    ??? What about eating out?

To mousecrazy and poodles: Yes, you was right, I was wondering if you could still eat some fattening things-from time to time. (Not all the time, though!) I didn't know if it would give an adverse reaction since your body doesn't get near as much fat as it use to. May sound strange, but since I'm not banded yet, I wasn't for sure about it. My life does center very much around food...this is why I think the lap-band may be what I am looking for. I wouldn't be able to just stuff myself as much as I want. I would have to think of consequences-and I hate to vomit!!! It would give me a sort of "physical boundary." Thanks for all the input everyone has added. I feel I am getting more and more informed. :biggrin1:

    ??? What about eating out?

Wow! Such a great response from you all! Thanks... Well, it does sound like something that can be done then...that's reassuring! Seems to work for most people... I know we want to strive for the most nutritious picks but does anyone ever eat things they maybe shouldn't? What happens?
  4. I was wondering something...What is it like for those of you who have already been banded-when you go out to eat? What can you eat, how does this affect your social life-as well as, psychologically. Do people notice what little you eat? Do you seem to not want food as much after the surgery? I know I have a lot of questions but I need to know before I have this done so I can feel prepared! Thanks for any info!!! Selena

    I'm a new member!

You people are so great to talk with! Supportive too! I think I want to go with Dr. Kirshembaum in Denver, CO. I have heard a lot of good stuff about him. Since I am a self payer, I will need to try and get this financed myself. Does anyone have any info on this? Thanks a bunch, Selena

Thanks for the responses. Let me know how it goes for you Misty! Hope it goes great. If anyone else has anymore info-please keep adding!! Selena
  7. Hi! I'm a new member! I am so glad I found this website. I am still in the researching/planning phase. My insurance doesn't cover any type of bariatric surgeries whatsoever. So I would be self-pay. Does anyone know of reputable affordable lap-band surgeons in the U.S.?( I am willing to travel some but want to stay within the states.) Thanks in advance for any help!!!
