since. Everyone at the hospital ( sutter general) had nice things to say about him and now I am a fan too. Hope that helps.
  4. For too long I let fear keep me from looking into bariactric surgery. Yes there are risks, and it sounds like with your other health issues, it may take a little longer to get to where you want. I am with you on the by pass issue, that is why I opted for the sleeve. I would suggest listening to your medical doctor and get the Non-Specific issue controlled. Do some research on what you can do, eat etc. and set the sleeve as a goal. You don't want one to conflict or complicate the other. As more information and data is available on the sleeve I imagine it will become very popular and acceptable. Hope my 2 cents helped. If you want it bad enough you will find positive people to support and encourage you.
  5. Hi April, I had surgery on Dec. 13 also ! I don't really feel hungry - but my stomach grumbles like every 2 hours so I know it is time to put something in there. I have had such a great experience though. I needed to have my surgery scheduled before the end of the year ( insurance) and we were getting down to the wire when they authorized it and on Dec. 7 told me to get my test done, see the surgeon on Dec. 9 and go to surgery on Mon. Dec. 13. I did not have time to get nervous it all happened so fast . How have you felt ? - people keep asking me about nausea and energy, but I feel great. I am so happy this was my choice and am looking forward to getting back to 'normal' size and running, I really want to run with the kids. Silly huh? Well I look forward to your progress. Talk to you later.
  6. Sometimes even our family's best intentions and concerns can cause some doubts. My husband had a total meltdown a couple of days before my surgery. But if you are ready to lose weight and this is your decision and you are comfortable with your surgeon GO FOR IT ! ! ! I had my surgery Dec. 13 and when you wake up and everything is done and you are fine they will support you. Now to your question of protein drinks. I would try several samples. EAS and the Atkins are good, but the protein is only 15-17grams. The Pure Protein drinks have 23 grams. GNC store ( or similar stores ) may offer sample protein powders so you can try them before you buy a bulk amount. Will watch for your progress, all of us VSGers are pulling for you.
