  1. Good Morning donatelife. You and all of us getting sleeved today have been mentioned in my prayers! You'll do just fine. I leave in a few hours for my surgery. Getting excited about the future on the loser's bench. You be sitting on it, too! Sip, Sip, sip. Walk, Walk, Walk. Best of luck to you today!

  2. Hi- My name is Jan and I am a retired RN, I worked mainly L&D, PP, and taught prenatal ed classes. I have been overweight since my last preg. 27 years ago and have been having problems with yo-yo dieting and various exercises since. I do love Water aerobics. I have done much research on the VSG and think that it would greatly help me with my Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol problems. The weight has caused me knee and back problems which interfere with further exercising. I have been granted approval from my insurance company and have a surgical date of March 27th. I am looking forward to hearing from all of you and how you are doing. I wish for all of you the very best and a speedy recovery!

  3. Hi, I am scheduled for a March 27th surgery date. I meet with my dr. on March 12th for a pre=op visit. I am excited but a little nervous. It's nice to have a site where we can help support and be there for each other. I can't wait to join the lossers' bench. I wish the best for all of you ! Looking forward to hearing about everyone's progress.

    :)

  4. Hi, I am Jan. I've been trying for over 2 yrs. to get approval for the sleeve. After being turned down 3x by one insurance company, we changed and the new insurance company approved the sleeve for me. I am thrilled. I will have the surgery on the 27th of March in Tallahassee with Dr. Crooms.

I'm originally from Nebraska and have lived in Florida for about 10 yrs. We have three wonderful sons. One is married and one is engaged. I like to cook and enjoy art and music. I am a retired OB nurse. I have a loving and supportive husband!

I look forward to knowing my March sleeve buddies. Soon we'll be on the loser's bench with the other sleevers and on our way to a better life!

  5. Hi: My name is Jan. I just got my date today for the sleeve procedure for March 27th in Tallahassee. It's been a two year journey trying to meet all of the insurance qualifications. I am 60 yrs. old and have Type 2 diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol. I am on meds for all of those. I have tried to follow every diet plan out there; some more than once; worked out at the gym and still can't lose enough weight to feel really healthy and energetic. To be honest, I am thrilled and more than a little scared of the idea of this type of surgery. I have the support of a wonderful husband, our grown children, and my primary physician.

I have followed this website and am amazed at all the wonderful information and compassionate support of its members. I will continue to pray for all of you and your sucesses! Can't wait to be on the loser's bench with all of you! :)

  6. I was thinking of you and wondered if you were feeling any better. 199#s that's wonderful. Keep up the great work!

Unfortunately, I am still waiting for my primary MD to have his office staff move on his referral to my selected surgeon and the bariatric clinic. Monday, it'll be 2 weeks since I saw my doctor. I can't believe that it takes 2 weeks to make a referral. I'll call them back on Monday. I really want to start hoop jumping.:)
