  1. I made pizza today and ate it, yum yum! Well, it was a modified version. I had a slice of 100% wheat tortilla and put cheese and peperonni on it. I baked it in the oven and it was delicious! Alot of people say they avoid carbs, was this a no no?
  2. Hi everyone, I thought that It would be good to start a group with thos that just had surgery this week so that we can go through this experience together. I think it will help alot of we can talk about our experiences together and help eachother. Please join in on this group and make comments. I am new here so I do not know of any other way of starting a group for NEW surgery sleevers- just this week. For me, I am in pain still . My surgery was wed and i can't sleep more than 2 hours at a time. When I walk, I am slouched over due to stomach and back pain. Also, not sure If i should start Protein drinks but I started sippling today.

    Solid Foods

Able to eat solid foods on Wed. Can anyone tell me what they started eatting when able to eat solids? I'm a little scared but happy at the same time. I am craving pistachio nuts, do you think I can eat them?
  5. I just sent you a personal message and then I came across this post you sent. OMG, I can't believe this!!!! I am soooooo sorry to hear this. I have definitely heard that you can get a blood clot after surgery (any surgery this is a risk). My sister developed multiple blood clots after a surgery she had for her gallbladder. I have not heard of the pancreatitis, I wonder what caused this? I will defintely be praying for you! Please keep me updated on what is going on whenever you can!

    Any November 2010 Sleevers

Hi Everyone, I had surgery Nov 17th. Just went to the doctor on Tuesday and everything was ok. He put me on mushie foods. So far, I have tried... Talipia Fish- went down very well! Tunafish chicken with lots of gravy pork chops chewed up really well cottage cheese just tried brocolli couple of hours ago and it is going well. Keep in mind, I can still only eat couple of spoon fulls at a time. Also trying to get lots of Water but since I am back to work, its been hard which worries me. Very strange getting used to eatting such SMALLLLLLL portions!!!!!! My brain has not caught up with my new stomach!
  9. Just curious, do you know what % of your stomach was removed? I see many people say their doctor removed 85%; however, I was reading in a notebook my doctor sent me home with that he removes 75% of the stomach. Anyone know what difference this can make? I wonder if this can affect the amount of food you eat?

    Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner/Snacks

Hi- read your post and what you eat sounds reasonable. Who was your dr and what % of your stomach was removed and/or bougie size? I am 2 weeks postop and I hope I can eat normal like you. I don't want to eat like a mouse for the rest of my life. Oh, how many weeks/months post op are you?
  11. Wild journey it is, to say the least! Much wilder than I anticipated. Love your positive attitutude, need some of it for myself!
  12. Planner girl- Welcome abourd, we are happy to have you be one of our friends. When did you have your sleever? It really helps talking to people going through similar exeriences at the same time. MicNik- Yes, the hardest part is the emotional part. I hope and pray that this fades and I can soon say, this is the best decision I have ever made and I have no regrets. However, I can honestly say, I am not at that point yet. The anxiety and depression is getting to me, really bad! It doesn't help much to have a husband that eats anything and everything without gaining weight. Today he ate donuts while I was in the same room, I was upset, should I be? How am I going to deal with everyone eatting and I can't? I am suppose to go back to work tomorrow; however, I just do not have the energy yet. I am feeling better and better, but I am just not there yet.
  13. Ok, I just got my sleeve one week ago. I have been feeling anxious about the hole food restriction thing and feeling like I will never be able to enjoy a good meal again because I can only eat two bites of my food for life. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE HELPPPPP! 1. What are your typical days meals and how much of it can you eat? (PICTURES WOULD BE FABULOUS IF POSSIBLE) 2. Do you every wish you could eat more than what you are eatting and get depressed over it? 3. Do you regret the surgery or are you happy you did it? 4. How many months/years post sleeve are you?
  14. Thanks MiNic for checking in. I am not nearly as sore anymore. I can get up and walk around; however, I do tire easily still. I think it is because i am not getting enough Protein. These Protein drinks make me want to GAG and I become nauseous. I even went out yesterday and purchased nectar protein drinks which everyone is complaining about. I tried it and YUK, felt like I was going to puke! PLEASE PLEASE if anyone has any ideas about protein, let me know. I want my life and energy back. As far as moods, I am still very emotional, crying nightly, wondering if I made the right decision. Anyone else feeling this way still?
  15. Thank you soooo much !!!!! This information was very helpful! Your portions seem more normal, when were you able to start eatting these portion sizes? Sorry for all of the questions and thank you for all of your help with taking the time to post this information.
  16. Thank you! Where do you get nectar from?
  17. Seems like such SMALL portions! You don't ever miss food? With such small portions, are you even able to enjoy food anymore? Can you ever enjoy a dinner out? Also, I am soooo sick of Protein drinks I could throw up, how can you drink them every single day? What are you drinking/brand/flavor, etc... i've tried different Protein Drinks and I can't stand them at all.

  20. when was you surgery? Mine was one week ago and I cant sleep either. I too am use to sleeping 8 hours each night. What the heck is going on and will I ever be able to sleep 8 hr again!
  21. Wow, my surgery was the same day as yours and I have to have pure liquids for another week and the puree for two weeks until I can eat solid foods. It sounds like you definitely ate too much, I don't think my stomach could handle the cheese quite yet. Regarding feeling tired.... Yes, I feel the same way. My doctor told me before surgery that I could go back to work a few days after the surgery. NOTTTTT!!!!!! There was now way. Right now I can get up for a little bit and I am exhausted and I am getting hot flashes like I am sweating and heat goes to my face when I get up and start doing things. Yesterday was a pretty good day for me. I was able to go to Walmart and walk around and get some groceries and I went out for a car ride earlier that day. Today, my husband and kids are cleaning the house. I get up and try to help and a few minutes later, I have to sit back down and rest. I have to go back to work next week and if I feel like I do now, I don't know how I am going to do it, seriously. Anyone have any advice on how to get our energy back or when it should come back? Is this normal?
  22. anyone having problems with sleeping at night? i am not sleeping well. For ex, I went to bed at 9 and woke up at 2 am. Now here i am on computer cause i cant sleep. driving me crazy!
  23. what flavor puddings are you all eatting and is it easy to find sugar free/fat free? If so, where can you find it?
  24. So, what is on your liquid diet? How long are you suppose to be on a liquid diet before you go on puree?
  25. Hi everyone, I'v been having my ups and downs. Yesterday was a tough day emotionally for me. I am so sick of this d*** liquid diet I could scream. My stomach is still swollen alot and I still have no energy! Although, I did the most I have done in a week yesterday. My big outting was going to walmart and getting some groceries, WOO HOO! It was tuff looking at all of that delicious food I wanted to eat. When I came home, I was exhausted!!! WHat is everyone planning for thanksgiving meal wise? I have not cheated yet, all liquids so far, but I am thinking of what I can eat tomorrow, if anything??? I sure would love a bite or two of mashed potatoes with gravy and some cranberry sauce??????? Oh, by the way, I have lost 20 pounds as of two days ago. Wondering if that is too much, dont want to loose so fast that I have tons of flabby skin.
