I am so picky and dont know how to get past that. I heard so many bad things about eating breads, pastas, veggies, chicken breast that Im scared to try anything new. I'd love to have a glass of Iced Tea but heard thats bad too. Thank you all you really help when Im having a hard time
  6. June 8th is also a special day for me Not only the day I started my new life but It was my grandmothers birthday and the day I met my husband 11 yrs ago. SPECIAL DAY!!!!
  7. Mr. Mason, I was just reading back on what I wrote to you and I didn't mean to sound so negative. Sorry about that. I am SO thankful that I was able to have my surgery especially with no out of pocket expense. But I just want to be honest about the Kaiser program. You sound SO positive I didn't not intend to bring you down. If you want to know first hand about my experince with Kaiser open and honest Im willing to tell all details lol Have a GREAT one!!!
  8. I was in the 20 week options class starting Oct 31 2009-April 4 YES there is alot of waiting and unanswered questions. I found I could never get a straight answer as to when the surgeon would be calling or even a month that I could have my surgery. I did all my own work (Calling, making appoints, Checking on labs which they say they will do ) and actually chose Dr. Yadegar in Lancaster an outside Dr. for my surgery and was treated like a queen. I was sleeved on June 8th 2010 and I've lost 31 pounds. I do know that most of my classmates have not yet had surgery and the ones that have chose my same Dr. This site is SO helpful and Im SO thankful for all the advise. Stay strong and informed YOU SOUND VERY INFORMED Do all your homework and try to make all your appointments. GOOD LUCK

The only thing I feel comfortable with eating is fish (tilapia my fave) but I know too much fish is not good so I'd like to try a couple more things that actually sound good. When did you stall?

I seriously am at the point of depression.....I lost 20 the first 10 days and the last 14 I MAYBE have got 5 pounds off Why is this happening??? This was my biggest fear about the surgery THAT IT WOULDNT WORK. My body has really changed I have lost tons of inches and down 2 sizes in pants (depending on the pants) BUT THE SCALE IS NOT MOVING

    Need Ideas

Wow you all are so creative and so helpful Thank you so much. I guess Im boring and have no creativty all Ive eaten is Jello, soups, Apple sauce, eggs and Lots of nasty protein drinks I did try to mash a baked potato last night but throw it up. I just ate 3/4 of a can of tuna with olive oil and balsamic vinegar on it I seem to be handling it ok it feels heavy but tasted good and I know its a good source of protein.

Good for you Big Kahuna, I am 12 days out and feelin great too. Day 4 I was at my daughters graduation and days 7 my kids baseball games. I havent had any problem getting my Protein down either and tried creamed soup today for the first time. Im so glad to hear some else who is on the move and feelin great. keep up the good work and make room on that bench for me too lol the more we move the more we lose Down 20 pounds cuz I aint sittin on my butt LOL Good Luck
  20. Well I've been sleeved for 11 days now and it doesn't even feel like it. My life was totally back to normal (running my 4 kids to their sports, graduations and karate testing) by day 5 oh and was at my daughter's graduation the day after the hospital Crazy I know Im so hungry I feel like I can eat my house. Im down 20 pounds and have followed the diet but due to my Dr going on vacation he had to see me only 1 week post op instead of 2 weeks and said I can already move onto mushy foods. I dont feel any different I feel I could woof down a hamburger the only thing stopping me if fear of pain. I am already swallowing all my pills and ready to start excersicing on Monday. Why do I feel so hungry?? why do I feel like I never even had 3/4 of my stomach removed???? :001_rolleyes::confused1::biggrin0::confused1:

    Totally back to normal

Thank you ALL so much for your advise.... Pills~ I take daily meds and I was crushing them because I didn't think I would ever be able to swallow pills again but at my post Op appointment the Dr. said if they are not bigger than a dime they were fine to swallow. I do take chewable Vitamins. No pain meds havent needed any of that since day 5. I'd like to know how you guys know you are full. I was almost able to eat an entire can of cream Soup today (Dr. okayed) and was shocked not to feel bloated uncomfortable or really even full. I am able to drink all my Protein with no problem and 60oz of Water a day. I never eat and drink at the same time. I am still drinking Isopure because I hate all those other nasty Protein drinks THAT I HAVE SPENT SOME MUCH MONEY ON I know some of you think Im doing too much but thats just me Im a go getter I like to be in control LIke to take care of myself and my 4 kids. My hubby had to go back to work 2 days after I got out of the hospital so I really didn't have a choice. I think getting up and going has helped me heal faster and lose as much weight as I have already. I was cleared to start water fitness starting Monday and I cant wait to get back to the gym!!! Once again thank you all for responding to my post
