  1. Thanks for all the kind words. My abs hhrry like hell where he cut through the muscle. Just.did.my.first. 2 laps in a row. Leak test went ok so now had first food. Definitely dont have much of an appetite. Gas still hurts a bit feel better than yesterday though. Wishing next week would hurry up and get here. Can't wait to get home and get clearance to go swimming, then I'm really gonna start rocking.
  2. Well, I'm back sorta they will be moving me out of icu today. In a lot of pain and discomfort gas plus muscle and tummy pain, but I guess thats normal. Was only able to do 2 laps yesterday and it was rough. Haven't tried food yet, doing barium test in an hour, then if that goes well clear liquids. Hows everyone else doing who was sleeved yesterday?
  3. Patricks wife here he is still groggy from anethesia but asked me to post an update. He is doing well surgery went well and so far he has gotten out of bed and had a small glass of Water. Pain is managed and all is going well. Elka
  4. Ok this is my last message presleeve. Waiting to be taken back for pre ops. Will update you after. Extremely nervous. All of us being sleeved today, we got this!
  5. This us ungodly. Yes I watch greys anatomy and know surgeons work ungodly hours, but that is emergent care surgery. Why would anyone chose 6am surgeries for pre scheduled... I'm so not a morning person! T minus 1h:30m till I have to be at hospital.
  6. Well goodnight peeps not that I will sleep a wink lol. Gotta be up at 4 to make sure I get to hospital by 6. Its hard to believe its really happening. Nervous as hell. Sent from my Kindle Fire using VST
  7. I did well for about 2-3 weeks on a seld imposed pre op diet. But let loose the past 9 days lol. Just freaking out, and wanting my faves one last time. I'm certain I will rock my sleeve though I've got an awesome support network.
  8. 12 hours to go. Just drank my magnesium citrate... So if anyone feels a disturbance in the force, please excuse me lol. Kinda worried ti take it. Never had laxative before, and especially a whole bottle. Getting down to the wire never wanted to eat something more in my life not because I'm hungry but because it feels like I will never eat again or something. Guess just panicking and freaking out, who wouldn't want the emotional comfort food can bring.
  9. You will do great, and I will be there right beside you. I've got to be at the hospital at 6am.
  10. Well didn't do as well as I'd like currently 643. But okay I guess since I'm 18 hours pre sleeve.
  11. Thanks t-minus 18 hours till surgery... Tummy is not happy with my decision to get rid of 2/3rds...lots of butterflies. Lol.
  12. Well, the time has finally come. It is July and tomorrow at least 18 of us (I think) will be getting sleeved! viva la July 2nd! lol. I saw a similar thread for June and thought this would be a good idea for support while in the hospital recovering. I will be going in, in 28 hours to be exact. Then my life changes forever....I wish everyone the best of luck especially my independence day siblings all 28 or so of us being sleeved the first 4 days of July. Good luck safe journeys if going to Mexico and I will see you on the losers bench where we will all be winners! Sent from my Kindle Fire using VST
  13. Donna, thanks for your kind words, second guessing this decision all weekend, I know it's what I need to do but scared of the surgery, and the commitments, and basically change... My life is about to change drastically, tomorrow morning.
  14. My egd went okay no ulcers or hernias I'm as always fit as a fiddle except for the extra 400+ pounds. My weight makes me more high risk but my weird lack of co morbities lowers the risk so I guess it's about even lol. My doctor said I'd probably have major health issues in next 5 years, that was in 2008. My biggest issues? Are all more quality of life issues. I have confidence my surgery will go well since I'm in pretty good shape internally, but that does not mean I'm not super nervous and freaking out this weekend.
  15. Wow 18 people on July 2nd that's a LOT. 26 sleevers will be sleeved before the 4th of July -- how awesome is that? So many people getting their 'independence day'.....freaks the crap out of me how close this is though.... lol
  16. I know where you are coming from I was freaking out at my egd test today and an gehring more and more nervous as monday gets closer and closer... But I have no other option I refuse to be fat any longer, i would rather be dead. So that solves my while fear of dieing on the table. Still kinda feel like I'm about to enter food prison, ie having no control over what goes in my stomach and releasing that control to my nut and my body. But I'm going to do this and going to lose 300 pounds in my first year.
  17. fyi i think the worst was where they placed my IV--not comfortable -inside of wrist. Second worst was the taste of the throat spray they used to numb. and I think I ate a bad lunch choice, cause my throat was still numb or something and now my throat is a little sore from the spaghetti sauce in my lasagne lol.. but oh well. I made it through...now I'm more worried about Monday..that's when the really scary stuff happens..the actual surgery!
  18. Just got done with my egd I swear I was shaking I was so nervous. Then I bit down in something and next thing I know I'm being woken up then transferred to recovery. No pain or nausea, hardly felt like anything even happened. Dont know why I was freaking out so bad.
  19. Mine is on Thurs and surgery on Monday. Getting nervous. Sent from my Kindle Fire using VST
  20. Drs. Schumaker and Brown in Dayton ohio do self pay - roughly 20k, 2400 for surgeon, 1400 for anesthetist, 16500 for hospital. I would highly recommend them.
  21. Thanks, I actually started my pre op, on memorial day and have lost 25 pounds. I started at 670, I'm now 645. Trying for 10 more by s day week from monday.
