  1. Hello everyone i'm 27 years old and i had my VSG on the 19th of July and as of tomorrow it will be 3 weeks post op for me. I have lost a total of 18.5 pounds up to now but there's a wild twist to my story that might shock some of you. I found out around a week or so after my VSG since my period was late and i read about many of the girls here have had problems with your periods post op, i decided to go ahead and have one of them home pregnancy tests and oddly enough it came out positive!!!I've been married for about 18 months now and to tell you all the truth we didn't really plan on concieving until at least a year post op. This is my first pregnancy and I have no complaints other than i was a little terrified at first because i figured out that i concieved around a week before my VSG so i went to my gynecologist and he assured me that everything will be fine and the baby would not have been affected by the general anesthesia. i will keep you all posted as i go through my journey :svengo:

    Mommy to be :)

i'm six weeks post op now and i feel aweful!!!i'm constantly tired and dizzy. I began vomitting two days ago and my stomach hurts whenever i eat anything, actually it hurts regardless whether i eat or not. I discussed this problem with my doctor(VSG doc)and he prescribed something to slow down the acids in my stomach, but when i went to my gynacologist he prohibited me from taking ANY drugs of such nature. So, i'm pretty much stuck between a rock and a hard place :001_tt2: my gynacologist said i can only continue to take my vitamins.
  3. thx soooooooo much for your help and advice, tomorrow will mark my 3 weeks post op and up to now i have lost a total of 19.5 pounds, which i think is great hearing from all my friends about how much weight is gained during pregnancy. I am feeling very sleepy lately and no appetite whatsoever, which makes me even more concerned about the baby being affected by this. My nutritionist put me on a high Iron and Protein diet to keep us both well nurished. Will keep you updated. thanks again :svengo:
  4. thank you soo much for your helpful info. So my blood tests came out positive and it was confirmed by my gynecologist that i AM actually pregnant with my first baby!!!i'm sooooo excited, worried, scared & sooooo many other mixed feelings(happiness being the strongest of'em)what i was worried about was the what i heard from people that general anesthesia would hurt the baby, but thankfully my doctor assured me things will be just fine, since i have concieved around 8 or 9 days prior to my VSG which was on the 19th of this past month and my last period was on the 27th of june, now my main concern is nutrition for me and my baby since of today i could start eating soft foods but what worries me is am i getting enough nutrients for both of us, another concern is, will my body still continue to lose weight while i'm still preggo(since it WAS the main reason i ahd VSG)soooo much on my mind :S
  5. have any your doctors discussed if you actually DID get pregnant a week or two after surgery what the potential dangers might be?I've had two of them house urinal tests and both came up positive!!so i went and got an HCG done and i'm waiting for the results later on today..worried to death, it would be my first pregnancy too.
  6. i had sort of the same experiance except with the gas pains :S
