  1. Hey Bestarcher. How are your feeling after having your surgery on the 24th? I am looking at having mine done by the same doctor. I welcome any feed back from your experiences. Eileen
  2. Ginger, I am going to the meeting tonight at Lahey are you going? I look forward to meeting you! Eileen
  3. I am going to the Lap Band Support Meeting tonight at Lahey. I had the sleep study last week. I am going to the presurgical meetings for behavior modification in June. I am not sure as to when I will be able to have the surgery. The sooner the better in my mind! Anyone else going tonight?
  4. Ok, so I went for my appt at Lahey today. I had the doctor and the psyche portion today. I have to go back for the nutritional portion due to the fact that they have a new person in that position and she isn't ready to meet w/ people. I also have to go for a sleep study which I thought was weird but I am willing to go to any length so I am doing it. I started having a panic attack in the waiting room but I calmed down once I got the scale part over. I was 263.7 lbs. and I found out that I am only 5'7" and half inches! I thought I was 5'9 for years. I am too young to be shrinking so I have been off for A LONG TIME! Now the question is do I go for the lap band or the bypass. I am leaning towards the lapband. Thanks for your help with me yesterday.
  5. Cheri, Thanks for the response. It really is appreciated. I am currently at 265lbs and I am 5'8". It is very frustrating b/c I don't allow myself to date b/c the way I feel about myself. I have been extremely fit but it seemed like it only lasted a minute. It took so much energy to be that way. I couldn't hang on to it. So, I do know how to eat healthy and to work out, but I have been in a vicious cycle for the past 6 yrs, I will lose a few pounds and then gain them right back. So thank you for your kind words, because, I too am really tired of the battle. It takes so much energy to be thin and also so much energy to be fat. I will check in after Tuesday. Lots of Love!
  6. I live in Danvers, MA. I am going to Lahey Clinic in Burlington on Tuesday for my consult. I am very nervous. I spoke to my trainer at the gym about the lap band surgery and he was very much against it. He told me that I just need to make a decision to eat healthy and work out 5 days a week instead of 3. I am so frustrated that people think being fat is a something I really want to be. I am going to be 37 next week and I have been struggling with weight my entire life. If it were that easy, I would have done it already. I have done research on the surgery. There is some good and some bad. I really feel like this might be the right move for me. I guess, I am interested in those who had the band surgery, how did you know it was the right decision to make for you?:help: Thanks for your support!
