  1. If we are forced to eat a fast food meal, I like to go to McDonalds and order a plain chicken breast with no bun or sauce. It's very low calorie, low carb, and high in Protein. I also buy in bulk and cook for the week. I found these steamer bags that you can cook a chicken breast in less than 10 minutes in the microwave. Easy meal there too! Hope that helps!
  2. Thank you Misty!!
  3. Thanks everyone for your replies! For the little amount that I'm eating everyday, I'm not going to get too worried about it. Thanks emlefe for the awesome chocolate pudding idea... I'm thinking of trying that soon!
  4. I've seen lots of poster's refer to their MFP food diary for hints and ideas of meals. I've tried to search for the thread of user info for MFP, but I can't seem to find it. Any help would be appreciated!
  5. Yay! You may be my new bestest friend!! LOL Thanks for replying!
  6. I have had a craving lately for avocados... which is completely strange since before about 3 months ago I couldn't stand the taste of them. I do know that avocado's are high in fats and I don't want to be sabotaging my weight loss efforts! I had 1/4 of one this morning with a egg and green pepper omelet and 5 strawberries. I also had about 1/2 of one yesterday. I did some research and I've seen that one a day is ok, but then somewhere else it says that one per week is ok... I'm so confused!!
  7. I have pretty much ignored this rule from day 1. I don't agree that you get too much air, I feel like I get less. AND, the air I do get, I'm able to burp up pretty easily. My advice, if you haven't used a straw yet, take it easy at first to see how your sleeve will react and go from there.
  8. Hi guys! I am currently 2 years out from my surgery date and I've lost 141 lbs. I was wondering if there is anyone out there with about the same timeline I do that has their stuff together. As time goes on, I've become pretty lax with my diet, exercise, etc. I need to jump back on the bandwagon and have no idea where to start anymore. I have corresponded with my Dr.'s office (my surgery was in Mexico) and all they've said is to maintain a low-calorie, low-carb, low-fat diet. I'm not really the kind of person that can just take that info and run with it, so I was wondering if anyone had the time, it energy for that matter, to help a sister out. I am looking for meal ideas, eating times, nutritional guidelines, exercise ideas, etc. basically anything you would be willing to share to help get me back on the right track. Thanks in advance!!
  9. I did go to the ER, but I don't like the dr that was working last night. He killed my pain, discharged me and told me to follow up with my PCP.
  10. Last night I had a severe re-flare of this pain. My previous experience was about 15 months ago. It starts and progresses very quickly. It is a very sharp, burning pain that is very constant. It is located directly between my breasts at the bottom of my sternum. This pain was so intense that I couldnt breathe, and at points I was writhing on the ground, moaning and crying. The only thing that relieved the pain was phentanyl, toradol, and dilaudid in the hospital ER. Has anyone else ever experienced this pain or anything similar? I am curious if it is related to my VSG or not. Thanks for reading my post.
  11. I have since been informed that those protein vials are not the most healthy way to get your protein. Please accept my apology for those of you that I led astray. I have since returned the vials and use Unjury chocolate for my protein. I am going to buy some of the protein powder at Wal-Mart when that runs out.
  12. I bought a 16oz Water bottle at Wal-Mart too and I just dump the full vial in the bottle and then fill to the top with koolaide, shake and sip... Yumms!! Just remember to get sugar free koolaide!! :confused1: Chrysi
  13. If anyone else is having this problem... I use the Whey Protein vials at Walmart... they are fruit punch flavored and have 24 grams of protein per vial. While the taste of them alone is absolutely revolting, I mix them with sugar free cherry or grape koolaide and I can't even taste it. This is the easiest way I can think of to get my 60-80 gms of protein a day. Hope this helps!!
