    Candy Cane Herbal Tea

If you are looking for something with a little cinnamon and pizazz... Zhena's Gypsy tea - Caffeine free- Chai is very nice too. I used to drink about half a pot of coffee every morning at work, the tea gives me a similar tactile experience and I love the flavors.
  3. Congratulations!!! You are very easy to understand so no worries.. we aren't the grammar or spelling police haha.
  4. Glad to hear you had a great time!! Curry is not very hard to make if you feel adventurous... you can get the spice at the grocery store. (it will be milder than the real stuff but it works) take some chicken and simmer it in the curry (about one tablespoon or two) for about 30minutes with a little butter or water... and boom you have some yummies at home! There are tons of recipes for Indian food online. I love curry!! I will miss rice after the surgery eheh but I won't miss my huge jeans. ROFL
  5. For unflavored protein Unjury is great. I have been using it in my vitamin water pre-op and you can't tell it is there. Changes the color but the flavor is not changed. My husband and I ordered some samples from them and a big container of the unflavored so we can add it to everything.
  6. I have been on a pre-op diet for almost two weeks. I can understand the need for one. I think it would be very hard to go through caffeine, calorie, and portion size withdrawal all at the same time while healing. I made sure to stop caffeine the weekend before. I do miss coffee but, I am to the point now where I hardly notice. Listen to your doc.

    Need to vent

hang in there Lisa!! I went to a friends house to play games while on the pre-op liquid diet.. it was rough eating soup while they were having a nice taco salad but, I survived. now, would I want to do that every night? GAWD NO!! hahah You are kicking butt don't feel bad about wanting to get to the next step or feeling excited! I am with you. I am already looking forward to mushies and I haven't had surgery yet hahahah
  9. Hang in there!! 48lbs is amazing!! I am the same way with trigger foods... I cleaned out my house... and it all went to work or friends hehe. No more sabotage at home! I am also lucky because my husband is doing the same surgery on the same date so we can support eachother. When I hear of people ordering wings and pizza the day someone comes home from surgery I get sooo mad, that is just criminal. Have a heart and eat before you visit if that is the case.
  10. Ahh thanks Erika! I appreciate your kind words! I am getting closer one day at a time, I really can't believe the surgery is on Monday. Time flies. The process from approval to the day of, took almost one year. I am doing great. The diet doesn't really bother me anymore. I get a little growly before dinner at 6:00pm but we have been having soup when we get home and that really helps. Sooo if I don't pop on before hand see you all on the flip side... oh and move over I am dancing on the bench! LOL
  11. I haven't, but wanted to pop in and tell you congratulations! My surgery is on the 13th we will be days apart.
  12. sounds good to me... I have been living off of P F Chang's strained soup for the last week and will be getting some more tonight. :confused1: Amazing how your perspective can change in a week. I would celebrate a mushroom right now! haha : D

    I am screwing up

Hang in there Ken!! Remember why you made this decision. If it helps get a small timer... if you are hungry set it for 15minutes. If after that time you are still hungry eat something healthy. I have not had surgery yet, but I am doing the pre-op diet and I can tell you I have been tempted to say screw this and just eat everything I can find!! haha I also find that distraction helps me a lot. Go outside, go for a walk, watch a movie... something to get your mind off of food. Also, consider seeing a counselor... this is a huge change to your life. Having someone to talk to might help. Keep up the good fight!! p.s. I cannot have anything in my house that would enable me to sabotage myself. (Cookies, ice cream, chips...etc) If it helps, get rid of everything!! I am a lot less tempted if I have to drive to the store. :confused1:
  17. Thank you for the kind thoughts Emma! Hang in there! We will make the journey around the same time. With the liquid diet if your surgeon allows it - Soup from a Chinese restaurant is amazing after 8+ days of just Protein drinks. hehe. :confused1: Make sure to strain it, some restaurants will do it for you. Wishing you the best possible! Papillon

    yes, I am still alive

Glad to hear you are doing well! Hang in there!! I will be joining you on the bench in less than a week. :thumbup1:

    It's Official!

WOW!! That is amazing! Congratulations on such great results, all of your hard work is paying off in spades!!! :thumbup1: You look so much happier!
  20. Day 9: Not so bad... When I am at work I tend to do better because I am distracted with things to do haha. I can't believe the surgery is less than a week away. The liquid diet hasn't be unbearable... it sucks, but I have been true to the wishes of my surgeon. We found out that you can have Soup if you strain it. This has made it possible to get through the day knowing I have something to eat at home that is not a Protein shake. PF Changs soup is great! :thumbup1: So going to get some tonight on the way home. I really need to stay positive... My voice teacher means well but she got me all freaked out this afternoon and I just had to take a moment to breathe. She is worried about me and I know that means she cares. I just don't want to freak out about voice loss... I can't add that to everything else I am feeling. I am a singer and the potential changes will be hard to handle but I am also excited about the physical changes. There has to be a middle ground between nothing changing and OMG what did you do.. hahah I do not want this to be an emotional choice, I want it to be a logical choice. I have done my research and I believe in my surgeon. He advised me that this surgery should not affect my voice and I believe him. I have also talked to several people who have had similar surgeries and they have not noticed a huge change. The most I heard about was some breathing changes after surgery that required 2-3months to Iron out. The rest of my life is worth 2-3 additional months of working on my voice. I am taking classes so I will have people to help me through. Thanks for listening.

    I feel good!

Congratulations!! Glad to hear everything is going great for you! :thumbup1:
  22. Hi Emma! Welcome to the boards. I understand how you feel. I get more antsy the closer to surgery I am but, in the end I refuse to let the fear keep me from taking this next step to a healthier me. There are so many wonderful memories I want to build with my husband and this surgery will help us!! We are both scheduled on the 13th. I will keep you in my thoughts, please do the same for us!
  23. very sad... there was a sweet lady who used to work here and I would see her coming in to work each day. She had to stop and rest several times to get to her office. (she was a large woman on a tiny frame) My heart really went out to her and I was very sad to hear that she passed away due to complications with her heart and weight. This surgery is scary sometimes but not doing anything scares me far more.
